"Veterans" of this game seem to assume everyone is on their level. When you rolled through NM with your 100+ promotes and your core group, obviously it didn't seem like a much of a difference. NM is not that difficult, but there is a massive difference between it and perilous. If you say there isn't, you're either oblivious or full of shyte. No matter what level my character is at the time, perilous difficulty and below dragons are a FREAKING JOKE for me after a couple of months playing this game, yet I've only been able to complete a full NM dragon run maybe seven out of twenty attempts. Maybe it's my problem and maybe it's not a lot of proof, but that's clear proof there is a large learning curve. Maybe it's just because the other difficulties are too easy. Who cares? Whining or not, OP is exactly right. No need for all the hate. Elitist attitudes don't help the community. You deserve a medal for playing this game longer than most.
To add to this: Of course the optimal choice is to play with people you know, but when an online four player co-op game is created, pugging should be what they have in mind. Quick matching a NM dragon is an option, but it's not a very good one. At least not on PC.
L2P? Saying this to people in a game that relies on more than one player is plain idiotic.
Bioware has created a cliquish atmosphere. Just like in SWTOR. Not that everyone is cliquish. I've fortunately been able to make friends with some really good long time players that at least seem happy to help. It's just the atmosphere the game demands.
I also feel most of the issues are caused by the lack of players/chat. Origin should allow a person to create a chat room and leave it open for anyone to join if they choose. Or they should just do what Steam does. But that's another topic.
