Act 82: haste

Elywon ran to monkai's house the plan was in jeopardy, she'd glimpsed at adris's mind and learned of his plans to leave for the heart

Coldi was repairing the lock on the front door. She was working all morning painstakingly making sure the locks worked. Her shoulder pained her, zera had closed the wound but the pain lingered "wh*re's mother stop!" She cried as if to command her pain to go away. She went back to fiddling with the lock after stretching her arm but felt anew pain after the door slammed into her face, knocking her to the floor.

"Monkai! We have trouble!" Elywon shouted forcing the door open forgetting her manners "in... the study... " coldi weakly said

"Thank you" elywon said running to the study.

"So he's on his way now..." monkai asked leaning against his desk.

"Yes we have to go! I know where it is " Elywon said.

"I'm not gonna ask "

Monkai rubbed his chin in frustration "damn never easy is it." Elywon shrugged waiting for to hear the plan. "Then we leave settle your affairs and meet me at the lover's endurance we'll head him off "

Monkai waited for elywon to arrive she was five minutes late which to him seemed like a hour. "Blast it girl... where are you" he asked

"Easy love be more concerned with coldi she home alone" zera said placing her hand on his "patience all will be alright" she said pointing to elywon running to the ship waving at her to come aboard.

Elywon walked up the brow curtseying to the first mate "ohh's dis daft girl b'os" dramis asked scratching her abdomen.

"That is our new client "elara said taking her to monkai.

Elywon eyed the crew one was a scantily clad only wearing a coat and leggings, she thought she must been confident in her looks to wear that out fit. The one leading her was dressed more conservativly and practical with her hair covering her eye.

"Captain your guest " elara said bowing. "Good set sail we have long voyage "monkai said dismissing her.

"Aneth ara lethalin " elywon said to monkai testing how much he knew of the people

"Thats offensive... thinking cause I was raised by a elf I speak elven! Monkai said sternly. Elywon felt small for what she said. "Ma melava halani Ma Serranas " monkai said smiling and taking the wheel to steer them to their destination. His words brought a smile to her facea

Act 83: mainland

The crew of the lover's endurance saw their destination "ah der she is port braga the slimest shithole in tevinter territory " Dramis said leaning on the rail. The crew had sailed for two days with no incident it made dramis's nose twitch.. which in her experiance a ill omen.

"Dramis prepare to dock" monkai said.

The walked from the brow of the ship scanning their environment. It was laden with the typical dregs of society, unfit to interact with civilization. "I hate this place.. the innkeeper always tries to higher me" elara said.

"Who'd say no to elf puss sides your taken ya" dramis said slapping her rear and inserting her fingers Elara shrieked

"Enough you two" monkai said. Dramis stole a kiss from elara before acknowledging him.

"So we stay with the ship sir " elara asked

"Yeah you did your part let us handle the rest" monkai said leading zera and elywon "where to"

Elywon thought for a minute trying to remember "we go south of here for a day then we should be at the tomb "

The trio treked through a forest, for what should have been a day's trip turned out to be two. They had encountered sink holes that had devoured monkai and had spent most of that day trying to get him out. When they finally arrived at nardeth's tomb they looked upon how vines covered the entrance, how rotted trees leaned against the wall.

"Well we are here... not bad for a elf from orlais" elywon said playing up her accent.

"Yes all it took for monkai to get scared of a snake and get eaten by the earth" zera laughed

"Not funny ladies... it was huge " monkai said pulling his hood over his face to hide his embarrassment.

He watched as elywon and zera inspect the entrance,they had more interest in ruin study than he. He felt the air twist and contort, the veil was thin here as if someone was sundering the veil itself... he could smell it it reeked of a infected wound.. it's oder nauseating.

Act 84: presence

Elywon glanced at monkai he looked like a statue muttering to himself, she wondered if Scorn was affecting him. She could feel how thin the veil was it was almost as if the demons were tearing it apart banging on it as one would a door. "Ready to go in?" She said

Monkai snapped out of his trance holding his head trying to remember where he was "yeah give me a second..." he said rubbing his head. you feel it too don't you... revel in it beloved let our power feed off it Scorn said cryptically.

