But they're not dead and the Normandy didn't break up mid-flight. That's not opinion, that's actual gameplay footage.

err.. yes it does show the normandy breaking up.

Go back to pre-EC (you know the original ending.. the one they wanted you to see) which clearly shows the SR2 breaking up.  No ifs or buts.  That is the ending bioware wanted to show us.  THe EC is just fanservice.

I didn't play ME pre-EC. And regardless of whether it was put in for fanservice, it's now canon. When you buy ME3 on Origin, the EC is included for free, which means it's what Bioware wants you to see now. You can say that they changed they're story and that's fine, but it's no longer canon.

but most of us did, and it's still my 'canon' ending.  The relays exploding was a glorious thing (if you were a reaper) and the normandy getting blown up as the wave hit it....  wow.  everyone was doomed.  Our squaddies on earth one minute, appearing on the jungle planet emerging from the SR2 the next with no explaination  also kinda made me think they were pretty dead.

Hey if you didn't play it pre EC, then you missed out on a lot.  Mind you I kinda envy you.

that was the impression i got with the original endings if a certain theory wasn't involved.

Now I think they're gonna be in Andromeda.... just because..... new mass effect game

That's silly. The relays blowing up would be a PITA for the Reapers if they were alive to see it; they're the ones who have to rebuild the things. And if they weren't alive, it wouldn't matter.

Because Bioware knows any real continuation of whatever happens at the end of ME3 is impossible and won't directly aknowledge it ever, but Andromeda lets them continue it while discarding everything that was in the original trilogy and while also letting players who believed in the endings and who do consider it canon feel like there's still continuity going on. It's kind of win-win given the circumstances.

But hey, they could retcon Leliana's death in DA:I, they can also retcon "small" stuff like, say, the ramifications of the outcomes of ME3, but personally I just hope they move on while ignoring all of it.
