At a certain point there is NO use for both of them anymore.

 

The occasional respec or dragon call just isnt enough as sink. All armors are crafted already.

I got 255 of most materials and I dont see how I can get rid of it.

 

I got 410k gold and I dont know what to do with it. Got everything I need and 3 hakkon weapons.

With the next update / DLC I will be able to buy all new chars/weapons immediatly after release.

 

I asked in a previous thread for craftable and lootable XP tokens (in buyable chests), which would be a good gold/materials sink but nothing happends nor did the devs answer to my idea... I have the strong feeling they dont care.

 

Im sick of replaying my chars from level 1 again and again to see some tiny progress.

Im sick of slaying NM dragons again and again for a 2% chance to get my last weapons because I killed the perilous dragon 200+ times to farm dragon weapons. And I was pissed that I got hundreds of them in large chests after the patch.

I dont care about leaderboards or prestige because most people in the top 100, exploited the hell out of the game.

That was going to be my suggestion. If the game doesn't do it for you anymore (which is going to happen eventually), find something else and come back to check out new content. I do see your point, though. I would have complained about XP cards in chests when I still needed good gear, but I'd gladly take them now.

The multiplayer I first saw was never designed to be played for years on end, that still hasn't changed

 

The activity I'm seeing (PS3) on a sunday in the month of august is uhm... bad

That is not exactly true, unless you count farming as an exploit

The eternal answer to the eternal question on "Why do I grind X in Y game!?" will always be "Because you have fun."

 

If you are not having fun, move on. There's plenty of games out there.

I do it for RNGesus.

 

I dropped 600k and still don't have that staff with guard on hit, but I have all my Hakkon weapons :/ . So that's my goal for now to get that guard on hit staff.

You know what I'd like to see, the ability to craft tokens to use on treasure room doors.  That way if you do not have a balanced party, these crafted tokens can be used to access those rooms.  If you no longer need gold this is pointless, but for newer players who need every gold coin, this would be awesome.

What would they craft them out of? Don't they desperately need materials too?