They walked into the tomb down decrepit stairwells and into the antechamber. It was covered in moss and felandris rooted the walls. "Well this is cosy " zera said wiping away moss on a plaque

"We should look around... can't let history be lost" elywon said taking her notepad and sketching the environment.

Monkai looked at a large stone door covered in oddly familiar runes and symbols. The few he could tell was that one was a archaic version of his tattoo but the serpent had wings with it's claws holding what looked like a heart. He wondered that maybe somethings should stay buried. The other runes looked like blood magic amplifications worn away by time, they looked as if to keep something out... or in.

"Blood of my blood bound, only blood of my blood can unbound what is bound " zera said reading the plaque. "Well that's cryptic..."

"What is?" Elywon said picking up a small journal and walking to zera and reading the same. "Yeah... very "

Elywon called out to monkai but got no response he looked like he was in a trance staring at the door as if trying to open it. "Hello! Lethallin " she cried knowing their shared tongue would draw his attention.

"Huh what?" He replied it was the second blackout he had and when he came out of it he felt like his had head split open "Scorn stop " he whispered. tis not my doing I promise you she echoed. He walked where his companions where, "what is it"

"Dear your eyes they are.. you know" zera said.

"It's nothing you found something " he said

"Look at this"

Monkai looked at what they saw stroking his chin "well I hope your not thinking of bleeding me like a hog " he said backing away from the women. He dabbled in blood arts before due to them relating to his field of study.

"Just bit you heal quickly don't you?" Elywon said pulling a cheese knife from her satchel. "Its to find the heart "

Monkai extended his palm feeling pain in his back and watched as zera and elywon summon mana .

"You have been a thorn in my side boy... only fair I return the favor" adris said twisting the blade in his spine

"Son.. of ...a bi*ch " monkai said coughing blood. He tried to heal but he could feel whatever toxin adris made weaken his connection to the fade. THE PAIN IT HURTS! BUT ITS WRONG ALL WRONG! Scorn bellowed

"Let him go" zera shouted fire erupting from her hands. Elywon saw how zera lost control, she saw the anger in her eyes it spoke of murderous intent.

"Easy my child I just need my grandson for a bit of bonding.." adris said driving the blade deeper in monkai's spine making him drop his staff. He couldn't move the blade must have severed his spine he thought as adris dragged him to the stone door.

"You do a I great thing for your family " adris said kissing his cheek and removing the blade from his spine. Blood spilt from his back as he rolled from the steps. Adris wiped the blood on the door, it glowed and resonated with magic. Dust feel from the chamber as the door opened "I leave you to whatever traps await" adris said laughing.

"Get back her!" Elywon said chasing after him. As she ran to the steps of the door she was tripped by something falling to her knees. She looked at what tripped her and saw a hand holding her ankle. "EWW GROSS " she cried kicking the hand off and raising to her feet.

Skeletons erupted from the ground moaning and shrieking. "This must be why the veil was so thin " elywon thought. She'd read about spirits being bound to corpses but this many? There were dozens and while she was a dreamer her powers were still being nurtured and with zera trying to heal monkai her odds weren't stellar... she hoped zera was as good a healer as her master claimed

Act 85: ruptured and broken

Zera poured healing magicks into monkai desparatly trying to repair his spine." Damn it bend and move " she cried as blood squirted from him. Something had affected him as if all the wounds he'd received had opened up.

Elywon casted down thunder incinerating the corpses, she found it easy to deal with the creatures. The shambled in a pattern close together allowing her lightning to chain against them. "How's monkai doing " she said knocking back a corpse with her staff

"Not good.. something's wrong he's losing too much blood." She cried forcing more mana into him. She paniced when coughed blood. "No no no"

Elywon wanted to help but her own healing was not any better. She resumed her vigil as another wave rose.

Scorn held herself screaming for whatever caused this pain to remiss. She loved the pain it made her feel alive but it wasn't from the one she loved, it violated her feeling as if she was having a illicit affair devoid of passion. Monkai crawled to her trailing blood feeling her agony as he felt his own body fail him.

"Scorn... I'm coming... hold on." He said trying to stand and limp to her falling after the first step. How could he not have seen adris.. he thought, he must have been occupied by something wondering if adris had casted some spell that clouded his perception... or wondered was it the relic.

