74: deception and reaffirmment

zera slapped monkai in his face, her nail cutting his face...
"You lied to me!, you said you knew nothing of nardeth." She said furious.

"I was trying to protect you. To you it's a story told to kids but it's my family's shame." Monkai said his wound healing.

" you did it to protect yourself! And I'm not stupid Adris was saying something before he corrected himself... is ragin monkai your real name? " she screamed hitting him again

"Yes and no... ragin is the clan name yes I am in full in ragin but it's dead I'm the last.. but monkai is the false part." He said shameful, they were all lies of omissions harmless til now... but the guilt felt the same..Coldi and elywon looked at him, he could feel their judgment, he was losing friends he thought.

"No more lies. Tell me everything if you love me! We are trying to have a child! I can't trust you til I know!" Zera shouted then sitting down grunting in frustration.

"My real name... Mathisa ragin... i gave it up when I died. Monkai was taken since it made funny pun and few would care. I am the heir to nardeth the spiritual..."

Monkai spent the remainder of the day and night talking about his childhood, adris, nardeth's true tale, everything. It felt good opening up again and Scorn was surprisingly supportive all things considered.

"T*ts master heavy " coldi said trying to move her arm to no success.

"Yeah... kinda similar " elywon said.

"Your still? " monkai said to elywon.

"Hey I can stay for a while or tell my master "

"Stay, sit, drink"

Zera was pensive she listened to everything reviewing her notes. "Is that everything? " she said her voice cold as ice. Monkai and agreed almost begging her to believe him. He never lied bout his feeling for her.

"So what's the plan love " zera said

"Yeah master monkai I'm game for anything " Coldi said jumping up wincing in pain.

"We obviously kill him and bury what ever research he has. I don't trust any relics from a dead era." Monkai decreed

"Easier said than done! He has a natural rebound "elywon said

She was right he was powerful hedge and in theory unbeatable... "we'll work on that but let's focus on the bodyguards waste them that should make our jobs easier. Monkai said. One more ghost... to put away then I'm free

If Zera wants Adris and his associates to disappear, all she needs to do is tip her father. Caius will most likely know soon anyway, he has his agents watching over his daughters.

Act 75: plan the plan

monkai waited for his contact at the wh*re's gambit, he was late he was on a time table. He had to stop adris's mad plan to steal his inheritance and nip this incident in the bud before caius found out. He had spies everywhere, and elywon was unpredictable.

"You call my friend" darkon said breaking him away from his thoughts.

"You bring my information? " monkai said impatiently

"Aye here's the records on the ones known as Susa and Gend . The magistra will pay hansomly for their removal." Darkon said tossing him a scroll

"Don't care her business " monkai said leaving.

"Your welcome! Cost me a eye and arm "Darkon said sarcastically

Susa kissed Gend's chest making her way down dragging her nails down his chest and devouring his member. Their love was unspeakable, but they just didn't understand the bond between siblings... the purest kind of love. She removed herself from him stroking his tool "maybe you are the big brother and I the little sister " she cooed rubbing him against her breast letting slime coat her bussom.

Gend on the other hand silently looked at his sister her blonde hair matching his and her face like his. He loved as much she loved him. She pulled down her undergarment tossing it at his face, bending over showing her soggy womanhood

"Come big brother punish your naughty little sister.." susa commanded shrieking as he plunged into her

The residents of house Ragin sat around the table reviewing their targets.

"Ugh gross they are twins and they do that!" Coldi said throwing the scroll back.

"Alledgly... what two adults do is their business " monkai said rubbing his stubble. "They'll be dead soon anyway "

"Nonetheless it's still odd but they are mercenaries perhaps if we persuade them we can avoid a fight" zera said placing her hand on chin. She read their history, being born slaves and made to partake in sick games no child should do. She felt pity they'd have to be possibly killed, not getting a real chance as childhood.

"Does caius know what happened I saw Lydia after I met with Darkon " monkai said scribbling on the table.

