I noticed yesterday that it is not just AoI challenge that is gone, wiped, there are numerous blank challenges in several categories. Are these hopefully just place holders? I don't play enough to remember if some was there or what it was. Anyone else have these blank spots? I'm on my phone/mobile otherwise I'd figure out how to post a pic.

There are 13 new challenges, so those are probably the ones you've seen. They're blank, but surprisingly, you can get points toward some of them (even though we don't know what they are).

Exactly, if the challenge had operated how it was original told to us (last weekend for 2 chests) Everything would have been just fine (well, maybe not, I don't know, but it fits my theory, so I'm going with it until I'm corrected).

Not sure what you're complaining about. You were going to miss challenge 5, and thus the chest for completing the book, anyway if you're going away. You already got all the chests you were going to earn. The outage changes nothing.

As i said yesterday. I take for granted that you are going to check with your boss at work and your boss at home to start working/living/sleeping/vacation according to swedish time.
And if we then can force that upon the entire community it shouldnt be a problem to still have challenges.

True if I were not present. Thing is I was present at the last weekend but this god me off guard too and I won't be present this weekend so this is kind of like double slap to the face for those that have already made plans in their weekends.

True. However why not have an extended event? Why does it have to be a weekend event and not a longer one? Very few do not have any free days in a week but many will have weekend plans (as most have weekends free) or work in weekends. By extending such an event when an error has been made from the host side would be a wonderful idea for not only taking more players into consideration but also would show good community awareness. I know of several games where this practice is already the norm and I must say, it really pays off for them as well as for the players themselves. This sort of " Oh we screwed up so we will compensate by redoing it next weekend. " - is such an outdated and clumsy model overall.

If I were to give an advice then it would be to update practices in regards to things like this. Many developers have already discovered the benefit of doing this so I am wondering how come a big and popular company such as Bioware is dragging and lagging behind so much. It is like stuck in time.

They want their login numbers up on the weekend.  Plain and simple.

 

It's a practice to get people playing EVERY weekend.  

 

In this particular case they do no want you taking your time over 1 week/2 weeks.  They want the playerbase all on at the same time to help keep the game alive.

 

That's the way these challenges will always be.  I support this as you at least know there will be people to play with 2 days a week,

 

Long term challenges already exist in the game and are a completely different thing altogether.
