Hello.

First of all I want to thank BioWare for such amazing game, please keep it this way. I haven't seen so good game for so long time. I appreciate your work! Truly! And please, don't change the course, you've made it perfect!

I've been looking for any information about today's game patch. Could anyone share with some details about an update?

Dragon Age™: Inquisition Patch 9

==============================

Fixed an issue where resetting options of any category could also reset the game difficulty.

Fixed an issue which could cause Multiplayer potions to be consumed if target mode was entered and cancelled.

Fixed an issue which could cause the Yavanalis staff headpiece to not display in Multiplayer.

Added a hot key for Salvage in Multiplayer.

Fixed some issues that caused some localized text to not fit in their proper display areas.

Fixed an issue that could cause XP and other stats to double in Multiplayer.

[PC] Fixed an issue which could cause on-screen flickering when using AMD Crossfire dual GPU and Mantle.

[Xbox One] Fixed unnecessary “online connection” popup at game launch

[PS4] Fixed an issue which could cause the game to become unresponsive when losing connection while joining a full Multiplayer session.

<_<  <_<  <_<  No fixes to the real issues ... unless you play MP mostly.

Thank you for the information. Is there any source you can share with?

I'm so enjoyed the Story, that I don't ever tried Multiplayer. Spend 100 hours and still want for more and more :)

They already announce that they will drop "all support" for last-gen; including patches.....  -_-  -_-  -_-

What's even worse is that the reason given was that the future patches would include things to prepare for upcoming dlc. This patch only contains MP fixes. Seems more and more they are giving last genners the finger.

;)  No. The finger was given when they didnt bother to fix issues and complains on last-gen. They are giving last genners the fist now  -_-

The patch includes a lot of content (darkspawn faction, new character, new items, etc.).

At this point, any fixes that go into the patches are almost incidental. You're not missing out on anything on the old consoles (other than the new content, that is).

By the way, will devs make the support for directX12?

This patch: 3.2gb on PS4 in NA

Last patch: 2.14gb on PS4 in NA

I am not sure how any of those fixes listed would cause an increase of 1.1gb of patch size.

I am sure people have or will datamine shortly to find things we have added

By the way, will devs make the support for directX12?

I would say it is pretty unlikely but never know

Why was the patch only like 1.5GB on PC? Better patching tools? (Or do the consoles not require a full install?)

Different file system:
Pros: Smaller on disc size, less maintenance
Cons: More memory cost, and slightly longer load times (which is why using an SSD makes a very large difference).

Basically why the PS4 game is ~42gb whereas PC is ~25gb (not completely the difference, since PS4 contains between 1-3 VO languages depending on the region, but PC is only 1(except for on DVD disc))

Thanks. I didn't realize the compression gulf was that large.

Will we ever get a decent patch with SP fixes? With your companions not standing and watching my ass being handed to me during battle etc? Another MP patch feels really bad for someone who doesn't play MP. This things should really be separated. Add MP if you like, or something. But I would be happy with at least some fixes for SP from time to time.

Not only that, but it was 3.6 gigabytes for me on the Xbox One. There is probably DLC stuff in it. I'm curious to see the size of Descent in comparison.

I'm very saddened that there are still a lot of things in SP that need to be fixed (especially for oldgen) but are being ignored.

I certainly cant make any promises, but ill just point out some trends.

This patch is being released with the descent, which (design wise and programming wise) nearly completely driven out of BioWare Austin (this was the first time they had worked on the game, except for a small amount that worked on the PC Beta). So it is expected they may not be the best to fix main game bugs (something something risky).

The patch before this came out with Dragon Slayer, a MP focused DLC, not sure what else I need to say on the matter.

The patch before that one was with Hakkon, which touched a number of SP bugs.

So, you can only patch SP bugs when SP content comes out? I'm sorry, but I don't see the logic there. You guys managed to do MP fixes alongside SP ones for the first few patches. Plus, there have been 2 item packs for SP if you want them to come out with SP content, one of which has some glitches that need fixing.

Errr... so our best hope is that no new bugs are being introduced. Local bugs like in JOH, critters/enemies falling into the ground resulting in melee attacks not being able to hit them. Slightest of terrain elevation will also causes melee attacks to completely miss them at point blank.

No I am not saying we can only patch SP bugs when SP content comes out.

I am sorry but I can not provide much clarification here, was just pointing out a trend that people can see based on information that is already known and not due to insider information.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm just sick of all of the "we can't clarify anything at all" attitude/mandate that seems to be Bioware's new norm. I'm not saying you have to say it, but surely it's possible for someone to tell us "More SP bug-fixes are planned" or "No SP bug-fixes are planned at this time".

Again, I apologize if I'm coming off badly, but it's aggravating to be left to wonder about everything.

Why does this patch not include bugfixes for the spoils of the qunari dlc. They are pretty atrocious atm, especially for iron bull.

So those of us who only play SP have to wade through multiple gigabytes of stuff that doesn't really pertain to us.  The storage space on my console isn't growing to accept more and more such ballast either.  No, sorry.  I'm staying offline.  I'll continue rejecting the last 2 patches.

Unfortunately there is no concept of SP patch and MP patch. The same argument could be made for people who buy the game for MP only and have to deal with the majority of the space being taken up for a mode that they will never be used by them.

You are welcome to reject patches, just a warning though if you plan on getting DLC they do require the patches
