The title of the thread pretty much says it all. I'd like to suggest giving us the ability to change the appearance of our weapons/armour, either at the time of crafting or later on. Don't get me wrong, I love the actual crafting system as it is, and there's not much that I'd change about it, but after having played through the campaign a few times, I have to say that I'm getting a little bit tired of looking at the same armour and weapon sets over and over. There are so many other cool schematics like Dalish Warrior Armour that I'd love to be able to have my Inquisitor or other characters run around in, but I can't because their stats pale in comparison to others. As for how this could be done, maybe you could add a machine to the forge in Skyhold that allows Dagna to magically bind the stats of one item with the appearance of another. Or you could let us choose a different appearance at the crafting screen. (Although personally I feel that the Dagna thing would work better, since the magical option would let us do it over and over again if we wanted, whereas just the crafting option would probably be a one off.)

I know about the recolouring thing. I was psyched when they added that, but even so it's still stuck with the same design. :l

I play on PS4 but before finishing the crafted item you have an option to rename it.

MyKingdomCold is referring to the rename option during crafting. You get everything all set up, craft it, and then hit the rename button and put in whatever you want. This includes weapons and their upgrades, and armor and their upgrades.

 

This is however the only time you can rename something. Once it's already crafted you can't go and rename it again if you make a typo or something, you'd have to craft it again (I've actually done this).
