I haven't played this game in awhile and was wondering if they ever dealt with that.

That is bad news indeed.

You mean the uniform? I don't think it can be changed.

If you're on PC there are mods for that.

You can use cheat engine on pc to allow you to use your armor at Skyhold. ( i was using it until patch 8, need to wait for a update for patch 9 now )

I think your game is bugged. None of my inquisitors have worn Pajamas in any game.

The mods for the PJs are top of the line, start looking there if you have a PC.

What, you mean you don't sleep in full-sleeve button-up jacket, leather pants, and shin-high boots?

It must be a regional thing.

The Skyhold outfit reminds me of oatmeal colored long Johns which also button down and have weird seam lines. I don't see the pants as being leather either and the fact that the top and the bottom are the same color just cement the long Johns impression for me.

I agree. The outfit is too skintight, and the material too thin, to make it look anything like a jacket with leather pants.

Perhaps the outfit for males looks a little (but just marginally) less pyjama-like than that for females, hence the differing opinions?

It's the same outfit for everyone, and it looks dumb regardless. I don't know what they were thinking with that one.

Still stuck with it though - yep.

they're not pajamas.  It's a warm up suit.

Hate the "PJs" myself.  They do seem to be eternal.

I didn't think things could get worse after Hawke's house outfit and MotA outfit but I was proven wrong with the Skyhold PJs

They're not pyjamas, they're doublets.  Which are a real, historical, thing.

But yes, there are mods to replace them, and we should be allowed more options.

Then why'd you post a picture of pajamas?

For folk on the PC who don't like any of the mod options, cheat engine v48 table for DAI still works for changing the Skyhold outfit.

@Nefla: The leather minidress Bioware stuffed female Shepard into for ME3 was probably worse than Hawke's leisure suit. Not saying that the leisure suit was good, but it was marginally better since it sort of fit the situation -- at home and relaxing.

As for why the pajamas looks so awful and out of place to many of us, one of these is not like the others (images):

Spoiler

The beige pajamas are really just so many bad decisions rolled into one, it's difficult to count them all:

(1) They accent the inquisitor's unnatural default standing pose, which makes every scene with a standing inquisitor look bad. Try to stand like the inquisitor in her pajamas for a while without wanting to put down your arms -- you can't, because no-one holds their arms out like that unless they're carrying groceries or lifting hand-weights or something. This pose was designed around avoiding clipping on a character model with thicker arms and thighs due to armor and little stuff like books and daggers. In reality the clothes and such would deform to let your arms rest naturally, but that's not possible in videogames yet and so animators have to use other tricks. Putting the inquisitor in a skin-tight outfit accentuates the unnaturalness of the standing pose.

(2) They look out of place because, unlike every single other outfit in the game, they have no layering, details, or color variation to make them interesting. This is why they stick out despite being plain and beige -- they look nothing like anything else in the game. And the human eye is instinctively drawn to out of place things.

(3) They function as the under-layer for all inquisitor armors. This is called 'underwear' or 'small-clothes'.

(4) They're not merely skin-tight, but appear to be molded like second skin. Especially on female characters, where the jacket has apparently been lovingly molded around each breast. Yes, this is theoretically possible to achieve with leather, and it implies that someone in-game sat down and actually molded leather until it perfectly fitted the inquisitor's bust, for the sake of one of the most unflattering outfits Bioware has come up with for a main protagonist.

(5) And altogether they just don't look like something that the leader of one of the most-powerful organizations in Theadas would wear while executing folk.

*snip of awesome post*

I agree on all points and that outfit also showcases the elf male inquisitor's horribly broken arms and shoulders. I didn't care about the dress in ME3 (though it was ugly) because it was optional. I didn't ever have to see it or use it. I wouldn't care about the inclusion of the long underwear either if it was an option.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Leather doesn't naturally do that so if the top is supposed to be leather then yeah it's a bad thing but I know something that DOES stretch to fit every nook and cranny...the stretchy fabric of long underwear! :D

Serioulsy guys, the skyhold PJ's are worn when in bed (waking up in Haven having previously been wearing armor) and are under the inquisitor's armor/robes/combat outfit. You don't wear a "leather jacket" under a different leather long coat, etc...
