"Maker there's no work.. you'd think the temps in the south would be hiring consultants to deal the rebels " . As sat in his chair stirring a gelled chowder... he looked up and saw a rivaini man with a brunette woman at his side waiting to be seated... he was beautiful to look at... ugin leered at the man dressed in casual clothes showing off his tattoos and piercings but showing his badge as first enchanter of minrathous ... it was then he saw it.. " a ragin? Huh a odd clan I thought the circle bred them out..." .ugin was amazed by how another dead clan survived the "passing" as he looked even harder he could read their conversation he was leaving to be the first enchanter at the neromenian circle and would do a stint as well in marothious. The woman was not pleased. He thought it a shame that his next target would be leaving... but he would prepare and stalk his prey.

She heard grunting and sounds that sounded as if slapping liquid. The woman was bound and gagged. As her vision began to focus she saw a man covered in piercings thrusting himself into a object. The judge nodded as he explained how wanted the man known as "first enchanter ragin monkai" for the rite of passing a old rivaini tribal ritual to denote war between clans that followed the older ways. Monkai stood by the window of his office looking at the apprentices gossip and practice their magic. The Neromenian circle was different from the numerous circle, while minrathous had class and beauty the neromenian was more practical and humid. It reminded him of Rivain all that was missing was the smell of the sea.
"This a nice place away from the politics and stagnant air" he said giving a sigh of relief
"Your running away again... you promised!" the seductive yet furious voice shouted. Monkai's mood grew solemn knowing why he took this transfer, he'd come to tevinter to escape his past and the war in the south weaseled his way to his station married into a house he felt no real affiliation for protection against those who sought tear him from his new life... it was a pitiful existence for one like him.
"I know...but this for the best for both of us people are starting to suspect and my research on possession has drawn less than stellar comments."
"I am Scorn and I will not be denied my due, I will not hide like a rat in the street" the voice spoke growing irritated by her partner's weak will.
Monkai knew she was right he had already given up his blood magic, Demonology research, and training methods he was shadow of what he was. Just then the door to his office slammed open as a contigent of guards swords at the ready "First enchanter Ragin Monkai you are under arrest stand down and come with us" the leader of the group said.
"First; I expect to be reimbursed for the door and second; on what charges?" monkai responded hiding his growing anger. " kill them... devour them... scorn whispered into his ear.
"Crimes against the imperium, consorting with multiple enemies of the imperium and corrupting the youth of the imperium" the guard spoke. "Least they didn't fInd out about falsifying citizenship papers" ninja humorously thought. "Yeah I'm not going with you gentleman I'm innocent feel free to show yourselves out"
The guards then decided to him by force the first three moved in surrounding him. They weren't templars simple soldiers that even in his languished state could take on... but monkai hated unfair fights and this felt odd few knew his connections... "Fine if you so persistent I'll go just let me leave a note for my assistant"
pitiful coward[/] scorn said as they were escorted to numerous to face their "trial"

"Apologies Grom but I was aiming for that cat over there haha honest" monkai sarcastically retorted following the the other guard to the magitorium "I'll be sure tell the Senate the good you've done haha.
It had been months since he was here it was beautiful if you didn't notice the snakes around every corner, his only hope is that zara and ukki got the message of his tribunal, ukki was a patient if odd man but this was infuriating due monkai's last minute information and maker preserve him if zara is mad...
There were three judges odd for a tribunal monkai thought sizing up the opposition, the one in the middle was judge Tenvrae at fat gluttonous man that could be bought with urine if offered. The one on the left was judge Darkon a friend well sort of he knew zara and had tea with her daily so there was hope wars pulled some strings, and the last was judge Carasi a hanging judge both figuratively and literally the woman was power-mad she had more executions than Qunari if the reports are to be believed.
"This court is here to discuss first enchanter Ragin Monkai 's crimes against the imperium and corrupting the youth of tevinter how do you plead " judge carasi spoke in a monotonous voice that was so cold that he could feel the air freeze.
"Not guilty and I demand my arbiter " monkai said scratching his rear.
"TRAITORS DON'T GET A SAY!" Tenvrae said with the rolls on his throat wobbling like a gelatinous mass
"sadly he does and by law he gets one judge Tenvrae best remember that we will reconvene in two days until then you will be sent to Serentine the made prison" judge darkon said with a sharp tone that probably shaved few hairs off carasi 's head
monkai was then escorted to his cell pondering what was going on being on tribunal was one thing... but to have carasi something was off and smelt like mother's cooking.

