Spoilers so don't bother reading this thread if you haven't finished season 2.

Wow, I just finished seeing the final episode. I was not pleased. Season 1 was fantastic but season 2 felt jumbled and messy, too many characters and not enough screen time for them. The characters I did like were Ray and Frank and of course they died and we didn't see that coming 100 leagues away.....

The predictability of this crap was over 9000. I knew Frank was going to die when he said he'd meet Jordan in a white tux after the thing with the Russian went done during the first 10 minute mark of this episode.

I can understand this seasons theme was sadness, misery and failure? I don't know but I didn't like it and it was poorly done compared to last season. Why has the writing been so subpar and Medicore? I think season 2 needed more time, this crap was clearly rushed like DA2.

Anyone else share the same view or something similar. I'm kinda pissed that my favourite show last year turned subpar this year.

Ray Velcoro died a shitty death. Couldn't even kill Burke.

The second season always felt a bit over the top in comparison to the more 'grounded' feel from the first season; It was easier to relate to Woody Harrelson than most of characters from Season 2 --- Particularly, Frank, whom I felt was the embodiment of over-the-top gangster drama characters. I do enjoy the seemingly overarching theme shared between the the two seasons, which seems to be gender roles, dressed up as a crime drama. The actual murder mysteries are but the vehicle that drives the plot. The first season plays on somewhat similar gritty notes as a Thomas Vinterberg film, which I enjoyed. Season 2 is a letdown though.

Holding out hope that the upcoming season 2 of Fargo can hold up on it's quality from the first season and the film.

I liked it. Thought the ending was ok too. Giving the season a 6/10

Bruce Campbell signed up for Fargo season 2. He is playing Ronald Reagan. Most likely he will be "on tv" on the show. Which he was in the Fargo movie as well.

They never should have dropped the Southern Gothic themes. I watched the first episode and never managed to be interested enough to return. Every cop show ever has people solving murders in a city.

I'm with ya on Fargo. It seems that 2015 has been a let down for television, for me that is. House of cards was poor, GOT wasn't as good, Hannibal is kinda boring this time around, and True Detective was just mediocre.

Well, not entirely -- I absolutely loved Better Call Saul, favorite new show of the year. Most of the continuations of otherwise quality shows, however, have been a let down.

Better Call Saul exceeded my expectations.  I thought it would super disappointing after Breaking Bad, but it's really well done and very funny without being slapstick or ridiculous.

Also, I did not know there was going to be more Fargo. Fingers crossed that that one holds up.

"I'll meet you there in two weeks.  Or less."

Famous last words.  Frank gave himself a death sentence.

My husband and I took bets on who was gonna die in the final episode.  We did it with Breaking bad, too.  We got them all pretty much right, this time though.  I even called Rick Springfield!  (so proud of myself).

I also couldn't believe in the final two episodes they were pulling in new characters to explain things and shoehorning them into the plot.  I feel like this season should be forced to retroactively change its name so as not to sully the legacy season 1 left behind.

Ha totally forgot about Better Call Saul. Defiantly the best show this year.

I still liked it, but it was depressing as all hell.

One thing I didn't catch is whose kid was that at the end?

Bezzirides' and Velcoro's.

I don't really understand the complaints about this season. It seems most people just wanted a normal procedural cop show with a crazy serial killer again, and if you really want that just watch just about anything on CBS.

Jordan adopted that baby she always wanted and is raising it with Ani, obvi.  They totes telegraphed their whole relationship way early in the series.

I just want a show that, when it treats a character death as important to the plot, I know who that character is.  I still haven't figured out who Stan was, but he was obviously a big enough deal that we had to go visit his wife.  And I'm still not entirely sure what happened in that episode 4 shootout.  I just think they took on way too many characters and too complicated of a storyline for only 8 episodes.  You know what would've been a good show?  The Frank and Ray show.  Why didn't they make that show?

I enjoyed this season. It was a bit of a head scratcher following the plot, along with all the characters that popped in and out. I REALLY likes Frank's dialog. I didn't think Vince could pull it off, but every time he was one the screen I was riveted.

The ending sucked, obviously, but tragedies are like that. That final paternity test result for Velcoro - what irony :(

Heh, I thought that was Velcoro's kid.

Nah, that would have been the opposite of what I want-- The first season was far from that too, however, given the serial killer sub-plot is more or less a frame for the actual narrative which is seemingly about gender roles.

In fact, it's pretty much the underlying narrative for both seasons, only I feel the characters were a bit extravagant and over-the-top in the vein of your average crime drama. It feels like it's trying too hard to re-tread old ground while not quite grasping what was great about the first season. Harrelson's character, even McConaughy's character, felt more relatable and engaging, than anyone from Season 2.

Done is done -- All I hope for now is season 2 of Fargo to at least be good.

It wasn't that bad.

A show that has female leads that I like is a good show.

I even felt it was good just by virtue of that scene at the end of episode 7.

The show was mostly hit with little miss so I couldn't really care less in the end. I only really looked forward to The Strain on Sundays.

The show had too much chaff. If it was just Frank and Ray I'd be much happier with it.
