Could we maybe get commendation chests which have double items and no potions? Even if it's all crap, knowing you get a chest for challenges which is stuffed with only items psycologically makes a difference imo.

Not completely sure how it works, but if content has to be designed differently for a different platforms you can expect nothing. Support stopt for these.

But it´s just a guess.

I'm confused about something.  I finished the Match Point event, that I was unable to finish last week.  I thought that was going to bring my stars up to 4 for the Varric chest, and I would be getting that chest this week...?  I still only have 2 stars and got my commendation chest and the victory chest only.  Did we have to do both challenges to get a chest?  

 

I need more cotton, darn it!

We said there would not be much special stuff in this book, i think there was a dragon call for star 3,  and that future books would have more rewarding... rewards.

 

Seriously? We have to play 5x5 varric books challanges to get one high level stuff? That's 25 weekends!

 

No sorry that's too much. I'm no more interested what will be in the future cests. In ME3MP we got one high level weapon with one weckend challenge. And this weapons do not have a chance to drop again!

 

Normaly I am willing to spend some real money for the MP to honor the developers. But not here.

 

I love Bioware and the most you create but this is really to much. For this the software is really too buggy and frustrating because all of the CTD and connections losts. All this extend a normal weekend to a pure hell of gaming. Sometimes I wait up to 30 min to be able enter only one run, because of the bugs. No, No and again no.

I think Fiddzz meant 5x2 since it is the 5th star (chest) of the Second (next) book. We just got the done with the first book. But do agree that the rewards for the last 5 weekends was more than disappointing esp with Luke hinting at something good early on. But alas I think technical difficulty was more at play since they seem to have been planning something special. 

 

Really wish they would stop gating weapons off at the dragons. So sick of FC. Still 3/5 for hakkon weapons, honestly stopped trying at this point and doing NM on other maps just to alleviate the boredom. 

 

If they have new items drop able from chest, would love to spend some real money to support the game. however at this point chest items are useless for veteran players. Still saving up gold for one day when it is useful again. If the day come would spend some money just to support the team also.

I fully agree. 

 

On another note. Would really like to thank the Beard Trinity for the great work with the game since Dragonslayer DLC. While some ideas were not popular and there were some game breaking bugs, the whole game is exponentially better than the dark cold winter era. Changing the routes, thinking of interesting stories and ideas for the weekend challenges such as this show dedication to their craft. Finally feels like a real supported game.

I bet Varric's chest contained Amulets of Power, but Bioware devs couldn't figure out how to make promoting not delete the extra points in time.

While some ideas were not popular and there were some game breaking bugs, the whole game is exponentially better than the dark cold winter era. Changing the routes, thinking of interesting stories and ideas for the weekend challenges such as this show dedication to their craft. Finally feels like a real supported game. 

Agreed 100% - the game is dramatically better thanks to y'all. I hope you don't mistake the reaction to the varric chests being normal commendation chests for outrage at your work. It's hard to not take things personally(particularly with that poisonous 360/PS3 thread going on), but I wish you the best of luck.

Frankly, the problem (in my view) was that you've been doing things so well we expected you'd probably throw something awesome in there, or let us know if that wasn't going to work out. The communication gap was the exception, not the rule, so I have faith that the next chest will live up to your promises.
Please do tell us if that isn't going to happen, though. I had newbie friends lose sleep they really needed getting that chest because they thought it might help them run NM.

Poisonous thread? We got royally screwed, we have every right to be pissed off. The lack of support from my gaming peers continues to astound me. Bioware is decidedly not awesome.

I'm not upset or mad about the chest. I will say though, that you guys should try to mind better what everyone in the team says; when it comes to new content. I think most players would have been content if they were flat out told the last chest wouldn't be special by all members of the dev team. It's uniformity in answers that we want more than anything. Plus, I'm sure those commendation chests likely made a new or lower leveled player really happy; which a lot of people forget.

The way I've always seen it, these chests were mostly made for new players, to introduce them to the game and have them playing for 4 weeks. (as these Books were introduced around the time the PC trial started happening, also if you've read Varric's chapters, it's all about new recruits becoming proper agents.) So my hopes about what I'll find in the chest weren't that high in the first place. I just like free stuff. RNGesus was in my favor so I got two purples.

 

But, considering this was the first time they've attempted something like this, I can forgive them for this chest deployment hiccup. I'm not going to go all Tom on Bubble Buddy on Beardidditrinity just because of technical issues, either.

Challenges are now all going to be bundled into little books. 5 at a time.

 

And we seem to have the kinks ironed out.

 

The next books 5th star reward is (i think) really cool.

 

Will the Labor Day challenge weekend be extended due to the Holiday?  Just curious as it has been done this way in the past

There a place where we can sign up and just have the commendation chest pre-salvaged for us?  Or better yet just change it so we get tier 3 mats instead of items/potions?
