There is a large hole on the east side of the map in the Western Appraoch called Shimmerstone Mine that according to a old Grey Warden journel found there leads into Deep Roads and the wardens eventually called off mining the tunnel because of the tunnel being unstable.,

The old Grey Warden journel also says they could hear the "call" of one the Old Gods in that section of the Deep Roads, the warden where mining down to the Deep Roads to find an Old God.

I do not recall everything this journel says because of a bug on ps4 where some codex pages are not unlocked in the codex when found and can only be read once per playthrough.

From the teaser pics it looked like the entrance is in the storm coast to me, since that's where the darkspawn come out of in that side quest.

The Venatori also break into Darkspawn tunnels while mining with Giants in the Western Appraoch.

It would be a good excuse to have a Giant fight to the death against a darkspawn Ogre, even if it's not in the Western Approach I hope this fight happen anyway and the new Descent Darkspawn get added to vanilla loacations where the crap Vanilla darkspawn appear.

Strange it looks like Valammar to me.

Big chasm , darkspawn , strange noises etc...

It's probably a brand new map though.

A dlc full of rain is going to take place in a place with no rain?

It would be easier to use the Western Approach as an entrance point. The map becomes too cluttered after a while. But if we can revisit past thaigs too that would be cool. In Origins there were many unreachable thaigs on the map. The Western Approach appears to be the closest to Kal Shirok, so maybe we'll encounter Binthus Warhelm. But from there maybe we can backtrack to the Deep Trenches and Ortan Thaig.

But whether or not an Old God sleeps down there depends on the DLC. I'm just happy they listened to us because many players missed the Deep Roads. I can't wait to hear the Iron Bull's opinion of Ogres. Maybe we'll even get back the slow motion victory kill.

If anybody hasn't farmed enough revenant hearts to make Superb Cleansing Runes - GET IT DONE QUICK! The toughest of the Darkspawns know how to bring on the pain!

Why wouldn't it rain?  Water trickles through the ground and has to go somewhere.  It's more of a leak in the roof, but it could be called rain, since that's what started it, at some point.

I think there's an archdemon buried everywhere you find red lyrium, since the corruption eventually spreads to everything living, and the lyrium is the last line of defense.  The wardens might have abandoned the Shimmerstone Mine because while they heard the calling, there were more immediate threats to justify the risk and they moved on.

If I was going to guess at where the next blight will happen, I'd look to the Emprise du Lion.  The red lyrium's really close to the surface there, and the weirdness is really hitting the dwarves in the area hard.  There's an archdemon near Crestwood, by the red templar area, I think, and the Exalted Plains puzzle me.  The Kirkwall area's possible, but that might have been where Corypheus was locked up.

Interesting thought?  What if the original magisters are all hiding or buried somewhere too?  That would make 14 possible sites, with only half of them unoccupied.

I forgot about Crestwood, though darkspawn don't appear in that reqion it does have a very large aldeit flooded sinkhole that darkspawn used during the 5th blight.

There is also there Deep Roads entrance in Emprise du Lion called Valeska's Watch

We who are forgotten, remember,

We clawed at rock till our fingers bled,

We cried out for justice, but were unheard,

Our children wept in hunger,

And so we feasted upon the gods,

Here we wait, in aeons of silence,

We few, we Profane.

The codex page for Rock Wraiths from DA2, according to the tabletop Dragon Age the Rock Wraiths eat Lyrium and we might get to know what the Rock Wraiths are because there appeared to be one at the end of the trailer for the descent

I think the rock wraiths and the Titans are connected.

One of the caverns in the trailer looks like a Journey to the Center of the Earth kind of thing with an ecosystem.

Not sure if the entrance is in the Approach but I do think it's Orlais. This might have to do with Sandal's little wacky.

Yes. Go play that golems DLC again in DAO (the one with the Harvester), there's a part where there's a lot of water dripping from the ceiling as if it was raining.

I'd be surprised if it is, honestly. I agree that they might add the entrance into a theatre already present - I don't see why what we're told is essentially a massive dungeon needs it's own little above-ground entry hub.

Could be Orzammar again, though.

If it's going to be somewhere established, it needs to ge in an area you can enter easily at level 11-12 which means not something like the Hissing Wastes.

Temple of Dirthamen and Cradle of Sulevin both have their own map mark on the travel map, so there is some precident.

Yes, that's quite true. My instinct is that they might prefer to leave the Western Approach alone for one reason - if it's there, people will expect to meet an Old God from the outset.

Although the rock below Shimmerstone Mine is described as unstable. And we're told of earthquakes in the trailer..

I'm kind of hoping for no old gods. Tired of them and their idiot priests. :)

If it's in the Approach, it's still probably going to be an adjunct like Frostback Basin, so it can be opened with power.
