So was recently reading a quick article on gamespot, Konami announced officially that Metal Gear Solid 5 would be supporting 60 fps on both current generation consoles at a graphic quality of 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One (probably will be updated to 1080p through patch).

This got me thinking what is blocking BW to deliver their games at that standards? They dropped the past generation of consoles so I don't see why they cannot achieve this standard. Of course I'm not a developer and maybe is more difficult than I can possibly imagine (if that is the case I'm sorry) however one is wondering if other companies are able to do that with a modern semi open-world game such as MGS5 what is blocking BW from achieving the same standard. Aren't PS4 and Xbox One capable of getting that standard done? Tbh I'm more concerned with fps than with the graphical quality.

Please let's not just start the whole PC master race. We know it on PC it looks and play better it's a fact. However I'm arguing why now isn't possible to have 1080p/60fps on our current-gen console games? If Konami (in reality Kojima team) did it then I cannot think why BW cannot too.

Thank you for your contributions to the thread

P.S. I wish I could edit the title into "ME:A graphics and frame-rate per second debate". Just not to fool anyone. Sorry.

BioWare hasn't announced any details about any of these things for ME:A, so I have no idea where you're getting the idea that anything is stopping them.

Inquisition was in the first year of a new console generation when developers are still figuring out the new tech.

Well I'm getting this idea based on Inquisition. You are right we shall see. However a thread discussing this and showing to BW we care about this detail hopefully can bring their attention. :)

I'll be playing ME:A on my PC at 2160p, and probably 60-100FPS depending on the settings I choose for ME:A... But that's just speculation, until I know the system requirements and technical details (which my PC would exceed).

When I play ME:A on Xbox, it will be with forum users I'm friends with for the MP. So I could really care too much about consoles.

You may be wowed at MGS V on PS4, but then you have not noticed how bad the draw distance is in that game.

I want rich cinematic camera fx and stuff over that at 30fps when I'm playing a Bioware game. DA:I had a pretty solid 30fps performance on PS4 outside of a few scenes. That felt really good to me and on the side I play tons of games including Mass Effect at 60fps. Honestly once you sink your teeth into a game you stop thinking about how bad or good the framerate is, but I much prefer higher settings at 30fps than low settings at 1080p by a longshot.

Well as a PC player, I hope they shoot for graphic quality first and leave the fps uncapped as I can rely on my hardware to get the 60+ fps.   If they simply focused on achieving 60fps first, then they might have to remove a lot of the graphic quality.

Now that they have left the old gen consoles behind, I would think it would be achieveable, but that whole certification process is probably complicated.    If there is a scene that can't hold the 60 fps and drops to 35, do they have to re-write that scene to look crappier?   I don't want them to have to do that.

I see your points I think it's more of a preference. I would be willing to sacrifice some graphical quality for a steady 60 fps. After having played some of the old remaster on 60 fps I realized that gaming feels much better and I think the combat aspect of the game would improve in ME being it a shooter with RPG elements. I do understand your point but I guess it's a matter of personal preferences. I just hope MGS5 will be the first to push the next AAA games to this route (yep those video at 60 fps with fluid movements totally wowed me). I realized for me graphics is not as important as the fps. Tbh I barely see any difference between 1080p and 900p but the fps....I do feel that.

Well good for you that you are a PC player you certainly have more options. I do understand your point about the difficulties of trying to design a game to be 60 fps all the time hence the very premature thread. I think things would be better if they design the game scenes from the beginning by having in mind a game in 60 fps. However I guess like the previous answer I gave this is a matter of preference between graphics vs fps. The latter is something I kind of feel important to me. In a shooting game even more so.

Well even if in ME:A this won't be the case I hope that down the alley they will think about it and consider like the next standard they should achieve.

Indeed even then you don't always guarantee a smooth running game. I'd say give us a game that runs reliably with as few bugs as possible then worry about such things
