I loved Origins and Inquistion becuase you got to make a choice and hated Dragon age 2 and Hawk getting pushed into that mass effect role it was fine for Shepard i just dont want it for every game . Personally I hope you get to keep your inquisdor Ive really enjoyed playing as a Dalish again and would be more than happy to continue the story in another one .
Keep the Inquisitor or New Protagonist in DA4

If the thing with Solas is not going to be resolved and carries over into a new game, where he becomes the villain (?) or otherwise crucial character, I think I'd like to play as the Inquisitor again just for that personal touch. Maybe Bioware can do something to separate the Inquisitor from previous companions/LI (perhaps not as drastic as killing the Inq. like in Mass Effect 2, but something along those lines) to open up the realm of possibilities for everyone.
If the opposition is not Solas-centered, then yeah, I wouldn't mind a new protagonist. Honestly, since Bioware has mentioned that Dragon Age is not a series but a collection of separate yet related/intertwined stories, I think a new protagonist is more likely.

I really don't want to play Hawke once more. Hawke was so, so boring (even my humorous ones, yes) and was kind of bland. I wish to play a character from Tevinter, the Andersfelt, or Par Vollen. As a Anders character (get it, Anders? But you ain't about to blow up a chantry any time soon... Hopefully) who happened to a Grey Warden, but a loner, and an outcast. You are on a special mission for the Grey when you get intercepted by the HOF, who was demanding for awnsers on what's going on on Wessapiut, you try to escape from the HOF, but they do not take no for awnsers and force you tell them one way or another, but you have no clue what's going on so your no help to them, they then leave you and you see them looking annoyed as they walk off. You decide to go to the Anderfels to see for your self what's going on... And In Tevinter, your a servant, an bastard to a wealthy family, you were forced to go into servitude at a young age, so when you learn of your magic ablities/awesome rogue or warrior ones, you decide to join a rebellion with other slaves as a adult. In Par Vollen, you are a Saarbas, who was allowed to devolp a mind, you pretend to be mindless as the others, until you realize this a place you do not want to be, you successfully escape from Par Vollen, seeking aid, you stumble upon the HOF and the Arrashock dicussing something, but as my HOF is a Mage, it's surprises you how calm and unbound the woman is, and most likely out of excitement or a lack of judgment, you jump from you hiding spot, the HOF grins and whispers something ingellible to the Arashock, and then he sighs, but doesn't seem to agree, you say "why does this Saarbas have no changes? She isn't bound..." Then the Arashock realizes you have a brain and laughs, and agrees with the HOF, who concrispted you into the GW. Sorry, this is so rant-y, i just have many ideas, although I didn't think the Arashock throughly, didn't it?
So in your opinion, Hawke was boring and kind of bland (even the humourous!!!?????). Did you plaid DAI? Then you must think the inquisitor is in an irreversible deep coma or maybe you mistook him/her for a statue.
Oh, and please get it, once and for all, THE HoF WON'T BE BAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally hope that they do a new protagonist, with a big caveat. I really want them to road map out a trilogy or a two parter for that character. complete with DLC and bridging material for both. I feel like they have enough experience now with ME and DA to make a trilogy flow and have the overarching experience that they wanted Mass Effect to have.

We'll have race choice. We'll have origins, but they all take place in the same locations to conserve resources. The game will center around Antiva, Rivain, and Llomeryn.
Qunari-Instead of a vashoth, we'll play a Tevinter slave in service to a master either captured at a young age or the child of slaves. A Mage vashoth will be taken as the Magister's apprentice, a sort of FU to the Qun.
Elf-To switch things up, the elf will be the scion of a prominent merchant family who has beaten the odds despite their race and achieved affluent status. Possibly the child of one of Antiva's merchant princes? That might be too much.
Dwarf-Hard to think of something we haven't done yet and Kal-Sharok is too unknown for a background. How about a member of a Merchant's Guild family? At the risk of sounding too close to my elf suggestion, it could be interesting to get a look at their internal politics.
Human-Antivan Crow initiate. In previous games, it made sense for humans to have a noble background because they were one of the few that could. With dwarves and elves as potentially pseudo-nobility we can explore a different type of human background.
Just splurging my thoughts, but it demonstrates why I want a new protagonist: the potential for new perspectives.

I'm sick of surface dwarves. They're just humans with different graphics. That would be three games with these guys. And they're not remotely interesting -- unless it's a detailed character like Varric. Lorewise, there's nothing worthwhile that's uniquely dwarf like or couldn't be done better with human criminals and merchants. Underground dwarves have more going for them, from a general fantasy point of view.

That's cool, I guess. At least he wouldn't be a Varric clone. Stone sense, in tact. For awhile at least.

New protag. I hope we will play as tevinter slave and game will feature more moments with balls. You show magical potential and someone makes you his student.
If we won't move I would be happy with Hawke. I don't like HoF or Inquisitor so I would prefer to get Hawke. ![]()

Seems to fit this franchise to have a new one.
That said, imagine a team of 4 protagonists in DA5.

I like things as they are- in ME you keep the same protag and in DA there's a new one each game.
New protags mean new perspectives, new companions/romances and less baggage.
I'm hoping that DA4 is more of a personal story and smaller scale, DA2 but better, save the bit of Thedas you call home rather than the world. World saving feels a bit overdone thanks to DAI.

And please let us not have to be a savior or great hero. I'd love to be a power hungry character that forms a band of selfish bastards who take advantage of whatever chaos comes next.
