Act 121: snapped

Seven looked upon monkai her vision restoring he was covered in fire and his eyes demonic. She heard rumors of his power and listened to his lectures ,but what she saw was beyond words as fear pierced her heart, she ran into the tunnels hoping to escape the monster she saw.

Monkai snapped his fingers setting Seven ablaze listening to her scream as she ran. "Get her breathing .. then take her home..."monkai said to Galatea. Galatea listened to his voice it had a hint of feminity to it and his eyes glowed as he burned his skin fine, it was beautiful to her. "Ragin I don't know if..." she said her voice cracking.

"If she dies.. I'll rip your whoring heart out and devour it.. "monkai promised her. He was beyond tolerating any mistake, he knew there was no coming back from what he was going to do... he only killed in self defense and never women or kids... but for the one who took his apprentice he would gleefully make a exception.

"Please.. go easy on her.. she's not well" Galatea asked as monkai walked down the tunnel hunting his prey.

Seven leaned against a wall feeling her body heal itself normally it was a painless matter but her skin continued to burn the more she heal. "It hurts.. it really hurts.. where's papa.. I have to find papa" she cried using the wall as support.

"Come out come out where ever you are.. I can smell your flesh burning... make this easy on yourself and die quietly.. no actually loudly" monkai echoed ominously though the tunnel. Seven shrieked as he heard him quicking her pace hoping he wouldnt find her. Monkai followed the trail of blood burnt pieces of flesh, reveling in his prey's condition. He saw her trip and crawl he snapped his fingers setting her ablaze over and over her screams could be heard throughout minrathous

"Hmm I don't heal that fast and I'm the genuine article... maybe xaras did something right plagiarizing my work... just don't die til you learn your lesson " monkai said to Seven, her skin charred and blood but repairing itself. Monkai never relished in his power always used it with respect... but he was becoming what he strove to prove he wasn't.

"Your... a abomination.. " Seven said looking at him. She began to regret harming her victim and begging for her papa to save her.

"Pfft shut up and burn" monkai said letting out another volley burning Seven.a sadistic smile grew on his face.

Galatea poured a poultice down coldi's throat massaging her neck to make it all went down " come princess breath just a little. Your brother will kill me if you don't " Galatea said shaking her to wake up. She looked at coldi imaging she looked like that twenty years ago. She laid coldi down compressing her chest breathing into her. Galatea heard sevens screams and saw the bright light from the tunnel. "Makers grace will he stop?" She said trying to drown out the horrible screams, no matter what Seven did she would always remember the small little girl she protected as a child. Galatea felt a faint beat from coldi's heart. "Now are getting somewhere princess keep it up"

Monkai wheezed as he let Seven get and walk forward her robe was tattered and burnt, her skin smelled of dung. "Please stop.. it hurts"she cried limping away.

"Is that what she said! " monkai shouted as he lit her a flame engulfing her entire body. Seven collapsed smoldering weeping "stop the fire hurts and Burns" she said.

"Do you know why i use spirit based magic's.. its cause it's painless.. and a defensive school. But fire.. that a proper school for trash like you.. savages who think it's cute to act like the maker." Monkai said stomping on seven's spine, she screamed as she felt her bones in her back shatter. "Go on heal your broken spine then get back up so I can knock you back down " monkai said kicking her into the wall.

Seven spewed blood from her mouth as one of her ribs punctured her lung. "I'm.. sorr..." she whispered crying. "I want my papa"

"Oh you'll see him soon... but not before I experiment on you.. I like that trick you have.. let's see how much it works." Monkai said watching seven stand up coughing blood. He pitied her when he heard of xaras's work but anything like that evaporated when they took his Ward from him.

Seven threw shards of ice at him landing into his chest. Monkai looked at the shard in him, he struck Seven in her face his fist augmented by force magic sent her through three walls. "So your a thief as well a murder.. that was coldi's spell... no death is too good for you!" He said snapping his fingers causing sevens arm and leg to explode with fire.

Seven screamed as her limbs were destroyed. She wondered how long the monster's torture would last seeing her limbs unable to regenerate. "Don't worry I carturized the wounds... we still have all night long.." monkai said stomping on her hand feeling the bones splinter under his boot. Seven closed her eyes not wanting to look at the monster.

"Enough! She's no good dead" Galatea said holding coldi

"Stay out of this! Mage business... " monkai said lighting Seven on fire for the umpteenth time. Her screams curled Galatea 's blood she saw the insane and frenzied look upon his face like a mad wild dog.