I feel like another is inside me it's disgusting but the pleasure.. make it stop... please Scorn cried her face hitting the ground she withered in agony she crawled to her beloved drooling in pain.

They reached to touch each other to hold one another through the pain, their fingers touched only slightly barely reaching their recipient

Zera watched as monkai glowed with mana and his wound healed, she had reconnected his spine and finally allowed him to regenerate, she wheezed as she looked upon him waking "don't ever... do.. that.." she said collapsing into monkai's arms .

"Zera!" Elywon shouted pushing back a corpse that tried to bite her. She moved to defend her friends watching the shambling hoard march to them. she placed her hands on the ground feeling the earth mixed with blood and decay closing her eyes breathing deeply and exhaling slowly. A corpse leaped into the air jaws wide elywon opened her eyes black with power. Blood impaled the corpses on after another they struggled to free themselves but elywon outstretched her hand "rest now" she whispered immolating them.

Monkai and zera watched elywon's display, zera smiled at the display thinking she'd make a great ally. But monkai saw what she used as a focus whether she knew or not was another matter.

"Impressive... but we've delayed long enough " monkai said letting zera lean on him til she regained her composure

"Your welcome for not letting the monsters eat you!" Elywon said helping monkai carry zera.

Monkai groaned "my back hurts and I think I'm going insane and you want to do this now?

"Yes.. in Elvish " elywon smiled

He goroaned thinking should he survive he'd have another fan.. death seemed preferable he thought. "Ma serannas"

Act 86 : relic found

Adris entered the main chamber witnessing the statue of nardeth in it's glory. Time had been merciful to the chamber, his dream was coming true. Adris walked to the statue examing it for the relic he sought.

"You are not blood of my blood" a voice echoed. It was raspy and echoed with power.

"Am I not then how did I enter " adris said continuing to examine the statue

"Leave not of my blood and I shall grant you mercy " the voice bellowed.

"Pity " adris said dissmising the disembodied voice. He was so close to his prize he wouldn't let some specter dissuade him. Godhood was near.

Monkai,elywon, and zera entered the main chamber expecting to see a relic of legend but they just found adris cursing at a statue.

"Hello grandfather " monkai said "miss me"

Adris looked back irritated by the boy's appearance. He severed his spin, coated the blade in magebane, left him for the dead to eat... and yet he and his harlots live. Adris clenched his teeth feeling them crack "won't you just die already.. you've out lived your purpose "

"Isn't he the charming grandfather " elywon said raising her staff

"Indeed" zera agreed raising her hand ready to cast.

Monkai let sly smile out "ready partner" he echoed ready beloved Scorn replied. She was eager to show adris how much she enjoyed his poison.

As they readied their spells the earth shook knocking the inhabitants down. The ground crumbled and collapsed in the abyss "blood of my blood unbound what is bound" the voice said the statue crumbled unleashing a burst of kinetic energy and light.

His vision blurred and his ears deafend as he regained his composure. Monkai saw the relic, the heart of sanguine floating amongst the pillar of light. He looked elywon and zera hoping they hadn't fallen into the abyss.

"Marvelous isn't it boy look upon your inheritance a ring to apply magic and grant immortality " adris said walking to the relic.

"Adris stop!" Monkai cried creating a glyph on the ground to stop him exploding near his foot.

Adris absorbed the blast and turn to monkai "never learn do you boy" he said conjuring lighting from his hand. Monkai casted a barrier to absorb the current grounding himself.

A stream of lightning and fire hit adris to the ground sliding him back. He saw zera and elywon readying for another blast their posture and stance mirroring each other. He outstretched his hands to absorb their spells but something was wrong. He screamed as fire burned his lungs and lightning charred his skin.

"Yeah meet ely.. smart little thing found out your little trick! You only reflect when it in high amounts of power.. and since most mages go all out your theoretically unbeatable... that and remember as a kid you'd force me to go all out.. pretty good plan " monkai exclaimed he felt like a progedy discovering some new magic though he knew he had elywon to thank for the conclusion.

"Insolent children" adris cried smoldering he ran to grab the relic dodging the trios bursts of magic. He laughed as he grabbed the ring and slid it on erupting in blue flame "power unlimited power!

