622hrs and 1522 games played, 99,99% on gold and platinum, and i am nowhere near a maxed manifest. in the beginning i had to wait months for my favourite weapons. the game just didn't want to unlock those. I would be happy to pay extra 10 or 20 bucks but then i dont have to horde credits and pay for the RNG gods to give me the stuff i enjoy playing with.

If i think about people with families, jobs, who doesnt have that many time to play its even worse. because a few games per week is just not gonna cut it.

So if anyone isn't paying then the MP is funded by???? Why would you pay for? For a better chance of maybe getting a weapon? Seems so fragile as a business model. If gamers were rational consumers this model would be dead the second it opened.

Consider the human species in general, and in the context of traffic in particular. Everyone knows that driving while intoxicated, or while phoning,or too fast is dangerous. Yet everyday, everywhere, you'll find people gambling with their and others lives driving like that. And I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that everyone who's ever driven is guilty of at least one of these dangerous behaviors, even cops. I don't see how gamers would be any more rational.

After that it's a matter of priorities. Some will find more advantageous to pay with real money in order to save time. Personally I would never pay for impractical, painful, and way too expensive shoes like Louboutin, but other people (much richer than I am) see a point in these shoes.

ME3MP is not pay-to-win (PTW). In fact, there are no PTW games out there anymore, I think.

The ME3MP was pay-to-skip-grind. There's a huge difference. Anything that you could buy you could achieve with just grinding, given the same RNG luck.

And for some of us, we have more money then time. I have a family now, and kids, and can't devote a fraction of the time I used to spend on games. I am, however, blessed with a successful career and a wife who makes even more money than I do.

The goal for the new lottery boxes (because there definitely will be new lottery boxed) should be:
1. Help Bioware maximizes profits (because this is the real world) while also
2. Staying as far as possible from the appearance of a PTW model and
3. Maximize play times and
4. Minimize RNG disappointment for people that use RL$ for lottery boxes.

Many of these goals are mutually exclusive, and they are going to have to deal with the desires of three separate communities: the single player RPG crowd, the FPS crowd, and the MMO/online gaming crowd.

So they are never going to be able to make everyone happy.

They can mitigate some of the RNG disappointment by using a crafting/salvage/trading system. Either you can can craft the gear, or at least break down the stuff you don't need to trade for stuff you do need.

Also, they should consider expanding the highest tier of weapons/items and guaranteeing one of those items in the top tier lottery box. That way you wi always get one of he best items, but, with the expanded amount of items, there is still a heavy dose of RNG.

It's not like EA cooked up this model. Hell, I think it goes back to baseball cards.

They could even do an Injustice-Mobile Game type for the shop..

See, you have a Character Card. This Character Card(being a Gold Card, the highest you can have) costs, let's say 203.000.

Then, there are the packs that give you a random Gold card Character for 99.000...

So, in that, we have a chance to buy a pack that gives us random and perhaps even acquiring the character you want, or if you want that specific character/weapon/whatever for that very specific build, you can save money so you purchase it for 203.000