*Footsteps echoed in the dank dungeon corridor. Two men walked through it heading towards a specific cell. They stopped outside the monkai´s cell door. "Please, your honor. The stage is yours", Publius graciously nodded to the judge Tenvrae pointing to the cell.
Both men stepped inside the cell. The judge wringed his arms. He cleared his throat glancing at Publius first with a nervous look. He then proceeded to speak to Monkai. "It seems the charges against your highness were fabricated. We the tribunal have come to the conclusion that this trial is a farce. You have been cleared of all charges, I am really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you". He then turned to look at Publius with a nervously expectant look.
Publius nodded to the man and the judge backed out of the cell looking at his feet turning in haste. His frantic footsteps could be heard from distance.
Publius listened at the door for a while then turned to Monkai with exaggeratedly concerned look on his face. "Magister Vaellanius sends his greetings and hopes to find you in good health". Publius couldn´t stand this upstart who had slithered his way into the family he was hoping to join, but he was given this task and he would do it to the letter. "Your esteemed wife awaits you in the tower of her father. Your presence is expected as soon as possible".
Without waiting Monkai´s response he turned around and walked out of the cell.*

monkai walked into the sunlight casually from the prison. Curious at his predictiment he'd been sent to one of tevinter's prisons, accused of treason, and had a severe headache it felt like the magic in his body was contorting inside him itching to break free.
so who free is the fool arranged our lovely stay scorn joked he knew it was serious if she joked that either meant he was going to have a blackout or be killed neither was preferable.
"We are going to the manor we need to get something"

"Thank you gilas you may leave now" the lady said calmly then turning to her guest. "So not only was my husband imprisoned but now he's free most curious darkon this wouldn't have anything to do with the fact he's a rivaini ?" The lady spoke with tones cold and calculating tone.
"No small talk no, how are you or even a offer of cakes zara hehe" darkon said with a sadistic grin.
"Not for one who holds no alliances and works for his own advancement" she retorted
"Hmph pity but yes some groups find your little pet to be problematic he's not even a laetan he's at best a liberati so the fact he's a first enchanter in a poor circle is because they allow it... they simply making sure he stays in his place and there's a dirty rumour your family allows a abomination to run freely."

"Your welcome by the way getting your post back here in minrathous... "first enchanter"... darkon walked past him smiling ruefully. Monkai could never get a read on him. Darkon was a mage of old laetan lineage he trained under caius personally and at point engaged to zara but turned both her and caius down to go into another house of lesser repute. He was powerful enough to destroy qunari dreadnoughts on his own and fought in the qunari skirmishes that been raging for centuries, but left that to be a magistrate for reasons known only to him... he was a snake no doubt bout that.
Zara noticed monkai enter the manor she smiled and kissed him not noticing the flith on his robes from his stint in arcanuam. "Maker you look horrid and smell of bronto dung" she playfully remarked. "Yeah it's all the rage this season shite and dirt " he responded laughing at the irony that it was in rivain.

In theory the amulet should amplify his power but in practice it caused scorn to become the dominant persona and marginal increase in power.

Monkai walked to the main hall thinking it was a isolated incident... he was wrong so very wrong.. fire was everywhere as well as this mysterious miasma choking the air it was nauseous. Only then did he notice his wedding ring flicker normally it was always red to show the life force of his partner both in case of blood transfusion or as a marker... it was blue the sign of inactivity at best...

