In both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2, there were four variants of dragons to encounter:  Dragonlings, Dragons (which were female subadults), Drakes (the males), and of course, High Dragons.

In Dragon Age: Inquisition, we only see two of these:  Dragonlings and High Dragons.

Is there any chance that we could please see a return of at least the drakes?  Drakes defending each high dragon would have made the battles more interesting (and also difficult, but that's kind of the point of a dragon battle, isn't it?).

The subadult female dragons were also usually tough encounters and worth seeing, but maybe I'm the only one who remembers them?

We had five kind of dragons in origins, you forgot dragon thrall, we had two encounters with them one in the main game and the other in awakening.

And DA2 didn't have any drakes. you Mistook them for the ones you mentioned in the end.

But yeah the game need to have more dragons not less.

There's also the Great Dragons, as introduced in the Dark Horse comics (The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, some other third title which I'm forgetting because I read the collection...)

One question though - were all the dragons we fought High Dragons? Only one was labeled such, in the Western Approach. I'm curious as to what the devs consider a High Dragon vs. a regular dragon, as far as new fight mechanics/combat goes. It'd be a little odd if regular dragons were as big as a High Dragon suddenly, but maybe that can be explained by regular dragons reaching the end of their maturity cycle.

Imagine a fight though where the High Dragon is tossing party members around and the drakes are stomping towards you on the ground (and would actually be proper opponents, instead of the mama dragon throwing her babies to the wolves as has been happening). That'd certainly be...interesting  :D

High dragons were just adults.

And I did forget dragon thrills, they are blighted dragons.

Great dragons are supposedly a subspecies, I'd like to see those too.

Could swear there were drakes in DA2, but maybe it's just been too long for me to remember.