"No just that we had argument about a client for a delivery " zera said "lying to father is easy but he'll find out if don't nip this in the bud."

Monkai was shocked she lied to caius the man could tell he was lying but bought her's... he wondered what secrets she kept. "Excellent let's find nardeth's tomb. I have a idea where if it's in northern tevinter after we waste my grandfather "

"Thought you didn't care about the relic" coldi questioned.

"I don't but I don't intend for caius's delusions of grandeur or adris's insanity to mess with things beyond their control. Rest up we have a long party to attend

Act 76: a master's fury

monkai reviewed his maps trying to find nardeth's tomb. Adris said it was north but all there was just forests and open water. He pondered that he was wrong and just got confused, Adris wasn't the best reader he last knew.

"Vhenhidis fasstavas " monkai shouted throwing the map and notes onto the floor of his study. He hadn't slept for two days and zera and coldi we're preparing for the twins. He had no one to confer with aside from Scorn.

take a break beloved let your body and mind rest Scorn echoed. "I need to work but after I promise" monkai said rubbing his eyes removing crusted mucus from them.

Monkai knew he had to see Caius to gain access to his maps and books... he dreaded meeting him.. but to protect his friends and wives, he'd risk it.

Monkai used a key to the sewers under vallinous manor in dead of night and entered unseen, avoiding glyphs and knocking guards unconscious making sure they look like they were sleeping.

He snuck into the study looking for what he sought. He took a old map that cracked due to age putting it in a tube and putting it in his satchel. He saw a book titled "the up standing night" snickering at how the old man liked smut, he took that as well.. if only to read.

"You play a dangerous game boy.." a cold voice said that chilled monkai's spine.

"Hey pops" he said turning to face caius his gaze cold and menacing.

"Stealing from me boy how far have you fallen" caius said to him waving his hand.

Monkai felt the paralysis set in he breathed slowly undoing the spell. "Learn a new trick they only work once with me."

Caius stroked his chin "it would appear so... return what you stole and I'll allow you to leave.."

"Sorry but zera will kill me if I did"

"So you turned my child against me..." caius shouted voice booming." I know she lied and know of your incident "

"Which one.. been having a lot lately "

"A elven man who seeks a relic".. caius said "you will get it for me.."

Monkai listened to his words he didn't know it was his grandfather or how things got out of hand...

"Fine later geezer" he said walking past caius avoiding eye contact "I'll bring these back later" he whispered.

Monkai walked through the sewers thinking of how lucky he was that caius didn't press the issue hoping he'd just think it was just a spat between father and child. He felt time itself shorten he had to accelerate his plans and try to come out on top... or at least alive

she's hanging out there last I remember and the party is set at a different timeline bout a few weeks before this arc and is only tangently related to the story

"Monkai, I can help you with Adris, but my plan won't work if he can deflect my spell back onto me. I need you to immobilize him so I can cast Sleep. Then we'll see what's in his head. Are you looking for something specific? I can't believe he's your grandfather!"

* monkai listened to her words...* "I'll figure something out... and keep it to yourself I value my privacy " he said to elywon making sure she listened.

"Just do reconisance ... discreetly"

::Elowyn felt a strong urge to confess the strange goings-on at Monkai's house to her Master. She bit her lip, wondering what to do. She didn't want to betray her friend, but she also didn't want to get in trouble with Caius or cause another disaster. It seemed that every time she got involved with Monkai and his family, the world went topsy-turvy - it was almost like being in the Fade.::

 

"Send me a message when you're ready to confront him," she said, getting ready to return to her Master's house.

Monkai noticed elywon's distress knowing her situation.

"Will do just be ready... soon who knows we might be friends after this" he said cracking a sly smile.

Act 77 : family vs family

Zera and Coldi arrived at a old farm on the outskirts of minrathous . They found it from the scroll darkon gave monkai, it was overly detailed and gave this location as the twins last known location.

"Man for a bunch of weirdos they picked quaint place" coldi said kicking over the fence.

