I hope I'm right here have no other forum thread found!

I have a few months ago the game Neverwinter Nights purchased on GOG.

I was surprised that the same addons I were installed as more of a classical player'm wanted I only play the basic game (still have a CD but lying around as some are missing).

And now to my question: Is it possible in the version somehow the addons out erase or is there a special patch for this? Or can I just install the 1.64Org of NWN so that addons disappear?

 

Would appreciate an answer

Your English of okay, but can you please be more specific about what add-ons were installed that you want to uninstall? Perhaps GOG has started including more software with the NWN Diamond release? When I purchased from GOG a couple years ago, the only things in the install were NWN, the two main expansions (SoU and HotU), and several of the premium modules. Is it one or more of those that you want to remove? If you can clarify what was installed with the GOG package that you want to remove, that might tell someone enough to help you.

I am not an expert on older versions, but re-installing the 1.64 over the GOG version probably won't work well by itself. At the least, after installing 1.64 from CD, you would want to install the Critical Rebuild Patch to update your installation to 1.69. It may be helpful to know that the CD keys installed with the GOG version are in the nwncdkey.ini file in your NWN folder.

You can play Original Campaign wothout too much changes. You will get more classes to pick from, but that's all I think.

 

If you have yourself installed some mods or modules than there should not be any interference. If you have installed files in override folder than critical rebuild will clean those and leave only the 1.69 files.

 

If you want to revert to earlier game versions than use critical rebuilds with lower numbers: http://neverwinterva...rements_tid=All

As I said, the addons I want somehow installed the addons are going on, because I just do not like how the change the game! Have played as a child that usually only the main game without installing the addons before because I features the old loading screens and other were in the classic version again wants to use! I do not need new mage spell I'm also so with those good 

it would be smart to delete the files included xp1-2.key xp1-2patch.key files?

and I can then also in the nwncdkey.ini the 2 keys of addons then delete?

Ive choosed your link and chossed the first thing on Official or Community Patch the Bioware- NWN 1.69 Descr.: English 1.69 Critical rebuild for game without any expansion only.

 

i hope now the addons are deleted. I will send a another message when its work or not

It's advisable to keep the extensions. That enables you to play the many excellent fan-made modules.

I dont think its possible to downgrade game with both expansions. It might be possible to do via NWNCX hack but seriously just for this? Who would bother dedicate hours of coding for this...

If things like GUI elements intros etc. are problematic to you they can be overriden and to answer your next inevitable question I don't have "vanilla" files and don't know which exactly. One of my guesses how to get them would be ripping it from patch.

 

Maybe someone else can help you with that.

 

I'm sorry to hear that critical rebuild did not help you.

 

As to if it is smart to delete the files.. you can try that but MAKE copies!!! I suspect that the game won't fire at all then :-/

I'm sorry I won't be of much help, but... I'm fairly surprised that anyone would prefer to have NWN installed without expansions.

I mean, there are games in which expansions drastically change gameplay itself (mostly MMOs), so it's understandable how some would prefer a version without expansions or with only some of them in this case.

 

But Neverwinter Nights? Expansions mostly add new stuff to the game with little to no changes made to its base gameplay and graphics. Possibly the only gameplay alteration I can think of are Appraise checks for the original campaign's NPC merchants. Aside from this, everything is pretty much the same if you simply stay away from the newer content.

 

I don't know what's the reason you'd prefer the original game, but I advise you to stick to the expansions.