He followed the beacon hoping there was enough time. she's dead you know it's blue just like we created it to say he knew she was right she always was blights she designed the relics. He then heard a whisper come from the rubble... it was zara.
" spawns blood no!" Monkai rushed to her side "Mon...kai... " zara coughed blood spewing from her mouth. Half of her was under what was the wall monkai was no healer... but he could tell it mortal... caius was a lenient man only gave him one command protect his daughters and clan... "it's going to be alright.. I promise just stay with me" he said holding her hands comferting her. Here eyes went dark as he pleaded her to hold on til the healers came... it was then a loud laughter almost cliché came from the courtyard

Monkai stormed to the courtyard to see who it was mocking passing of his wife. Its a dark skinned man judging from his piercings he was rivaini... a member of tribe sokai "you did this! Monkai shouted rage boiling over losing his serenity..
"Aye "the man chuckled "sela Petra and shite make for beautiful explosions don't they yea?"
His calviler demeanor sickened him he was mad dog that needed to be put down... it was the least he could for her... "alright sokai you like explosions I'll give you some he pulled his staff of silvetite and extended it to it full length and conjured a ball of fire and flung as if he was playing wallop. the Sokai dodged gracefully dancing about as the explosions graced his jerkin. The sokai threw a small orb in to monkai's face. It was magebane stuff that temporaryly disrupted a mage 'mana. "**** "he exclaimed wiping the fluid from his eyes as his vision cleared he noticed another orb at his feet and a flash of red light engulfed him.
Monkai laid there broken and bleeding... your always getting hurt always dying always... not today not while I exist scorn said. IT was then a surge of light enveloped him healing what wound that were mortal "this ends here!" His voice echo with power
"That it does ragin that it does " the sokai then whistled sharply calling a forth a wyvern and made for his escape. Monkai charged after him failing to notice a caltrap that sent him back and creating the same miasma but more potent paralyzing him " the names ugin the crafty memorize it brother! " ugin cackled as he rode off from the battle.
As he regained his composure monkai fell to the ground... bleeding again he'd hoped for a painless lecture from caius at best and painless death if not... for now he was content to rest and heal what he could

*Caius stood silently next to Zera´s bed Like a statue in the dim chamber. He watcher her slow breathing. She was still alive. Barely, after the blood spell Caius had cast on her. A bloody bandage was still wrapped around her head. Guards carried a dead body out of the chamber wrapped in sheets. Someone had to be sacrificed, and a slave had to give his life for her. It had been a close call, and she would have perished if Caius had not performed the ritual. Her life was saved, but she had fallen into a coma.
Nazlik stood in the corner watching over Caius. She had always liked Zera, her sudden meet with death had shaken her too. And Caius... Dark shadow covered his face, he had terrifyingly calm look on his face. But Nazlik could see the murderous rage storming inside him. A single muscle twitched on his cheek, the only sign of his real emotion.
"I want the one responsible for this", Caius whisper was barely audible, the chill in his voice made Nazlik shiver. Caius turned his dark eyes to Livia. Livia nodded worried, this had happened on her watch. She was responsible for the safety of Caius daughters. Caius stared at her with his emotionless eyes, they were like black holes in his face.
"I want the one responsible for this", he said again with a hollow voice. "I... I will get right on it" Livia wheezed and left the room. She could not look into his eyes. She had not seen Caius like this, and it scared her.

It had been a close call, and she would have perished if Caius had not performed the ritual. Her life was saved, but she had fallen into a coma.
Nazlik stood in the corner watching over Caius. She had always liked Zera, her sudden meet with death had shaken her too. And Caius... Dark shadow covered his face, he had terrifyingly calm look on his face. But Nazlik could see the murderous rage storming inside him. A single muscle twitched on his cheek, the only sign of his real emotion.
"I want the one responsible for this", Caius whisper was barely audible, the chill in his voice made Nazlik shiver. Caius turned his dark eyes to Livia. Livia nodded worried, this had happened on her watch. She was responsible for the safety of Caius daughters. Caius stared at her with his emotionless eyes, they were like black holes in his face.