"I don't know.... it's kinda romantic... in a warped way" zera said adjusting her armor. Silverite covered her chest and abdomen to protect herself,She was no combat mage but she wasn't foolish and traded her skirt for rugged . Coldi also decided to equip herself with arment wearing blue variant of zera's attire. This was to be her first battle she felt nervous masking it in humor and indifference

Coldi searched the barn for the twins. Zera told her to split up to cover more ground, it sounded like a good idea but found it unnerving by being alone.

A sharp whistle pierced the air and into her shoulder, coldi swore at the pain. "Who the.."

She drew another arrow from her quiver rubbing it against her lips coating it in lipstick. Susa cocked her bow pointing her finger, aiming her shot at coldi's neck "good night little one may the maker shower you in his embrace " she said releasing the arrow.

Coldi heard the whistle again and encased herself in a wall of ice shattering the arrow. "Found you inbreed "she cried throwing ice shaped daggers at her target

Zera heard the sounds of coldi's magic she had found one of them. She ran to help her, but the wall bursted and a large man swung his blade nearly beheading her. Zera stumble back into a table burning her hand on a candle. The burly man adopted a defensive stance adjusting his foot for support

"You must be Gend.... perhaps we can " zera stated trying to come to a accord. Gend charged at her not caring about her act of mercy

Act 78: bonds

Susa his in the shadows firing at coldi. Each shot meant to incapacite , her arrows coated in a toxin made specific for members of house Ragin. Coldi scanned the darkness trying to see who was shooting at her, she conjured a blizzard to obscure Susa's vision. If she couldn't see neither would her assailant.

Susa jumped through the window in the barn mist following her and ran into the fields. "Get back here! Brother mounter " coldi shouted throwing frozen spikes at her as she gave chase.

Zera struck Gend in his face with her staff, it was monkai's old staff made from silverite she took it as a good luck charm, she was becoming obsessed with charms of late but one more couldn't hurt she thought.

Gend swung back at her striking the center of her staff as zera defeclted the strike. Gend wondered how see learned mêlée combat as most mages stuck to having others do their work. He let out a grunt as he reassessed his foe.

Zera began to alter the atmosphere making the world's weight fall upon him. Gend buckled slightly feeling the weight of the world. He swung his sword at zera but missed cleaving the the floor in half but being lodged in the earth. zera then slammed her staff into his face amplified by her magic of force breaking the staff in half and gend to the ground. She wheezed as she looked at a downed gend and broken staff "monkai's gonna kill me... though I did say I'd break it" she chuckled.

Gend grabbed her ankle cracking bone and threw her from the house ,embedding glass and wood in to her skin. She hit the ground skipping , her armor failing off from the impact. When her vision returned she saw bend running in to the fields "damn it.. why do they always run.

Gend met with susa hugging her and kissing her passionately ignoring his disdain for physical contact. "Easy little brother we aren't done yet" susa said stroking his cheek "did she hurt you?

Gend shook his head letting her know he was fine. Susa saw coldi and zera running to them. "Get ready my love let make this last battle memorable " she said kissing him for luck.

The two groups stared each other down awaiting the first to move. "Take the big one I'll handle the woman" zera said cracking her hands letting mana flow.

"Right..." coldi acknowledged giving Gend the finger. "Assh*ole messed my shoulder up time to return the favor.

Gend dashed to zera intending to finish their battle but stopped to cut down shards of ice " hey ugly remember me?!" Coldi shouted firing another volley of shards. Susa ran up her brother's back using his spine as leverage leaping in the air, attempting to fire three arrows at coldi but zera threw her hands down bringing susa crashing down. "Sit! " zera chuckled, she had developed monkai's brand of humor wondering if she should start a troupe.

Gend moved to cover susa as she recovered. Susa cocked her arrows and fired, coldi erected a wall of ice to block them but insured her vision. The wall shattered as gend swung and he struck her with the back of his fist sending her into a tree. He then threw his sword at her impaling her to it by her shoulder, coldi screamed and swore by her situation "f*ck f*ck sh*t sh*t ck taint's blood" she cried removing the blade from her shoulder "now I'm p*issed " she said driving the sword into the tree joining back in the fight.

