Semantics?

My point is myself, and a group of like minded and dedicated individuals put in 3 weeks of progression into him. We knew ahead of time he would survive. It was annoying still.

We get the pleasure of defeating him when he was a monster, but not the satisfaction of killing him.

Tough break, guess you simply can't have everything. :P

One of my larger issues with the game ATM. Leveling is a joke. It's pretty much just " get through the leveling as quickly as possible" they've dumbed it down and made it almost a waste of time more then anything

Same, I actually went to a private vanilla server with the actual leveling speed and enjoyed it way more, despite outdated mechanics and features. It felt more of a journey and having friends along made it even better. Now if you have a few friends with you, the only thing to do is to queue up for dungeons until you get to 85 or 90. Doing quests is pointless and if you want to complete the zone wide storylines, you are shooting yourself in the leg cause after doing fraction of the quests, you've already outleveled the zone.

Y'all just there to make green Jesus look good.

25 people went in, some cases, 10 people did. They get to do all the nasty work while green Jesus steals the show.

Yeah it's tough right?

Like how I wish certain people would keep quiet and let me rant without getting annoyed over semantics.

I wish certain people didn't whine about such little things.

But again, guess we can't all get what we want. :)

Velen needs to be a central character in this coming expansion, after all he is the brother of Archimonde and Kil'Jaeden. Also he turned down Sargeras offer to join the legion. If they ignore him i will be rightly pissed, yet again.

I think they are going to kill off a number of lore characters around launch. Otherwise it won't make sense for them to hand over their weapons to players. I wouldn't be surprised, but it is just speculation. Saw a staff similar to Velen's as one of the Artifacts players need to collect.

I was a bit more annoyed about him stealing the show on DW. At least with Garrosh he only beat the weak version. We had to fight him when he was infused with the powers of an Old God.

Nah, I rather not. If I see something that I see foolish, I tend to point it out.

Also players never really defeated Arthas either, you got one shotted and Tirion stole the show then with one swing of his weapon, players just got to hit him afterwards like he was some pinata. People just seem to have issues with Thrall doing anything simply because he is Thrall.

Edit: Typo

Also it's a valid criticism. Green Jesus gets swatted away like he's a gnat at the start of the encounter, but the heroes come in and take care of it and the credit goes to Green Jesus. It also happens with Death Wing a bit too. One can point out an annoyance with something. You can reasonably disagree without being a baby about it.

As a fan of the Draenei, It'd be really annoying if we went right back to being completely ignored in an expansion about the Burning Legion making a return.

The entire end goal of the Draenei at this point is to create their army of the light to fight the legion.

Yes he does, there was a "story" behind why he lost and why he didn't the next time, if you paid attention. He recovers after players defeat Garrosh and comes to deliver the finishing blow, never did I see anyone say that Thrall beat Garrosh there and then. I am not being a baby about it, you simply took things all personal, but that's hardly my problem.

Will this save WoW from dying?

You know, every time I briefly consider rejoining WoW (Haven't played in over five years, but I do like the lore), I look at the raised level cap and think Hell no!  I am not slogging through all that to get to the content that wasn't there when I played.

At what point do you think the level cap actually becomes a detriment to the game's ability to attract new players?

Well, if you buy Warlords of Draenor, you get a free levle 90 boost that you can apply to any of your characters, so you can get right into the Draenor content. And during the Gamescom stream, Tom Chilton (I think it was Chilton?) off-handedly mentioned that Demon Hunters start at a higher level that everyone else and can start the Legion content quicker. Whether this means that Demon Hunters start at level 100 or at a lower "high level" like Death Knights, I don't know.

I would rather they speed up leveling when the leveling content is going on 5 years old and holds no relevance, than have it takes months and months of tedious grinding like it did in '04.

Issue is leveling has become pointless and more of a chore than anything else. They may as well remove it all together, which is far from my ideal solution but still better then what it has turned into.

On the Legion page, they also mention a free level 100 boost for one character. It looks like it's going to be a standard feature of new expansions to get a free character of max level of the previous one.

Which is nice for people, though I already had a maxed out character of every class in MoP.

Will this save WoW from dying?

Honestly, I think it might just hasten it.  Looking over what they revealed, it sounds like they went through the list of every fan demand over the last ten years and then dumped it all into one expansion.  Emerald Dream, Alleria/Turaylon, Demon Hunters .  But I think for some fans, it's come way too late but Blizzard is desperate to boost their sub numbers so they're willing to try anything.  Also I think their story is a nightmare.  They clearly have no long term plan and they just throw it up on a wall and hope it sticks.  I personally feel like Wrath of the Lich King was the last great expansion because it tied so well to Warcraft 3.

To be fair they are pulling in quite a decent cash flow at Blizzard with micro transactions for WoW, Hearthstone and skins from Heroes. It would suck for their big subscriber count to drop even more than it already has still.

Warcraft 3 was clearly the last time Blizzard didn't make stuff up as they went along. Even Wrath, good as it was, had some story issues (such as the braindead ''there must always be a Lich King'' BS).

As for this, it might make me go back. I liked Mists and quit WoD after it was clear that if you weren't an heroic+ raider your endgame consisted of filling up a blue bar and endless rep grinds. The artifact weapons in particular look really awesome; I heard Fury warriors get to dual wield Gorehowl, which is a dream come true seeing as I main Fury.

You realized WoW has been around since 2004?

That's ELEVEN YEARS.

That's UNHEARD OF IN ANYTHING.

Most games nowadays last less than a quarter, with a handful of amazing ones lasting a few years.

WoW has been running like crazy for 11 YEARS.

Just food for thought.

I'll pass. No WOW expac since Wrath has interested me. Cat was horrible and I did not hear anything really good about the last two expacs (more so the last one), of course if this expac does turn out to be good and I mean close to or on par with Wrath I would consider trying.