"Mas..ter..." cold I croaked her breathing shallow and strained. Monkai's face relaxed as he heard her voice his heart renewed. But as much wanted to care for his Ward.. he had a rabid dog to deal with. He kicked seven's face knocking five teeth from her mouth and unconscious "back to the house then... we have a guest to entertain" monkai said his body returning to normal and dragging his captive by the hair. He kept his promises and he promised her a night of punishment

Act 122 :punishment

Monkai swung the door open for Galatea carrying a barely conscious coldi and him carrying a charred woman. "Zera! Coldi's not well!" He shouted.

Zera rushed from the kitchen looking at coldi feeling for a sign of life. "Its faint.. but she's alive. What in the void happened

"Less tally more magey healing " Galatea said as she carried coldi to the table undoing her blouse and collar to show zera the extent of her injuries.

Zera looked at coldi's abdomen looking at the dark spots on her slowly spreading "internal bleeding... and it looks like a ruptured appendix " zera said "what happened "

Monkai slammed his captive to the floor slowly crushing her skull "xaras and this piece filth did something to her.. but I'll get it out of her" he said gleefully as Seven moaned.

Zera saw what he was doing to the woman while she understood and sympathized with his current state... it wasn't like him at all, it was cruel,barbaric, and monstrous. "Dear.. not here.. I need to work" zeta said fearful never seeing how angery he was.

Monkai dragged Seven by her arm fracturing it in his grip he threw her tumbling down stone stairs to his laboratory hearing a loud crack as she stopped. " help her... please..." he said. His voice was remorseful knowing at what he planned to do and how he hated who he was becoming. He closed the door to his lab.

"Get me a knife from the kitchen and the rum I need to drain the build up and then I can heal what I can" zera said to Galatea rolling up her sleeves

Seven wimped as she hung from her chain. Her arm was pulled above her head she she tried to move but her arm was dislocated. Her missing limbs dripping blood

"Now we are going to play a game... you answer my questions.. I might burn you ash... if not... well I'll make your shorting existence a nightmare you can only dream of" monkai said cracking his fingers

Seven saw the murderous intent in his eyes"first question where's xaras

Coldi moaned as zera cut her blood seeped from her stomach. "Just hold on sweetie big sisters here.." zera said drawing a another cut in her stomach. She found the damage extensive wondering what xaras did to her.

Galatea poured rum over coldi's cuts her wounds bubbled and healed instantly. Galatea stepped back "what the **** kinda rum is that!" She shouted sniffing the contents of the bottle

Zera shrugged at what saw as well "it's just cheap rum! It should do that" she said. She looked back to coldi the black spots became lighter and smaller. "What did they do to you..."

Seven screamed til her throat bled, crying out for her papa as monkai cut off her fingers one by one leaving her only three. "Tell me what I need to know.. no one will hear you... so stop screaming " monkai said holding her face his grip fracturing her jaw and teeth.

Seven began to think her healing ability was a curse.. she would heal bone and flesh but the more he amputated her body the stronger her pain was and the less she could heal. "Please papa stop... I'll be good.. I promise.. I do that thing you like" Seven pleaded delirious thinking monkai was xaras.

"I'll stop when you tell me where I am." Monkai said releasing his grip

Seven giggled maniacally "I'll never tell" she said before monkai poured a vial down her mouth. He set her mouth aflame listening to her garbled screams as her layrenx burned.

"I'm running out of patience.. tell me what I need to know..." monkai said watching Seven cough bloody mist.

"We left the clinic... after the market experiment but you left somewhere after to played with the girl... remember papa " Seven said her voice hoarse.

Monkai was sated for the moment with her disclosure but now had hunt down xaras in a massive city "****.." he said before setting her ablaze hoping by morning she would be ash

Coldi breathed steadily as zera focused her mana into her she was able to heal her condition but was exhausted from the endeavor. "Leasts she's breathing " Galatea said catching zera as she fell her nose bled and her eyes bloodshot.

"Yeah the rest is up to her and the maker " zera said falling unconscious. Monkai entered the room where coldi was seeing Galatea carry zera to the couch.

"How is she."