Act 87 : kin vs kin

Adris felt invigorated, power from the the heart of sanguine gave him power he could only dream of. "See boy for all your scheming I still succeeded bow before your new master" he shouted.

"****" monkai said raising his staff he felt the power from the relic. It made his head ache with pain. His body began to change. He fought his normally voluntary state but it was being forced he seeks to force his will on us... we can't let him Scorn echoed.

Elywon saw monkai she knew he was possessed and had basic knowledge of his condition but to see him mutate first hand fascinated her but also brought fear to her heart. His skin cracked and seethed with mana,his eyes were those demonic green and orange and his voice gained a hint of feminity. She wondered how zera loved him by all accounts he was a monster.

Zera breathed deeply waving her hands,she pulled the world itself around her in a blink of a idea monkai was with them. "Better?" She asked.

"Yeah... it's not what he thinks... we we're so sodding " monkai said fearfully. Zera had never heard him in such a tone. He was sarcastic, bitter,and occasionally angry, melancholy ,or concern but never any form of fear.

"How wrong " elywon queried raising her staff channeling mana. Adris let loose streams of mana hitting the ground causing it to crumble " RUN!" Elywon shouted leading the way back.

"Run run as you might you can't hide from the new God of thedas!" Adris said following them he felt they would be fun to play with til he could master the power.

monkai ran following elywon and zera had it been less strenuous circumstances he 'd be enjoying the view of his companions. He felt his heart tighten and his lung wouldn't fill him with air. " Scorn is that poison still in me" he said slowing down. no... you don't feel that like the fade it self is tearing.

"Elywon tell me you feel this too" he said clenching his chest.

"No... the air just feels heavy but can we talk shop later trying not to have your grandfather waste me" she said.

"Agreed less talk more running " zera shouted.

They arrived at the antechamber breathing heavily. Adris caught up with them, blue fire covered him as if the relic was trying to punish him. "You won't... escape... boy" adris said shambling.

"Blood not of my blood leave now or be punished " the voice said.

"Oh shut up" adris cried. He griped his arm as it swelled and bone portruded from it screaming as the fire consumed him.

"Uh what the void is going on" zera said channeling her power.

"The heart isnt a artifact that gives some amplification... it's a demon bound to my family in the shape of a ring. I think it c as n only bond with my blood line... anything else no idea " monkai said clenching his heart gasping for air.

"You have one freaky family " elywon said.

"No **** " he said rising to his feet. The three mages channeled their mana in unison each siphoning each other and pouring into them as a dive poured water the unleashed fire ,entropy, and lightning at adris. Adris outstretched his hand attempting absorb their power but he felt nothing but his body be destroyed.

The trio breathed heavily recouperating and hoping that adris was dead. "Blood of my blood " the voice echoed. The heart of sanguine removed itself from adris's charred and lifeless

Act 88: Spirit channeler

monkai collapsed as the voice spoke he felt Scorn's presence be torn from him barely able retain her. mathisa! scorn cried as she was being pulled. She was the only one who speak his real name, the fact she did mention their situation was dire.

Zera pulled monkai up trying have focus "stay with us" she cried as she watched his eyes focus in and out.

"Seriously what's the plan I have a bad feeling bout that ring " elywon said. She could feel its power it was almost hungry.

"Blood of my blood claim your birthright " the ring echoed, emiting a screeching noise that deafened the mages

Monkai held his head as the sound became harsher trying to retain Scorn' s presence "STOP IT!" He shouted channeling power ,releasing mana from his body

"Claim this" monkai cried as poured mama into the relic shattering it. A burst light erupted from the remains constructing a humanoid figure


"Blood of my blood you rebuke the gift I offer? I have awaited centuries to be released I will not be denied " the spirit said.

"Your a ghost from a dead era" monkai said finally able to think. "So how bout you just die"

Monkai moved his hand white light glowed from him. Felt the spirit's mind it hungered for death and a host. He knew it couldn't escape
what are you waiting for end this so we may go Scorn shouted.

"Attempting to banish the progenitor of your blood" the spirit spoke.

