Eh, that's mostly a subjective statement, especially in DAI where one could easily make the argument that elves fit better because of the elven lore, Solas, etc.

Personally, I don't get much out of human characters in fantasy games, so humans are the one race I avoid, esp human females. Blah.

Seriously, the whole second half of the game (and climax!) is about elven lore, locations, and revelations.

We discover the Orb and Anchor are Elvhen, Skyhold is Elvhen, we visit several places in the Dales (Exalted Plains, Emerald Graves, Emprise du Lion, and Halamshiral!). Morrigan reveals that Corypheus plans to use an Eluvian (or so she thinks) and shows the Inquisitor her Eluvian and the Crossroads. The final battle (almost) takes place in the Temple of Mythal, we discover Ancient Elves, we drink the Well of Sorrows (which holds the last of centuries of elven knowledge and binds the drinker to Mythal), we learn that the Elvhen Goddess Mythal is real (unlike the Maker, who turns out to be fake) and housed in Flemeth and will use the Drinker of the Well as her servant, and more. And we learn that one of our closest companions all along was an Ancient Elven God! And has big plans for future games! Ah!

One could also argue that dwarves secretly are or will be a very important race since lyrium and darkspawn and the taint are secretly huge players these last few games, and dwarves are the ones who live underground with lyrium and darkspawn and the taint. DA2 and DAI make a huge stink about Red Lyrium, which turns out to be regular lyirum corrupted by the Blight, and dwarves are the only race able to harvest and market lyrium and who fight darkspawn the most since they live underground and the Deep Roads. Between the hints that the Warden went west to find a cure for the Calling, the Grey Wardens went missing to the north and west, and the Architect (another ancient magister and original darkspawn like Corypheus) is out there somewhere trying to mess with the taint and make all darkspawn intelligent like him--to say nothing of these hints from Dagna and Kieran that dwarves have been cut off from the Fade (due to their high resistence from being exposed to lyrium for so long) but once they re-connect they will become "Titans" again (whatever that is)--it sounds like being a dwarf would be interesting and relevant too.

When I first played the game (well a bit of it...) I knew that I wanted it to be a Dwarf. (Since my Warden was a Dwarf.) then as time went buy I thought how I should have made it different...having it Dwarf/Human/Dwarf sounds kinda boring (DA:O/DA2/DA:I) So I said good bye to my Dwarf to make another one...(nice looking Elf/Human or even Qunari)

Might end up going back to my Dwarf once I have the time again lol.

I played a human rogue first. My first interest in Dragon Age was actually through the two-blade abilities in game 2. But I started with a human mage in Origins, making him an Amell related to Hawke.

But for Inquisition, I wanted my first character to be black because I wanted to explore that type of diversity for character creation. I want him to be my canon character for future Dragon Age games.

I always play  human noble first playthrough ...I never played a dwarf.

in DAI second playthrough I played an elf ( because of the whole Solas crap ) and then a Qunari.

If there is one thing Dragon Age has taught me, it is how much I am obsessed with elves. In any fantasy game really, if elves are playable I am going to play as one.

Human at the first (since there wasn't another option), but I thought it'd have better origin choices then. Then I wanted to play a male elf, until they looked like crap. So I went back to human.

Elf. Always an elf. Doesn't matter what game it is, if there's an elf I'm playing it. Even if its just elf-like ears and not actually an elf I'm still using them ears(that's dragon's dogma if your wondering wth I'm rambling about).