"Your woman said she fine but its even odds"

"She'll pull through.. she has to.." monkai said carrying her to her room thinking if she dies tomorrow she's do it it at home, in her own bed

Act 123 :breaking point

the man sat in horror wetting himself as the man made of fight stepped to him. "Look we can work this out, I can give you money ,women, men! Anything " the man said as the burning grabbed his head the man could feel his skull cracking and splintering into his brain.

"Xaras.. where is he" the burning asked his voice echoing with rage

"I swear I don't know I just deliver the goods" the man cried. The burning crushed the begging mans head, his hand crimson.

"I'm coming for you..."

Monkai sat at coldi's side hiding his head in his hands stained with blood. He watched her sleep when he could, wondering how xaras got to her. He heard zera open the door.

"Dear your guest is awake.. what did you do to her.."zera asked. Monkai could feel her concern for him as she placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Blood woman won't die will she.. three days of immolation and she still lives... perhaps a beheading would work" monkai said rising from his chair. His tone brought fear to zera's heart, she had found his demeanor and words disconcerting at best the past few days.

"Dear I understand what your going through but you haven't slept or eaten... think about what coldi would want.

Monkai's mind clung to memories of coldi smiling and causing missteps in her training "she doesn't need to know what I've done... release the woman... let her die of infection or something I no longer care " he said his voice hollow reminding zera of her father, voice was solemn like his,echoing regret.

Monkai leaned against the bookcase in caius's study waiting for him to return. He had come unannouced causing a stir among the apprentices,they looked at him in pity and fear in equal measure. He was once their instructor teaching them control and discipline.. now they knew him as the exile and cautionary tale of no matter how powerful you were you were still expendable.

Hotus walked to him bowing polity before him. "Ah master Ragin a pleasure to see you magister vallenious will be here shortly " he said. It had been months since monkai saw him his hand twitched his voice made him to murder him where he stood damning the consequences.

"Hotus.. I have a headache... and your voice is indescribably annoying.. so get the old man... before I feed you to the wolves... " monkai said closing and opening his hand begging for a excuse he had already murdered slavers for simply talking to xaras the past nights one more "associate" wouldn't hurt the thought

beloved not here it's too open and we need to save our strength you haven't rest or eaten in days.. Scorn whispered trying to calm him down she felt their bond strenghten and weaken as her shut hurt out ,fulfilling her purpose but hurting her in return. Monkai held his head it felt as if a spike was being hammered into him he shooed hotus away and looked at the other students as they saw him hunched over "can I help you ne'er do Wells " he said

Caius listened to monkai give vague details on xaras, it was becoming oddly humourous to him how the boy would come to him for help despite putting his family in jeapordy time and time again. "So you see a fan who has stolen your work " caius asked folding his hands as if expecting a different answer

"Yeah.. I've looked for him in the city but he's a no show so you going to help or not." Monkai said knowing he should be tactful or at the least honest.

"Well we can't allow abominations to run amok can we boy.. but I see the look in your eye... this isn't about research.. this is something more" caius said. He lacked knowledge of his former first enchanters dealings but he knew vengeance where he saw it. "I know you hunt this man down to what end I do not care.. but vengeance poisons the soul. Makes the man strong but clouds his vision makes him a liability to those he cares about. While I won't dissuade you from your intentions I won't allow you to harm my child nor affect my plans. I say this not as your master.. but friend. Probably your only friend that knows what your thinking of... a man can have anything if he sacrifices but a can have more if waits."

Monkai clenched his fist drawing blood "what right does he have to tell me what to do" he thought thinking that he just some old geezer trying to control everything he did. "Look just give me what came for and I'll be on my way. Save the speech for somebody who needs it" he shouted at him.

Caius pulled a file from his desk throwing it to monkai "there you go lad last known location. Remember what I said. What kind of man will you be "

Lol yeah it's nothing personal he just doesn't react well to figures of authority but caius in his own way does try to steer him right even after what went down and that causes him to push back when there's no cause. Typical youth right lol.

Plus anyone old than him is a hag or geezer lol

Totally! I mean, Caius is a PITA if you're on the wrong side of him. Elowyn's just managed to wrap him around her little finger is all. (she doesn't really think he's like a father, she just said that to the demons to get them off her back)

The fun thing was that Caius actually likes monkai but his affairs got Zera in harms way and that is something Caius can't stand.

Act 124: mercy

Galatea looked at seven ,heart broken by her appearance. She was one armed and legged, missing two of her fingers, her skin flaked off her face as her body healed what it could. Galatea wanted unbind her and give her water and food but monkai had forbade anyone from helping her and she reeked of feces and urine. Galatea knew her new associate could be furious,but never cruel like xaras.