*"You knew of this person", Caius deceptively calm voice echoed in the grand hall. He had brought Monkai to his own manor and arranged a official meeting in the great hall. A line of guards stood by the isle both sides where Monkai stood at the bottom of the stairs.
Caius sat in his throne decorated with Vaellanius crest at the top of the stairs, the family banner hanging on the wall behind him. Nazlik stood silently in the side of the throne in her glimmering armor. Both Livia and Gallus stood at the steps before the seat looking at Monkai indifferently, there were no hint of what they were thinking.
Silence lingered for a while as Caius gazed at monkai with cold eyes. "You knew and did not come to me about him". There was a underlying threat in his voice.
"And now she is dead... ", Caius whispered with a cold tone. " ...tell him".
Livia had a scroll in her hand which she pulled oped clearing her throat, her clear voice echoed in the hall. "Monkai, by the edict of Imperial Divine and the conclave of the Grand Clerics your marriage with Zera Ophelia Vaellanius is invalidated. This edict is put into operation starting today". She hushed down wrapping the scroll regaining her indifferent look.
Caius stood up, with a final tone in his cold voice. "Your position in the family is now on hold. Unless you deliver to me this assailant called Ugin I will have you removed from my house". the apartment was a mess ugin knew a close quarters fight with a mage was suicide but with a deft hand and spark of fire he tossed a grenade at darkon exploding in his face. Darting out into the street
Darkon coughed the miasmic smoke away inhaling it. it was a matter of time before he would feel the effects. "Clever little ****" he gave chase while grabbing his boots and coat.
With darkon chasing him, ugin feel the blood rush to his lions being the hunted always gave him a thrill that and wholesale murder. Dropping random orbs he laid a chokepoint hoping it would kill monkai's last support and so he would be able to proceed with his agenda.
As darkon caught up with ugin the orbs glowed and exploded with shrapnel and miasma ,killing nearby bystanders who looked at the chase with bilwildment . Had it not been for a quick barrier he would been killed there " NICE TRY RUNT TAKE THAN PARLOR TRICKS TO STOP ME!. He shouted
"I hope love hate to lose my sword for ya so quickly... that's what she said " ugin retorted hysterically laughing.

It was a warehouse spacious and free from distractions ugin had led them here the entire day creating havoc throughout the city. "Tired already... shame I was just getting warmed up!" Darkon said conjuring his mana to unleash a most devasting attack this ware house will his grave he thought.
Ugin whistled sharply as if calling for a dog. And from the shadows leaped a wyvern tightly gripping darkon's entire arm crushing bone and muscle. He shouted in pain and the more he shouted the more the beast mauled. " I see you met Susie play nice " ugin sarcastically said not stifling his insane laughter to the point of coughing. Darkon fought with the beast trying to keep it from killing him but his mana was gone it was the miasma from before it made him a mundane. But mana comes in many forms as he began summoning his mana from his blood a sigil on the beast's neck glowed... and with a clap from ugins hands a flash of red light devoured darkon.
Red smoke filled the air and left a coppery scent the beast was gone ugin would miss his pet but to him it was a proper and "funny" send off. "Blood and damnation I thought would smell like candy " he laughed
"Candy... I'll give you candy... a whole basket! " said darkon as the smoke cleared covered in blood. His entire right arm was gone as well his left eye. Most would be dead from that but a quick barrier saved him... most of him. He then used his pain and agony as a focus drawing upon the forbidden school of blood. He unleashed a torrent of bloody spikes at ugin. He tried to dodge the spikes but the speed was unreal many if they hit him would have surely killed him. Ugin threw three daggers coated in fire at darkon as a distraction but they we're doused by the blood and fell flat
Then came the city templars it was time to make his escape darting atop of boxes out a window into the aqueducts, even if he wasn't dead he was surely a none threat. His next target would hopefully be more fun

"I'm zara thank you how much will it be?" She replied grabbing her coin pouch. With a sneer the courier said "your life Milady " the courier threw the package at zara knocking her down. He then jumped on top of her putting all his weight on to her. "I'm going to enjoy this... you might not!" The assailant cackled, he then bit her neck drawing blood and as he raised his head blood streamed from her neck into his mouth. "GET OFF!" zara exclaimed summoning mana and releasing it into a telekinetic force sending him into the ceiling and landing on the ground.
"Oh you I like and I thought it would be a boring job" the courier joked regaining his composure. "Who are you to lay a hand on the heir to house vallinoius"
"A simple man who dreams of destruction and madness to a fellow countryman and all that he holds dear" the courier cackled. Zara wondered why would anyone go after kai he was a pacifist bordering on cowardice at times and kept a low profile. So you we're we're the one who brought back to minrathous and framed him."
"Aye I did wasn't cheap telling the guards bout him cost a nice sovereign or six" the courier said smiling.
Zara was enraged that a fool like him would embarrass her and family, combat magic wasn't her forte but she figured she could take a mundane. She moved her hands gesturing mana to unleash a fist of gravity thought destroy him. The courier clapped his hands and the package that he'd thrown glowed red and a thunderous roar erupted from it enveloping her and the manor.

