I'm ok with either. I think in some ways FP is better for normal movement and the actual shooting mechanics. Third person is better for melee though because you get the exact depth. With third person you also get to see all the cool animations. You could remove RHA from third person by simply having your bullets hit the wall if you wanted.
Please make ME:A 1st person, like Call of Duty!

Oh lord no. I lose interest in FPS so fast because I don't get to see how hot or swag my character looks (I'm shamelessly shallow about that sort of thing). Especially for a RPG like ME that is focused on an extremely personalized experience, it would make zero sense. If you want a first person shooter, there are a million other games out there for that.

Tbh I just cannot feel immersed in my character if i'm playing in first perspective. I get bored that I cannot see my protagonist and the limited camera perspective they offer. Not to mention all those people with motion sickness. Nope good old Third person perspective is the way to go in BW games.
Furthermore having a toggle option isn't really a good idea. A game is designed with a specific perspective in mind so you can't switch between them like nothing happened as one perspective would feel more natural. I want BW to focus their resources on the story/characters and combat.

After Bulletstorm, Bioshock and Skyrim everything can be done in 1'st person mode however remember that many ppl. wined about Bioshock's 1'st person view. I like Bioshock's 1'st person view, there is no problem with that.
I agree with that even in Destiny the player can't see the custom characters face and custom armour most of the time. It's not bad at all.
However you talking about a pretty much new perspective.
And this may result in complete disaster for the Mass Effect franchise.
Let me explain why.
In TPS mode the player can rotate the camera BEHIND the PC and see someone attacking behind. In 1'st person view the PC's FOV ( field of view ) is only 90-100 which is in my opinion less than in TPS view. And in FPS view the player got to turn around 180 degree to see if hordes of enemies attacking behind, besides many tech/biotic powers won't work in FPS view. This feature saved me a lot more credits after a platinum run ended in ME3 multiplayer. More player view of the field = more kill you can get and for less skilled players means less deaths.
So MEA in 1'st person view would be a huge slap in the face for the fans. If MEA would be an 1'st person view game, Bioware need dramatic changes in MEA gameplay as well as biotic/tech powers and player team tactics as well. I think more team tactics would be needed for the 1'st person mode as skill.

Guess I'm shallow too 'cause I prefer looking at a good looking female butt, that's in front of me. Now, if she was facing me, I make every effort to look her in the eye.... ![]()

I really don't get this (Reordered):
In TPS mode the player can rotate the camera BEHIND the PC and see someone attacking behind. And in FPS view the player got to turn around 180 degree to see if hordes of enemies attacking behind.
In 1'st person view the PC's FOV is only 90-100 which is in my opinion less than in TPS view.

1.) Guess what: ME never allowed you to do rotate just the camera in combat! You always turn your char when there is a drawn gun.
In how far is this supposed to be different anyway?
- TPS: Move mouse to change perspective or aim
- FPS: Move mouse to change perspective or aim
No difference!
2.) I believe this was mentioned two time now, and all I can say is: What a load of rubbish!
A FOV of [angle] does not suddenly allow more of less FOV in a TP or FP perspective. TP perspective is actually worse than FP, because of your glorious character's butt blocking the view in a certain direction.
What TP has as advantage is the usually higher fixation of the viewpoint, allowing a slightly better overview of the surrounding.
3.) [Sarcasm] Right, because there can never be a way to arc projectiles in a FP perspective. NEVER! [/sarcasm]
Main argument for a FPP is aiming. Have you never used the ME weapons (especially pistols, especially in ME2) in really close quarter combat? The model doesn't point in the slightest at the direction the shot is registered at. It's just irritating. (FO: New Vegas was a slightly worse in that regard but that game has a toggleable perspective)
But that's not the only one. Have you never wondered how some of the models (e.g., the weapon bench in ME3) look like from your chars pov?
I don't want to change cutscenes of any of that, just the possibility to use the another perspective when fighting or roaming around.
Edit:
Sorry if I sound a bit aggressive or attacking. That was not intended. The weather over here is similar to a steam sauna, barely bearable.

- If you are going with gun fighting at a point-blank range you are doing it wrong
- Asking for a secondary perspective isn't somthing they can put there and forget about it. It entails game design to a variety of levels (combat, cutscenes, animations). You are basically asking them to focus their resources on something that would be optional and not even maybe used by the majority of the gamers out there since it's not a FPS designed game. They would invest their resources in something they aren't used to, take time to develop and probably wouldn't even feel good considering their focus on Third person perspective. You would be here in this forum the day after ranting that it would suck.
I'm quite baffled by all these request, (please do like X or nope do instead like Y). BW should develop their own games in the fashion we grow up to appreciate. The good old traditional Third person/action-RPG game with focus on story and characters. I don't want ME to feel like CoD, Destiny, Fallout and neither The Witcher 3. I want ME to feel like ME but most importantly to feel like a BW game with its peculiar mixture of RPG/TPS and action we used to love. Thank you.

I gotta be honest, with that tittle I'm not sure if this is some sort of troll-trap, clickbait or what. 'Like Call of Duty', people will just enter to say how much they hate that franchise... You would get about the same results with 'Assassins Creed'.
Now, assuming this is actually a serious thread, no. ME is good as it is in 3rd person. That would be like making DA in 1st person, it would take off some of the 'essence' of the game, if that makes any sense.