"Pretty pretty girl hanging by metal" seven muttered

"Only music she hears and chained ugly ugly girl soaring in the wind" Galatea said remember ing that was their rhythm during the nights after xaras touched her. She pulled a knife from her belt and held seven rubbing her face against her tenderly "I love seven your my daughter and sister.. I'm so sorry I didn't protect you.." Galatea whispered tears in her eyes ,she kissed her cheek and plunged her knife into sevens heart. Seven spat blood from her mouth as she drove the blade deeper,she let out a small breath looking at Galatea, the life from her eyes faded as she went limp.

Galatea unbound her gently laying her down and closing her closes. "Its over now.. sleep and let the monsters go away" she said tears falling to sevens face. She took her knife and Carved the number Seven into her arm next to the other numbers she failed striking it out

Zera tended to coldi stroking her face as she slept,waking only to spout obscenities. " hmph strong girl.. keep fighting your master needs you more than you both realize " she whispered placing a warm rag on her head. Galatea entered the room quiet as a rat in the rafters. "Do you mind if I borrow your spade and garden... I have matter to do " Galatea said clearing her throat and looking at the garden.

"What are you moving! No" zera said turning to her, realizing she was crying. "Whats wrong..."

"Nothing just.. give the spade and space " Galatea said wiping her face. Zera saw the blood on her vest and neck wondering what she did. "I see.. there's a spot behind the crystal grace...the spade out there. "

Galatea dug for hours, caked in dirt,her hands blistered and bloody. Clouds formed in the sky and rain slowly fell, she looked to the sky a drop of rain hit her eye as tears fell from her eyes. "I'm sorry Seven I'm so sorry... I'm sorry" she said looking at the covered body. She dug the entire night quietly weeping as zera stood watching her from the window

Yeah.. euthinaisa.. is a a heavy subject.. I think sometimes to spare somebody you care about unimaginable pain it's better to help them along. Seven has suffered serious damage not only physically but mentality.

And we all say eunthinasia is a mercy thing but how does that affect people how does one cope with morality and stress

I don't know if the mercy is for the dying or the bereaved. One can never get rid of the guilt, or the feelings that one could have done more or made different choices. Even if one is a victim herself, like Galatea.

Act 125: indifference

xaras walked among the slaves looking at how each had a feature that he sought, "the elves had latent magic in their blood diluted by human intervention, the humans were adaptable and even while enslaved enjoyed privilege among slaves. But elf-bloods gain no benefits from the union..." he thought. His mind ran with theories on race when he realized Seven had been missing along with the zakum girl. "Oh yes that's right... Seven decided to play in the sewers again..." he said chuckling. Seven had been missing for days but xaras merely gave it a passing thought not a wonder if his subject fought back. Whether she lived or died was irrelevant she was a failed project and he had no need of failures

Xaras entered the sewers complaining how the smell caused his back to ache. He knew how seven would take his subjects down her hiding them like a dog would a bone thinking it's master didn't know. It was humorous that she was scavenging off real academics.

He noticed scorch marks creating a trail. "Interesting.. the zakum girl wasn't skilled in pyromancy... odd" xaras said dragging his fingers against the marks, feeling burnt flesh in the ground. He followed the marks and felt how the veil weakened as the scorched walls got darker and darker. "It would appear a creature of the fade was here..."

Monkai found a decrepit manor he could feel the veil's weaken presence. He had always hated the veil, gave him headaches in areas where it was weak and it distorted spirits that crossed it warping them into mindless monsters devoid of potential. Monkai kicked the door open splintering it, the foyer was covered in dust and spider webs. "Maker's breath..." he said following the foot prints to the cellar.

He saw cages littered with skeletons the size of children and the room reeks of death and decay, making him ill. He looked at the table smelling bottles each smelt like enhancements potent enough that the imbibing would kill on contact. "Was this where he did it.. coldi, the children, Seven and galatea." He whispered putting the last bottle down, he saw a stack of old journals and a book titled "symiotes myths and facts". "Xaras had already planned a manuscript it seems" he thought taking it into his pouch along with the other journals their weight felt as of decades of research had been down. Monkai looked the cages one more time, snapping his finger igniting the laboratory watching his fire burn. "So close..so very close"
