August, 9:52 | A Mabari, largely reputed to be the same one who accompanied the Hero of Ferelden during the Fifth Blight passes away peacefully in Honnleath. He is cremated with full honours befitting a Ferelden war hero.

You shall never be forgotten.
...Um, where is this from?

Is August even a month in Thedas? And 9:52 is 10 years after inquisition ends. Seems like a stretch.

So...this isn't actually from Bioware though? It's just a fan made RPG forum which decided to elaborate on the DA history for their own role playing storyline. Unless Bioware and/or EA offer some kind of support for it, but I can see no official links or affiliation anywhere on their site.

On the left side it says it's a fanfiction site related to Dragon Age. It's an RPG site. Not official.

Yes... But it does reminds me that Inquisition suffers from a lack of Mabari: you fight a few of them as mobs and meet one badass Mabari shopkeep, but that's far from sufficient: Bioware really needs to bring back Mabari as teammates in their next installment.

Dog probably is dead, though.
Also, Santa Claus isn't real. The Easter Bunny was, but I killed him with a special gun that murders dreams.

I just started naming the Mabari in DAO & DA2 "Betyar".
It feels a little better that way.

As in the high-level dog from the Hissing Wastes, Loyal Betyar.

Dammit, I didn't even pay attention to the Mabari shopkeeper's name when I played the game, Shame on me! Betyars were Hungarian Robin Hoods, and given how much Hungarians love their dogs (I lived there: Hungary is the closest thing to a real-life Ferelden), it's a very fitting name

That being the case, I'm not liking seeing snippets like this dropped into the forum as something that relates to the actual games.

I for one refuse to refer to him by that stupid name (chosen by -- who else? -- Alistair Theirin).

This is fan fiction by the looks of it BUT, I would like to hear from Bioware on the status of Barkspawn.

It is only visible when entering tactics mode. That little pooch is also lvl 30 Elite, i.e. outranking even Hakkon.
Regardless, thank you sincerely for educating me on the real life origin!
