Sure, the writers have no contractual obligations toward their audience. But if their goal is to write a story with an adequate ending, then they owe to themselves to close the chapters left hanging.

Pretty much this^

Bringing the fight back to the HoF's stomping ground and including their love interest without them was awful. I agree it needs to be resolved, however i'd like to see some originality in regards to the fate of a living HoF. Death just seems like a cop out (similar to the bus to nowhere). Which is also what the storytelling in the Dragon Age series seems like at this point. They create new lore / entities in Thedas to spark interest then proceed to never write about them again.

Also it's shameful how hard I laughed after reading the OP's post. I would be "insufferably pleased" with Bioware were that ever to happen.

Never said they were. But the HoF went from level 1 to level 24 or so in the span of a year, so how much further could they go with another 9 levels of getting stronger? Factor in diminishing returns for exp, and an extra 10 years would put them around the early 50's.

Since the Hero hasn't been doing much since Witch Hunt or Awakening, no.

They've been  looking for a cure for the Blight, i count that as doing something.

Friendly reminder that the Hero of Ferelden is dead in most world states, according to BW stats. :)

Got a source for that? Seems counter-intuitive given the sheer amount of ways the HoF can cheat death at the end.

I guess I could believe most decided on the Ultimate Sacrifice ending because they figured it was the most heroic or something. It's not to my taste, but a whole lot of people seem to like it for some reason.

Although I am curious whether that's actually the case.
