This will be my first bought DLC for DAI. If it's fetch quest simulator 15 and has minimal story and barely any cutscenes like the main game then I'll be on the forums giving my opinion.
Wait before to purchase this is my advice

Unless Maryden is doing a tour of the Deep Roads with Zither...
Nah, thats Warden only tour.
No. Your party will stumble onto a fissure in the Deep Roads and just decide to go exploring. You do nothing but fight darkspawn for 10+ hours. Nobody talks to each other or discovers anything interesting. In fact, you never come back up. You only.....descend.
This sounds like a lot of the sidequests in DAI already, so it's very likely to be the case. ![]()
The trailer says "reveal a secret that will shake the world to its core." Probably hyperbole there given that it is a trailer, but sounds like there will be a nice bit of lore established.
Hmm, I wonder if we'll find the Titans. OGB Kieran says dwarves can't be taller without the Titans, which could be a hint too. Maybe the revelation is that you find an ancient mech suit that you use to go deep underground and discover a race of beings that once ruled as gods until they created a new species that turned on them.

If that happens, I think I might just personally fly to Bioware to go throw up on them.

I am not getting too hyped on it, but I also wouldn't be shocked if the reveal is actually a game changer. We've already seen hints though the lore of DA and the DLC, and the end scene twist of Inquisition was quite a shocking reveal that did actually change things up from what we thought was happening. So this doesn't seem like hyperbole right off the bat. I think the writers have had a plan since at least 2 and have been building on it ever since.

For your sakes i hope not. You gonna need a lot of throw up.
That's because most people are a bunch of whiny brats who don't appreciate anything about DAI and come on here to complain to get attention or jump on the bandwagon, while those that genuinely don't like it and give good reasons, or do like it, have their comments ignored and threads pushed to the bottom of the page thanks to spam by people who have nothing better to do than post pics of random stuff because they think it's cool.
I liked it and I honestly don't care if others didn't. I like everything about each DA game, I find many complaints petty and always see the bright and positive side of everything in each game and DLC. I expect to enjoy Descent as much as JOH and probably even more. I speak for myself not others.
I am not attacking you but I am simply getting of my chest how tired I am of the ridiculous stuff I read especially after competition games came out and people got accounts just to stir the pot. At age 30 I have seen this stuff since I was 17, and it's getting old and tiring and pathetic.
Yeah okay. I try not to assume anything about people on forums regardless of opinion, but you seem to have read a lot of stuff in my post that was not there.
I did not hate DA:I. I hated a lot of things about it, but as a whole I liked most the experience but for the wrong reasons. I am more critical than most who feel this way, and as I am sure you can see I have had this profile for a long time and posted a lot, especially on DA forums.
But this is not a personal debate so I would suggest you vent yor frustrations about users on your profile page and not in a thread.
I honestly think that both this DLC and Jaws are overpriced and will wait until they are on sale before I even consider picking them up. Not to mention these aren't the story DLC packs that most are expecting (story wise) I'll hold off for a bit.
That would be disappointing.
I am hoping that Descent will amend DAI's mistakes like Legacy did for DA2.
DAI or JOH can't hold a candle to DA2 Legacy.
Jaws is currently 30% off for PC, if that's your thing.I honestly think that both this DLC and Jaws are overpriced and will wait until they are on sale before I even consider picking them up. It was apparently mostly produced by the Bioware Austin Team actually, the team behind SWTOR. Apparently this was what Shadow Realms was canceled for.
Please tell me you're joking, that is without a doubt THE most incompetent team at Bioware currently. I was already skeptical about this DLC due to the setting, but knowing this I will wait for reviews before I buy it.

Titanfall?

"You have delved too Deep."
Okay, yeah, that was lame...
Would you be able to direct me to the quote? From the sound of it, yeah, Laidlaw said it was designed to encourage coming back later if you were under-leveled for the deeper content.
The devs already answered this question. He is.

"C'mon Zither, let's fight the Old God's music, with our music..."

About the Architect? I can't, but I believe it was Gaider. He said that he and Corypheus were the same type of being. Besides which, WoT2 says that one of the magisters was the "Architect of Beauty", the High Priest of Urthemiel.
I wouldn't call that a revelation, as it doesn't confirm anything and there remain too many questions about the Old Gods' nature, but it does open up possibilities, yes.
What disappoints me is how these DAI dlcs are marketed as revealing stuff about the world, like JOH revealed details about past events. These things are interesting but i don´t believe they really make or break the dlc. I would rather the focus be on the actual dlc, like interactions with companions and the environment, maybe side-quests too, i really liked how it was done in Legacy dlc for DA2.
As it is i when i look at this dlc i remember the golems of amgarrak from DAO - a dungeon crawl with some base npcs, hardly what i would call a good dlc. I would rather have something like mark of the assassin or legacy - some backstory combined with character interactions, something that feels like part of the main game.

I felt like major things in JOH got completely swept under the rug and no one really commented on it at all.

Well, I wouldn't say that is really a new discovery. Lore and the Codex have hinted at this since Origins and not just with the Avvar. The average person in Thedas is probably ignorant of this as well thanks to the Chantry's restrictive Magical curriculum but Brother Genitivi knew of similar Rivani practices so it's not a complete unknown. The Chantry blocks everything coming out of Tevinter so who knows what their Mages are capable of in this area.
And now I cannot help but see the darkspawn some sort of gruesome and grotesque version of the Minion species from "Despicable Me" franchise; constantly looking for a boss to serve.
There's a DLC idea; A storyline from a darkspawn perspective about Kevin the hurlock, Stewart the shriek and Bob the genlock on their search to find an Archdemon.
There is actually a fan made Dlc for DAO called the emissary

I'm not sure if the DLC is worth my attention. I've finished Inquisition only once, including Jaws of Hakkon (dlc finished like 3 months ago) and didnt play it since (mostly thanks to Witcher 3).
Are there any more details regarding the story, plot and locations in the dlc ? I dont want it to be another fetch quest dlc like most of Inquisition game. I'm afraid it'll be more of 70% open world, 20% sidequests and 10% story.
To be frank I didnt like two things in Inquisition.
1. Tons of fetch quest's. I know they aer not obligatory to finish the game, but they do help in levveling up and provide some ites/resources. Something that a completionist like me cant pass.
2. Fakely hardened game with higher HP modified by resistances to certain effects and attacks (dont like the higher enemy HP with higher difficulty level). It hasnt been a problem in two previous games for me.
I'm not criticizing, just poiting out my thoughts and concerns so maybe someone could clarify some stuff for me ![]()
Well, the fact that it takes place in a single location arranged into multiple vertically-arranged tiers with the challenge increasing as you go deeper does not necessarily preclude it from having a story. Does anyone else remember a certain big name RPG, whose one entire installment took place in a single location arranged into multiple vertically-arranged tiers with the challenge increasing as you go deeper?

Or is my dementia showing again?

Given what we see, it looks like there is a lot more pathing than there was in the base game. I doubt there's much "open world"
