Typhoon, no question about it. It was made for him obviously. You get the satisfying manly dakka with no need for cooldowns. PPR feels like a toy on him and is boooooring.
Both typhoon and PPR destroyer feel quite boring to me.

PPR seems a little more effective, but Typhoon with penetration mod and AP ammo = much more fun! Go Rambo and shoot the place up!

Maybe, but out of the 2 the Typhoon is a clear winner. At least I feel like I'm shooting something, rather than casting a recoiless green booger across the map.
Double barrel Executioner along with an 8-shot Piranha for the big, fat armored types.
To me those are the most noticeable and delicious ways to exploit DM.
Typhoon and Spitfire.
Just don't forget to turn on Devastator Mode first.
Switch to missile and run...
I feel like the Typhoon and the Destroyer were specifically designed for one another. I usually use the Typhoon with a Piranha as my backup on the Destroyer.
That being said, I often find myself using the Piranha more than the Typhoon in that setup, because the Piranha on the Destroyer is ridiculously good. So.... my answer is Piranha.

Any gun in the game works well on the Destroyer!

The downside is you have to play as a human.
I usually go Typhoon, or;
Spitfire
Spitfire.
Claymore Destroyer is really great too.
Geth Plasma SMG
Seriously, the Randomizer gave me this a few weeks ago and it is stupidly fun.
I used to use it a few times in the past on all 6 Flamer Trooper with Incindiary glitching or GI. Barrage Gear too.
So yes, it works and I can see how you enjoyed it. Though it should work better on Destroyer with his extended mag ways, now that you mention it.
In terms of both weapons is the Higher RoF or bigger mag better (devastator mode)
I would favor Rate of Fire for the Typhoon, perhaps Magazine for the PPR, but I haven't performed any scienceing on the topic.
My understanding is that the ramp-up on the PPR is a set interval, meaning that increasing the Rate of Fire with the PPR results in more of the clip being spent as pre-ramp, rather than post-ramp. Increasing Mag size results in more of the clip being spent as post-ramp.
Argus / Piranha combo or GTFO
For pure effectiveness (on PS3 at least), the PPR and AP IV are an unholy combo, much more damaging than with Incendiary. Used to be a kit I saw Rluct (aka Lucky) use back in the day and wow, did Platinum armor drop fast.
I'd go Brophoon above all else.
Secondarily I'd say Piranha, as previously mentioned, and Raider definitely deserves some love on this class.
Black Widow is the only right answer here
Spitfire
I have never tried the Spitfire on the Destroyer, because I always assumed that the movement speed penalties from the Spitfire and Devastator Mode would stack. And I find that being able to move helps with gameplay. My assumption could be wrong though.
Also, I use the Spitfire so much on the Juggernaut that I don't really want to use it on anything else. It just works so perfectly on the Juggy with Incendiary Ammo - the Spitfire strips shields pretty quickly, and then you can Siege Pulse everything for a bunch of Fire Explosions.

Used the Typhoon and the Piranha on him on a plat run. I gotta say, I really enjoyed that kit with those weapons.
