Hello,

I was trying to buy the JoH DLC in origin store, but when i reach the payment method and choose PayPal, I'm being forced to give a credit card information, and I dont own one. My PayPal account is not verified by the way.

I contacted PayPal customer service and they say that this is due to the fact that Origin (EA/BioWare) selected the option where only verified PayPal accounts could use that payment method.

I have been trying to talk to EA Customer Support Live Chat for 8 hours now, but i cant get anyone to connect.

Its a shame that this is happening i really wanted to buy the DLC, i bought all the DA games and most of the DLC's with a PayPal unverified account, no idea why this is happening now.

Does anyone know of another way to contact Support, or does any Staff member can tell me who is to blame for this situation? In my opinion this is a problem to PayPal and they are just trying to get more banking information on me, but a really need an answer on this so i can rube it in their face and make them solve the problem.

Businesses can decide if they want to limit paypal payments to verified or all.  Sounds like they decided to accept only verified Paypal users.  You can either verify your Paypal account or get a prepaid visa card to use for the purchase.

It is not a problem to solve.

You could always get a pre-paid credit card.

I know that businesses can decide that, but i find strange that EA would allow all types of PayPal accounts to pay for the Inquisition game, and then block the payment of Jaws of Hakkon, a DLC to Inquisition, to just verified accounts.

Many online businesses and banks are taking additional validation steps, it's the way of things.

ye but for a 60€ game they dont need extra validation and for a 15€ DLC they need? makes no sense in the extreme they would do it the other way arround.

also its getting ridiculous when cash isnt accepted and 2 or 3 garanties are. At this rate we will reach a point where you go to a shop with cash to buy something, but they wont sell it to you unless you give them your live history first, plus a credit card, a bank history, criminal record and a warranty from your bank stating that you always pay for what you buy.

what happened to the days where you give money, in return you receive a product and that ends the transaction?

Just get yourself pre-paid MasterCard or Visa. Link it to your Paypal and the problem is solved. Money is money. Each amount needs to be transferred safely.

Btw Origin uses Sofort Banking as a payment option as well depends what country you live in. Then you just have to use you regular card that is linked to your bank account.
