Its complicate. From one pov he doesn't particularally care about the concept long as it's love. But on the other hand he despises arranged marriage since they lack love and he has this warped idea possibly from scorn's subtle influence and his own subconscious issues of abandonment of protecting her and letting her make her own choices.

Though it's moot since anything I got now is too jarring or deus ex

I hate to see you feeling discouraged. Sometimes when I don't know where to go with a plot, I write about my character's confusion. You could write about a conversation between Scorn and Monkai, how Monkai feels discouraged and betrayed, and what Scorn thinks about Monkai losing the marriage but gaining the lover.

Oh I'm not discouraged at all in fact I'm on fire. Its just what i have is below my standards (lotta stuff has been this week) and work is just so stifling. I should have some @ 10pm or maybe next week

monkai floated in darkness, his body felt weightless as the darkness devoured him. well well here you lie defeated all over a mortal girl who is unworthy of us scorn said floating to him. She dragged her talon across his throat,releasing black blood.

"We need her..." monkai whispered

"Do you need her? Or is it just a fantasy brought upon by guilt and longing to belong " a familiar voice said. Monkai tuned to the voice seeing it was kara haunting him like she always did. He scoffed the spectre

"Its all these things.... love,guilt, promise to protect her... I am willing to die for her." Monkai said swimming to the faint light in the distance. Scorn laughed at his foolish resolve, wishing he would just stop with this boring game.

I don't care much for the girl but she is my property and I detest sharing scorn said twirling her hair.

Monkai gasped as he awoke searching for zera only to find her missing and elara huddled in a corner panicking. "Dramis I need I dramis... " she said hyperventilating. She had never been separated from her partner and for all her professional bluster she could not cope with out her.

"So finally awake chief?" Caradoc said as he walked to check on him. His arm was broken and had been put in a sling.

"Zera where's zera argh" monkai asked before seeing a piece of wood in his abdomen. He couldn't remember how he got the wound just that there was a skirmish and then nothing. He pulled the wood from himself letting blood spill on to the ground.

"You really should just leave it in " caradoc jibbed shaking his head at the young mage.

Monkai saw Aurelia channeling her mana repairing the ship, she used driftwood to fill the holes to make the endurance sea worthy.

"Zera... where is she.. and just to shut elara up... where my first mate. "Monkai shouted as Aurelia finished her work. She exhaled heavyly at her cousin lack of priorities. "The foul mouthed one made a peaceful resolution a violent one and zera... she gave up after you fell over board cardoc and I jumped in after you after she said you couldn't swim... what rivaini can't swim. How the elf girl survived... irrelevant. But the tomb is near forget about the girl she's a lost cause." Aurelia said walking to a makeshift brow.

"Screw the tomb my wife has been captured by a mad man. Elara come on we are leaving!" Monkai shouted. He grabbed elara from her catatonic state,she muttered to herself asking where her lover was. It frustrated him to see her like that knowing he was barely holding together himself.

"Your father would have done his duty. And if you get the girl what then live happy ever after. You know caius will hound you for eternity. " Aurelia said.

"If I hear anything about duty or my father one more time I'm leaving you here. So either shut up and help move this damn thing or swim!" Monkai said putting dramis in a corner of the deck. She was beyond any use in the state she was in,he felt it better to just keep her out of the way.

Aurelia and caradoc laughed at monkai as they walked the brow. "Maybe you are your father's son yet" she whispered seeing monkai change into naraas then himself again. "Better hurry boy it's a half day trip away " she jibbed laughing some more.

Zera sat among the guests broken and defeated she looked at her father happily talking with Tiberius' father over trivialities. She stared at her plate of food that had long since gone,she considered now that monkai was possibly dead to end her own life.

Caius saw her reach for the knife on the table knowing what she intended to do. "Stupid girl" he thought. "Zera my child show Tiberius the library I understand you both share a interest in the history of early tevinter poetry " caius said stopping her from her actions. She felt like a puppet doing his commands escorting her betrothed to the library. Caius watched her leave feeling nothing but pride that she was finally malleable to his demands.

Zera listened to Tiberius go on about liteture quoting hollow words to woo her. She wanted to run away run into the sea to find her lost lover and join him oblivion. "Tiberius why do you wish to marry me is power or has every woman just said no to you" she said

Tiberius closed the book placing it back on the shelf. "Power, duty , why not" he said leering at her. He had heard of her beauty and was amazed by how the rumours did not articulate well enough.

Zera turned from his gaze feeling disgusted, he was handsome sure but a utter bore of a man. "Then perhaps you should find a mate that is willing to have you, if it's irrelevant as you claim"

Tiberius's eye twitched feeling insulted by her disdain for him, he had been polite but she had been uncouth for every meeting they had. "Perhaps your such a shrew that only I am willing to deal with you. I'm a talented lover perhaps you will change your mind when consumate our union " he said walking to her placing his hand on her chin

Zera scoffed at him, slapping his hand away "I have a man and touch me again and I will kill you myself " she said her passion reigniting as she walked away.