She stumble from her bed wincing in pain from inactivity. Just then the door burst open it's her sisters cassi and miril they were ecstatic that their sister awoke
"Oh thank the maker your awake much has happened " she rapidly explained forgetting to breath. Cassia knocked her head with her staff telling her to slow down. "Perhaps I should be the one to tell her... you deliver this to you know who." Cassia gave miril a covered pole like item and shooed her to to her task.
"Now this is the situation " cassia begun.

She picked up a book from the desk Abominations and symbiotic relationships it was his grimore than he'd penned when he arrived in minrathous... it was a boring read. Miriel shook him awake " package dear elder brother" she said whimsical in tone. Monkai awoke drool covering his chin hair. "You shouldn't call me that I'm a exile remember " he said wiping the drool.
"I know but family is family " she said knowing the truth. "Anyway package " she presented the covered rod. Monkai took the parchment off revealing his staff from the manor it was cover in soot hiding it's silverite glow. "Perfect thought I lost this thing" he looked upon the ornamentation a snake eating it's tail... to him it meant everything would work out. "Thanks squirt must have been a hassle, how is everyone" monkai asked. "Father is still furious, cassia is still mean and sarcastic, I'm good and zara is dead just another Tuesday" monkai found it odd she'd mentioned zara's death but put it out of his mind. Ugin dodged the blasts reaching for a grenade but realizing he had run out and traded for knives throwing those instead. One had hit his leg and another grazed his neck missing his juglar he needed a break.. "come on love entertain me " ugin said as he charged directly at him. "Your sodding insane you know that" monkai said as he charged up for another volley.
Monkai launched a massive bolt of entropy it hit ugin creating a deep hole threw his right side. Ugin finally stopped.. it couldn't have been that easy... ugin stood up cracking his neck. "Whoo that was fun!" He said ,outstreching his hands began summoning multiple demons. They were demons of unknown origin them we're odd to look upon. Miriel hid behind the templars they each fell one by one being ripped apart and eaten. One leaped to devour her but was banished by a unknown spell. Darkon limped to the battle he was still injured and exhausted from the pain. "Leave some for me will ya?" He wheezed

ugin was still alive he began to to crawl toward monkai slowly rising to him ,while zara helped him to his feet and carried him to the infirmery. "The fun couldn't be over yet..it's just starting. " he thought. As he stood up blood from his wound bleeding profusely he saw his would victims helping each other to receive medical attention. It sickened him to see them ignoring him... "NO! THERE ARE NO HAPPY ENDINGS FOR ANYBODY!" Ugin shouted. Sigils began forming on his body "WE ARE ALL GOING TOGETHER! " the sigil we're ready and as he clapped his hands togethor he felt cramped. A ball of red light roared as it erupted... but their was no shock wave... just pulpy mass of bone and sinew.
" Disgusting..." monkai said hand outstretched. He had created a barrier of sorts around him. He removed himself from zara and stumbled to the remains of his foe.. It figured that his head would remain giving one last smile as some sick joke. He took the head as proof of kill for caius.

Caius granted them audience a week after the battle. He sat in his throne tapping his finger on the the armrest as monkai led the briefing on ugin, the sokai tribe and their abilities. "So you endanger my children but you get results.... I will decide your fate with this house later for now a reward. Caius rose from his seat summoning his staff and stepped down from his throne. He approached the one eyed and armed darkon "while we haven't spoke in sometime I appreciate your aide in this matter, I present you this signifying your alliance to my house." Darkon nodded in approval. He moved to his daughters he said nothing just holding the tree of them tightly almost choking them. "Papa.. can't breath... "miriel said in a whisper. "I am most proud of you miri you may not have the gift but from what monkai said you fought as a vallious " caius said holding back his tears.
Finally he made his way to monkai. It was a cold silence.. caius struck in his face busting his lip. "You still stand with us?" Caius asked. Monkai looked at him and said "yes"

Zara walked by him "so ready to go home love?" . "Yeah just have to finish a class and some paper work" monkai replied. "Shame I'll be getting a head start " she said walking away.
He outstretched his hand toward the sun it was a new day and a new adventure was on the horizon