Susa and zera danced around the field each trying to hit the other. "Your not bad princess your man teach you new tricks" susa said swinging her bow at her and hitting her face. "Thats for my lover"

"He's your brother!" Zera said tackling susa down and augmenting her fist and bringing it down on her face. Susa felt her noise break and blood spray from it, she caught the second fist and pushed zera off "bit*h you broke my nose" susa said puling a knife from her belt."Its a improvement " zera joked.

Coldi conjured a cone of ice trying to freeze gend. It was poorly aimed as her arm was incapacitated but at this point she didn't care she just wanted him dead. "Sit still inbreed " she shouted. Gend walked into the stream of cold his body slowly freezing, he grabbed her arm digging his hand in her gapping wound. Coldi cried out in agony kneeling as she punched his ribs to make him release her. Gend threw her at zera sending them tumbling through the grass and down a hill .

"Ugh... I'm done... can we go home now.." coldi said getting off zera they had looked like two lovers embracing had it been a different time she might have got a laugh.

Zera spat blood from her lip. "No we have a job to finish ". Coldi wiped her face "I have a idea..."

Susa and Gend slide down the hill looking for their attackers. "Huh... all gone." Susa said nose whistling as she breathed. Gend nodded in agreement. "So.. this is a good spot... care to tend to your hurt little sister" she cooed. As gend moved to tend to her he felt the world weigh on him and bright light from susa's eye come near her. He held tight turning his back sheilding her "susa!" He felt his body surge with electricity racked his body protecting his elder sister. Susa noticed a puddle being summoned under their feet.

"Hey twinnies try not to catch a cold!" Coldi shouted encasing the twins in ice freezing them solid.

"Ice puns... really coldi " zera asked shaking her head in embarassment.

"Hey I'm bleeding out wanna take me home or wait til they thaw out in a week complaining about my brand of humour and when they thaw they won't be happy" coldi said passing out. Zera cradled the girl wincing as her ankle caused her pain "I intend to make that man give me a thousand children.." zera said limping away to find out if monkai was successful with his part

Act 79: report

monkai came upon his street stumbling in the dark his body was giving out.. had now been up for three days he needed rest or at the least five minutes. He tripped falling down at the steps of his house. He noticed a trail of bloodup and coldi screaming .. he quickly got up and forced opened his door breaking the locks.

Monkai saw zera bandaging coldi's shoulder it was a horrid wound. "What happened!"

"I got ran through by some incestous giant! Thats what happened jackass " coldi said wincing "argh careful woman" she quiped at zera

"You we're taking so long planning and we decided to handle the twins" zera said tying coldi's bandage.

Monkai sighed heavily in relief that they won. "So they are dead then" he asked

"Eh I was losing a lot of blood. Like A LOOOOT! So I froze them... so maybe I don't know" coldi said putting on her tunic. "I'm going to bed wake me if there's a orgy "

Zera shook her head in amusement "that girl"

"Yeah clever if questable in her humour did she make ice jokes?"

"Yes"

Monkai chuckled taking the tube from his pack "well I got the map but your father knows bout adris somewhat."

"Damn... how much"

"He knows he's a elf and is looking for the heart. And that he wants it for whatever reason. Aside from that we are in the clear." Monkai said laying on the couch

"He likes to think he's all knowing he's just like the rest of us right " zera laughed at how lucky they were. "So I think I deserve a-" she said before noticing monkai dead sleep snoring like a bear. He smelled horrible like he was walking in the sewers. She took a blanket and covered herself next to him.

"Pfft great I get my ass kicked and he just wants to sleep " zera said blowing out the candles and drifting off to sleep as well

Act 80: concentration

monkai dreamt of his past as a child, watching adris neglect him, leaving him without food for days at a time. "Why am I dreaming of this" he asked himself dispelling the illusion.

because your missing something it's at the edge of your mind can you not see it beloved Scorn said forming from his shadow. She held him close putting her chin on his neck remember… monkai's mind began to open.

