I will be corrected if I am wrong but the drop rate for Hakkon weapons starts out as something like a 17% chance for your 1st weapon and goes down from there. thus if you want all the hakkon weapons be prepared to play a ton of nightmare dragon runs. No big problem for very good players but a grind fest other wise.
Doesn't seem too odd considering the whole game is a massive grindfest. Pretty sure I'm done playing because of it too. Been playing weeks and I feel like I haven't made any progress regardless of the fact that I've spent literally every minute of my free time on this game. But that's an entirely different discussion.
But honestly that doesn't sound all that bad. Given it takes nearly a year of constant play in order to build a character that might not get one shot in perilous.

Just buying the game does not entitle you to get an endgame weapon and a prestige award saying you're awesome
If you took two steps back from your frustration you might see how ridiculous this discussion is
Seems you need to l2r as in learn to read. In numerous posts I've made it clear that getting 'end game' weapons and how tough it is is totally not the issue. Put them in heart breaker and have a 0.00005% chance and have it guarded by beholders for all I care.
The present dynamic is akin to fire base geth gold from memp. An in game dynamic that makes almost all pug games be set to one environment.
Also, learn to play indicates that you mover on to a new difficulty, learn how to play it, make progress and then learn to play the next level of difficulty. For those wanting to move from Perilous to Nightmare it is a huge step, adding in the dragon level adds another step.
One thing that you were consistent on in your post is that 90% of the time when someone pulls out 'learn to play' they have no clue what the hell they are talking about or have totally missed the point of the thread.

Completely agree. I have only managed to pull Hakkon weapons from my grinding on FC NM and it is getting harder and harder to even think about replaying that map. As I stated earlier, I would much rather have the weapons tied to the NM difficulty as a whole and allow us to play how we please instead of doing the same monotonous grind.
Some of the most fun I have had recently is playing standard NM games on the old maps with the occasional trip into HB to see how far I can get.

In my opinion.
There is a very large difficulty divide between nightmare and perilous. Dragon level is more difficult and more of a grind than the other levels. Thus lets attach the hakkon weapons to the dragon levels. If you try and pug a nightmare game very likely you will get the dragon level.
Thus a large barrier for players wanting to move from perilous to nightmare. They already put the decreasing % chance in to make it an accomplishment to get all hakkon weapons, why also stick them on a grind fest of a map or one that is too tough for players entering nightmare level of difficulty?
Poor job at putting in a proper learning ramp between perilous and nightmare.
I disagree...
It was a mistake for them to release Dragon Weapons in chests.
All end game weapons should remain locked behind Dragons.

Because it's a frking Dragon brah.
When I do end game raids in other big MMORPG for end game gear, it's always dragons.
Even the SP game is all about Dragons.

Why people continue to look at this 100% solely as a 'weapon to be obtained' issue is totally beyond me. I'll say it again for those hard of hearing, the issue is that difficulty levels are being compromised due to 4 or 5 high end weapons. Dragon weapons are indeed 'dragon' weapons so they make a smidgen of sense in how they were obtained. The hakkon weapons? They are simply singling out one map on nightmare and making that the map to be played 99 out of 100 times.
Not only that it is the toughest map by a lot aside from the last wave. Making a decision on how high end weapons should be obtained should not badly affect how maps are played.

Cool weapons should be locked behind *something*... but seriously Dragons?
Why not put them behind another cool boss each time new weapons come out.
When new level 28+ weapons come out, are you excited to run the NM FC grind another 200+ times?
Dragon farming is *absolutely* the worst gameplay mechanic in this game.

Oh ffs stop feigning ignorance they continue to look at this like that because that what OP is about. The discussion about incentives not to chase the dragon is nice but stop with pretence that you didn't start this thread with whine about hakkons.

Well you get your weapons, then you don't play till weekend events... That's how raiding works.
There is no Hakkon Faction or Hakkon map so Nightmare Dragon is good enough.

Maybe you should start farming lightning dragon instead if you want a challenge. I could imagine it getting boring if you were spamming the ice dragon.

Well, the fire dragon is only harder compared to ice in waves 1-4 and that difference is nulified if you have barrier/put something over your head.
The storm dragon IS harder than the other two considering the obnoxious circle/wing flap combo coupled with the observed inability of the typical pug to stay the hell away from me as I stay away from them when this happens (I also think this is dispellable). Even that though does not compare to venatori mages peppering you with staggerspells while calpernia laughs at your (my) puny magic resist while putting up barrier #239.

It's not about how hard or easy it is... it's about running through the castle *forever*. It started with the dragon weapons.. and now there is no end in sight. People were complaining that 3 maps was not enough.. now people just run *one* map.
Let me ask you, do you want new bosses to fight for new weapons? Or do you actually just like to fight the dragon over and over and over.. and over and over again?

I disagree. It equates the fact that *because people want the weapons* it is the map most often (or even exclusively) played. The OP laments the lack of NM pugs on other maps.Oh ffs stop feigning ignorance they continue to look at this like that because that what OP is about. The discussion about incentives not to chase the dragon is nice but stop with pretence that you didn't start this thread with whine about hakkons.

To be honest, you've all probably run the other maps far more than FC.
I don't run FC forever, I mix it up and get gold from other maps so you really have the option of running any map you want. If you want variety in your weapon farming then change dragons.

Agreed. It locks everyone into playing the same map over and over and over and over. Not fun at all. Even if/when you get lucky enough to get them all, there is still always someone on your friends list that still needs them since the drop rate is so dismal.

And it's far worse for those of us who are exclusively pugging, try finding a NM lobby that's not FC.

I guess we lost this fight.
Not only are they funneling even more weapons into the NM castle, but now everyone is going to play Perilous castle to get the blue versions.
Just call this game FCMP.

Exactly, they lost a big chance here. They could have made the blue variants drop from regular bosses in the other maps on NM. Oh well.

So your solution is to always host and always hope someone joins you in a pug nightmare lobby......Good luck with that.