Tiberius grabbed her from behind and forced to the desk twisting her arm til it nearly snapped. "Makers breath I love a woman with fire.." he said brushing his face against her neck smelling her hair. Zera struggled against him feeling his member. "Get off me!" She cried until he covered her mouth.

"I think it's time you learned your place.. I'll play your father's game but I think first we should consumate first... it's going to be a long marriage. " Tiberius said laughing as he shoved his hand into her womanhood. She could feel him twist his fingers inside her pinching her womb. She spat between his fingers as she was violated. "Just a soggy mess aren't you lady vallenious we will get along splendidly "

Zera fought back tears as Tiberius unbuckled his trousers and forced his way inside her becoming more violent with each thrust. "Are you happy now father I'm doing my duty just like you asked... did you know this would happen! You wish a heir so badly" she thought as she clenched the desk in pain trying to force her mind to to a different time.

Tiberius filled her with his seed as he finish,zera felt him prod her rear. "Please not there anywhere but there "she said trying to free herself.

"Now now I'll make you forget all about your alleged man. If he was your man he would be here to stop me" Tiberius said as he took her, taking one place she allowed no one to have aside from her husband. "Kai I'm sorry I'm so sorry" she said as tears fell from her

Zera needs a self-defense refresher course. Or is that blaming the victim? *Elowyn has a discussion with Caius about his wimpy daughter* *Elowyn bursts into the study and fries Tiberius with a thunderbolt* *Zera slashes Tiberius' throat with her fingernails, draws magic from the blood, and drains his lifeforce, just like daddy taught her*

It is kind of good. Though the problem with this is, Tiberius wouldn't live much longer. Caius would make a short work of him.

Maybe a little tuning is in order, actually, Caius could use blood magic on him and make him the perfect groom. Easy solution.

@ sere yes that's blaming the victim a common thing and I'll take it a fitting end for tibs. And I wonder if she can do hexs... it's Canon zera will learn the hex skill tree later.

@uccio: thank you. And I was kinda going for a bit of a faustian deal and was dabbling in realism again. He wants what it is best for her but somebody messed up in the screening and boom that happened. zera probably wouldn't say anything out of shame etc and caius would be in the dark, plus I'my sure it's a huge house.

And believe me I'm holding the bm card for something later and maybe that's too easy hmm. * doodles on students graded paper for ideas.* must grade papers first then brainstorm

Personally I just like Faustian bargains caius gets what he wants but at a expense of others around him. And I like the idea he's fallible for all his power. Which is possible... hmmm I'm going to need to hurry up with this work my stew is bubbling. Good idea sere you too ucci

zera listened to Tiberius go on about his family, she found the whole affair disgusting. She glared at caius for killing her husband, taking away her freedom and forced to marry a boring man all for maker knows what.

"So lady vallenious do you have any ancestors that fought the oxmen? " Tiberius asked

Caius gestured discreetly to answer him sutbly reminding her that she choose this to happen. "Yes my family are known pillagers and did you know that my father keeps them as slaves for his own desires "zera said glaring at her father hoping she would be killed for her insolence. Tiberius laughed at her snide remark ,thinking his betrothed was full of spirit. Caius grounded his teeth at her remark "show him the study perhaps a history lesson will remind of your manners. " he said, she mouthed "I hate you " as she left with Tiberius. Caius seethed at her ungrateful manner.

Tiberius scrolled his finger against the books in the study searching for the history of zera's family. he saw zera staring out into the harbour as if lost.

"Is there something wrong Milady " tibrious asked walking to her. Zera glared at him as he placed his hand on her shoulder . "Touch me again and I will end you." She stepped on to ledge of the window judging that the fall would be sufficient for her demise.

"If your going to jump... go up a few floors.. that would only break a few bones and leave you a cripple." Tiberius said backing and giving her a wide berth.

"You don't know me and yet your willing to marry me. You disgust me" zera seeing the distance and finding he was right. "Kaffas " she thought.

"Well think of it as bed-friends I sate you you..."

"I won't let you touch me" zera chided she looked out in the distance hoping her husband would come storming in as if a tale from childhood.

"Haha you wound me Milady I am not one for monogamy merely one who seeks to ad a harmen of men and women. Perhaps I may allow you have one of your own. " Tiberius said extending his hand for her to come down from the ledge

Zera felt disgusted by his answer finding him a pig and opportunist treating her like a trophy she stepped from the ledge and walked from the room "kai hurry" she whispered
