Yes, we do. Mac Walters is project director I believe. I believe Mike Gamble is a one of the big wig producers for ME:A.

Chris Schlerf is Lead Writer.

Got to admit, that is a decent team there.
The only person missing now is Patrick Weekes, but him working on Dragon Age is a good fit too.

Which is why I am confident in ME:A being awesome.

The Lead Designer is the guy who did U5:Lazarus?http://blog.bioware....xt-mass-effect/
You're a big Ultima guy right Slyvius? Or was that Jimmy?
But he also did KoA:Reckoning, which had an extremely disappointing skill system.
He bears watching...

KoA? The game that if you downloaded the demo and was forced to play it through the end for a timed ME3 exclusive?

Isn't there a list of all known devs in the "known features"-thread?
Non of this matters though. Jos is the secret lead developer of ME:A. Everyone reports to him and he reports to Maverick who recently returned from a month-long business trip to EA HQ.
You heard it here first.

You mean Frazier?
The skill system in Amalur wasn't too bad by all accounts. Could have been a lot better though. Got to keep in mind, a designer is only as good as their producer and direction though.

My complaint with Amalur was that each tier was unequivocally better than the one before, so there was never a meaningful decision to be made on whether to move up the ladder. You mean Frazier?

It was a very simple system wearing an elaborate disguise.

John Dombrow is one of the lead writers, he worked on DlC for Mass Effect 2 and some missions for Mass Effect 3. He was also one of the writers for TellTale's game of thrones series.

Aside from being far too easy, the skill system wasn't really what was wrong with KoA:R even if there was definitely room for improvements.

Amalur was an insane amount of fun. Really enjoyed it's combat system. Had to download a trainer that adjusted the diffuclty up, though.

Which is why I am confident in ME:A being awesome.
But mainly it's being developed in Montreal, so aside from the leads we're still talking 100s of different people than who worked on the trilogy and that's a lot of small touches that's gonna feel different.
I'm catiously optimistic. I didn't like that reveal trailer very much at all, but like DA:I I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt for now, but I am kind of skeptical.

Who is the creative lead? Who are the writers? Who are the combat designers?
Do we know?
We can tell from Twitter that some of the Montreal folks who worked on previous installments are at least peripherally involved in this. They don't give details, they don't even really confirm anything of substance explicitly (and will tell you they can't if you ask), but when you watch what they get excited about, you can tell they're involved.

I really dont understand this sentiment. He wrote a story for a FPS for a game that has lore that is literally ten times deeper than Mass Effect, and had to make it appeal to mindless CoD fans (success) and Halo fans(success) alike. He did a decent job.Schlerf as lead writer is just horrid
He has never, to my knowledge, written a story for an RPG. Whether that is a bad thing or not can be debated intelligently, but what does NOT count as intelligent debate is criticizing him for a story he is writing in a genre you haven't seen him write in based on a story he wrote for a completely different genre.
Apples and oranges. It makes literally zero sense.
Now, if he had a long history of writing stories for shitastic RPG's, I would be in full agreement. But Jesus tap dancing Christ on a saltine ******, give the poor guy a chance and a break.
EDIT: Hahhahahahaha at Bioware's idiotic autocensor. It censors ******? Seriously? You know what goes great with cheese?
Crackers.
Strange how it doesn't censor the plural of it.

A friend of mine is worried about Chris Schlerf being the writer. My friend's reasoning, is because of Halo 4's story. He told me the story was horrible. I never played Halo 4, as I'm a PlayStation player, so I don't know if that's the truth... but if it is true
I hope they don't murder ME:A.

IMO Halo 4 had the best story so I'm optimistic.

As much impact as a lead writer has, it's not the be-all and end-all of the story. It's not like he alone dictates the overall plotline; there are people above him. And with competent writers under him as well, even if he were as bad as your friend fears, the final product could very well still turn out at least decent ![]()
I have no idea how Halo 4 plays out and how well-written it is (or is not). I've heard people say both good and bad things about it. So for now I'm just going to trust that they hired the right man for the job and eagerly await to see what he brings to the table. For all we know, he could be the next Chris L'Etoile ![]()

Different strokes I suppose. Still, I'm worried Bioware might kill ME:A, because of what I was told about H4 story. I hope I'm wrong though.

I hope you're right. Don't get me wrong, I got nothing against Chris personally, dude's probably a cool guy. Someone to drink a coffee with, shoot pool... or some head shots, *shrugs* whichever. I mean flops happen, no avoiding it, rather it's movies, TV, books, or games etc. Later, same writer/director makes a hit. Still, until you know, you're left weary.
