In Haven it was really easy to find the Research person and the desk to put interesting materials on, as it was in the same room with Josephine in the Chantry.

 

Having scoured Skyhold I cannot find this person and I have lots of interesting stuff for them to look at.

 

So, do tell: Where is the researcher in Skyhold?

She's on the second floor of the tower (Solas is on the bottom floor, and Leliana is at the top). She's right near the stairs that lead up to the rookery (and standing next to the research table).

Going up the stairs from Solas' room, just continue on (depending on your choices, you may pass Dorian and/or Fiona on your way) toward the next set of stairs. She should be right there.

She's easy to find, go into the tower were Solas lives, go up the stairs and then to the opposite side of Dorian, where the stairs to Leliana would be.

Or take the fast travel point to Leliana and go down the stairs, she'll be right in front of you.