"Your not nardeth!" Elywon cried mimicking monkai's banishing ritual following his gestures,each increment of magic

"Yes I am blood of his blood" zera cried following in elywons footsteps of mimicry. The spirit felt itself being banished it grew angry that it's descendant was so ungrateful. "I shalt not be denied" it shouted dashing to monkai and forcing itself in to him

"Blood of my blood let us be one!" It spoke.

I will not allow another to touch my property said expelling the spirit back. It began to fall apart it's body fading away. "Your a... "

"Yeah.. I am.." monkai said slamming his hands to the ground banishing the old spirit.

"Well that was anticlimactic " zera joked.

The group arrived back at port braga they we're covered in muck and blood the residents paid them no mind thinking they were coming from the Marsh.

"Pity we couldn't study the spirit" zera said walking up the brow of their ship.

"I'm not best to leave some things buried "monkai said gesturing to dramis and elara to leave.

"So we aren't gonna read this journal I found? " elywon said pulling it out her pack

Monkai told her to keep it in return for telling caius the relic was a fake and all they found was a madman chasing delusions. He took the wheel of his ship glad that he had a clean slate.

"I am ragin monkai a simple mage from rivain heir to a dead house of tevinter " he whispered listening to the wind

Act 89 reprieve

monkai laid in his laboratory reflecting on his adventure. He wondered if it was wise to destroy the relic, he loved knowledge of forgotten times and knew it was the right thing to destroy it to prevent caius or adris from having it, but he wonder was it pragmatism or fear that had moved his actions.

your thinking of the spirit scorn echoed. There was a tenderness to her tone.

"Yeah... was it the right thing.. to banish the spirit and essentially kill myself.. " monkai asked

" I will protect you from yourself and anyone else Scorn echoed.

"Such a safe answer"

Act 90 :distance

Scorn stood on a cliff over looking the horizon of the fade. She moved her hand creating flowers that bloomed but wilted as the did. She found wilted flowers to have romantic and fleeting sense, she took a breath letting her chest fill with the illusion of air.

She felt monkai holding her nibbling at her ear. "I believe I promised I'd reward you for being so patient with" he said sliding his hand under her dress fondling her member. She loved his touch it was soft and tender... she removed herself from his grasp, feeling sick.

Don't touch me..mortal Scorn said fixing her dress. Monkai wondered why she wasn't in the mood, she was always the dominant lover and he the submissive lover.

Scorn held herself, curling into a ball. She wanted him to know how she felt but when she thought of the words her shame grew. you wouldn't love me she said covering her face. Monkai knelt beside her holding her kissing her forehead. She must be in one of her jealous mood again how many times must tell her he loved her she was him and he was her.

"Scorn tell me please. "

the toxin adris gave us... I felt more pleasure you could give... I wanted the old man in me.. begged for... knowing it was wrong Scorn said holding her head in shame

Monkai stroked her hair and raised her chin to his "I understand... there's nothing to forgive I will always love you " he said smiling that what she felt was a very human emotion and the concept of monogamy. Scorn opened her eyesshe saw the landscape had changed from wilted flowers to a field of red roses. It emanated a smell that was sweet and she saw monkai eyes just as hers he knelt before her. " I think it's time we made our bond official.. " he said opening his hand conjuring a ring

I am above mortal restrictions but what of zera Scorn said touched but cautious.

"I will admit I love zera and want her with us but I love you more and I know we touched upon the subject before but am I just a host to let you experience the mortal realm or am I your man, do you love me and my Clan.." monkai spoke. Scorn was taken aback by his words, she thought long and hard of what he asked. He asked of marriage she knew the concept but never comprended it due to lacking pain which was the key to love.

I do love you.. I see you as my child, brother, soulmate, and closest friend. I will also admit I love your clan... our clan, even zera believe it or not. I wish to be with you forever. Scorn said crying tears of joy. Monkai took her hand placing the ring on her finger, "Let it be known from here on you are Ragin Scorn first wife to our family. " monkai said rising up kissing his new bride.

As their lips parted Scorn showed him her tongue, she branded herself with tattoo officially marking her as his. "Its beautiful love " monkai said kissing her neck. He slid her dress off while she undid his coat pressing her hands against his guant frame she could feel his ribs.