The boy cast fire from his hands letting the flames burn his grandfather "good... but concentrate" the old man said.

The boy resumed his stance drawing back his hands and thrusting them in the air conjuring another gout of flame, he old man raised his hand in response. The flames extinguished as they touched his flesh feeling only warmth from them, the boy began to bleed from his nose and his vision became blurry. "Stop and you will wish you died" the old man shouted

"You don't know what it's like" the boy cried the vessels in his eye popping and his nose continuing to bleed. "Do it or you won't eat" the old man said.

The boy fell to the ground exhausted his body felt hollow like every bone in him broke, he knew his grandfather would punish him. The old man grabbed his hair pulling him to his eye "pathetic such a waste of potential " he said dropping the boy. The boy saw his grandfather's hand it was black and charred, he smiled as made progress in his training

Monkai awoke on his couch cradled by zera holding him tight as he moved to go to the privy.

After relieving himself cleaning his hands he looked at his tattoo wondering if this was who he was or was he simply a deluded man sitting in a cell. "Hmph guess it's back to work "

did you see beloved... do you remember Scorn echoed, playfully mocking his discomfort.

"I do... everything... hopefully ely found something out" he said stroking his stubble

so it's ely now... disgusting temptress Scorn shouted. Monkai ignored her and went to his study to review the map he had taken

Act 81: pity

Adris waited for his escorts to arrive at the meet, they were late. He appalled tardiness in general but with his prize so close he grew impatient and furious. "Bad enough I must deal with the shems but now they are late...are bah" he said raising himself from the bench. He groaned at how his body ached and cursed his ailing health.

Adris made the long trek to the twins residence. There were signs of battle he saw tracing a mark in the floor and followed the trail of blood from the house.

Pitiable he said coming upon the frozen twins. Their eyes moved to see their employer, making sounds from the ice to release them.

"So the boy would rather waste his inheritance than claim it... I raised him better than that" adris said rubbing his temple... I suppose I should release you" adris said extending his hand..

"But I think you were most unsatisfactory to let a boy defeat you" he said taking back his hand and leaving them to what fate had in store.

"It appears I must leave earlier than expected "

Elywon knelt down in front of her bed closing her eyes taking deep breaths. Monkai had asked her to find anything on adris's magic but caius had nothing on his ability to absorb and reflect magic. She wondered if monkai knew such a spell he was his grandson.. a ELF-BLOODED! grandchild. She knew elfs that mated with humans made human children. Elywon giggled at monkai having pointed ears and spouting elven pride ,he had the bitterness down.

She continued her breathing and focused on a image of adris and felt herself lighter than a falling leaf

Elywon found her self in the fade surrounded by parchment and tomes. She felt glee at so many books and note wanting to steal it all so she could read them.

"Ghosts of arlathan ", "artifacts of rivain" , "purification " were the books that caught her eye she smiled as she grabbed each one.. but she remembered she was here a favor to her friend.

Elywon traversed the fade at firstit was a open field and then a hovel that was falling apart. "Guess this explains monkai's preference for a poorly maintained house" elywon said pushing the door open to see adris reviewing a piece of paper.

"Blood and damnation!" He shouted. "I need more time.. I'm so close to it"

Elywon watched as adris threw a tantrum,wondering why was he preoccupied with time. Adris held his chest "just a few more days then the heart will be mine... and immortality and power will be mine!. The boy has made war I must leave soon.."

Elywon listened to his ramblings they were words of a dying man obsessed with power willing to destroy his own kin for it. She didn't know what to think. She raised her hand letting blue tendrils of mana enter him she saw glimpses of monkai as child how he trained and later abandoned him. It would have been so easy just a tug here a pull there and he would be dead but as much monkai hated him he deserved the choice to decide if he really wanted him gone. She returned the tendril to her hand successful with their plan.
