Console version of the game in Sweden cost about 86.5 $ for the game and 122 $ for CE
And for the PC about 65 $ for the game and 93 $ for CE

True, with some variatons between sellers. I got my PC CE preorder for around $91 I think.

Typical pricing. I don't know why that is, but different platforms = different prices.

We're already paying more.
But while people complain they don't stop buying games. So as said, as long as companies get away with it they are going to rob us blind Posted Image

Best for us Europeans would be to start buying games in yhe UK. With the UK's Pound linked to the Dollar the UK prices are more/less equal to US. But as UK is part of the EU we Europeans can freely import it.

Just to run the numbers,
The PC version is €45,- (in dollars: $72,50)
Now in UK it costs £25,- which equals €27,50 (in dollars $41,25)
A whopping $30 dollars difference. I'm no financial major but you don't need to be to see these numbers only add up in the producers pockets. Posted Image

So maybe that's the reason the UK got the crappy CE version so that the Europeans won't buy it. Posted Image

It has probably been stated but that is just always the way it is, the 360 version is always more expensive than the 360 version (probably because the development cost of your PC is not priced into the game the way it is for consles)...

Personally I have a PC and and PS3, I also have a 360 controller of the PC... So I am good for anything that is not a 360 exclusive...

However it has to be said that the latest Halo and the DLC for GTA4 have me thinking that 200 GBP is not really all that much.. Posted Image

GTA4 DLC is coming to PS3 this month i think, and the last Halo isn't all that great
EDIT: But 200 £ is incredebly cheap, here in Norway that is about 3 new games

That's exactly what I did, since i'm getting tired of being overcharged compared to Americans. Plus that way I'm sure to get at least decent voice-acting and a lack of translation mistakes. Posted Image

i was just joking not a big deal to me. My real question is- how do i know i get the lucky stone dlc? my email on this site and gamertag email is the same. Shouldn't I get confirmation I'll get the lucky stone or do i have to wait until I buy the game and play it?

I haven't receieved a confirmation email yet, myself.  I'm assuming that they are waiting until closer to release to activate this.

Just another reason console gamers are suckers. Not only are the game prices cheaper at launch, but game prices tend to drop like a cannon ball shortly after release. We also have our good buddy, Steam, always giving us gaming goodness at rock bottom prices.

The PC is just superior in every way. The two arguments console owners have is that they can play with a gamepad on their couch...as if you can't hook up a PC to an HDTV and play it with a gamepad, wireless mouse & keyboard, or better yet, a gamepad & a mouse!. And the other, is that the console is cheaper. I can get an old computer with a PCI-E slot for about $300, slap a $200 graphics card in it, and it will kick the crap out of any console. So you may pay a little more. But you can do so much more, and you are going to save a TON of money on games.

I rest my case

There is one thing I prefer consoles for, and that is portability.

Seriously, you can carry a console and a couple of controllers around to anywhere there's a TV and hook it up for a multiplayer game, whereas trying to get a LAN part going with a PC game requires everyone to lug a huge amount of equipment to the venue and fuss about with cables.

But for single-player or internet gaming, as well as modding, the PC is a far better platform.

Console Makers are passing down the money they lost when selling each unit by raising licensing fee for the game developers. Since PS3 originally were $800ish to produce sold at $499 they are just passing down all the loss to the game developer and that eventually pass down to the consumer. Same goes for Xbox360. Granted we see more and more ads inside each box nowadays game developers have been smart, getting paid for those junk ads such as from say.... Alien Wares (lol @that company)

IMO, if game developers are going to make make 3-4 dollar/game in terms of Ads we should get at least 1.50 off =(. Heck from what my friends been telling me, their company that makes specifically cheap kids NDS games actually makes money from selling 14.99 NDS games mainly due to the money they generate from Ads.

When it comes down to it, these guys are business geniuses, each PS3 will somehow end up costing you 800 dollars, and each 360 will eventually end up costing you 500 so they always end up breaking even. Console gaming might appear cheap superficially, but deep down if you fall into the sinkhole they will eventually end up to be the same.

I do have all 3 systems and I prefer my PC until it gets outdated; mainly because I can play 2-3 games at same time.  Like que up for group in WoW while farming HNM in FFXI and play CoD2 on 3 diff screens.  Now... if there is only a way to make SLI work with 3 monitors... I could be playing some animes in the background.

My 360 gives me convenience. Sure, you could use a controller with your PC and sit on a couch but not all PC games can be played with a controller and honestly, it'd be too much bother, hooking it up to a television and then unhooking it when I'm ready to play on it traditionally again.

Whenever I buy a video game I don't have to worry about whether my computer will play it or not.

Technology is developing at a faster pace than it ever has before. Pretty soon consoles will match the graphical capabilities of high-end PCs.

Am I saying console gaming is superior to PC gaming? Of course not. I game on both.

same here. i prefer the english versions anyways, and honestly see no reason why anyone should buy the overcharged, often censored versions here.

Where the hell have you been the last few years? It's been $60 since the last gen of consoles have come out, 360 and PS3 that is. It's M$ and $ony that decided to up the cost without a doubt. This is why I usually buy games used or just rent because I go through them in a day or two. When I do buy new it's a game I'm betting will be well worth it or have a benefit of doing so, like DA:O with the free DLC included in a new version of the game.

I'm not so sure about this. Yes, maybe the next generation of consoles will match the capabilities of today's high-end PCs...but then the incremental improvement of the PC market will see them leap ahead again.

Micro ATX case, mouse, keyboard, Headphones....what more do you need?

Don't even need to carry any games, just get a noCD crack and your good to go

That raised consol price is just something we have to live with. When in doubt buy used.

as for PC over console for me at lest its all about what I'm playing. I prefer most action games on the consol with my RTS FPS and RPGs being on the PC.

Yeah, that would be funnier if I was actually out of shape...considering I workout twice a day, surf on some weekends, and am built like a fighter, just goes to show that a large amount of adult (and young} gamers are lazy and weak-minded, not all. The platform they play on has little to do with it.

I game on both PC and consoles. And i spend much more time on my Xbox games then i do with my PC (MMOs the exception). I definatly don't feel like a sucker. Some games were well worth that 60 dollar price tag (Batman: AA, Prototype, Mass Effect, Bioshock). Others will go down to 30 dollars a couple months time.
As i said in another forum. Because PCs have a stronger hold in the hardware department does not mean playing on a console is an inferior experience, console graphics are still great. I don't even use half the keyboard commands when playing PC games because they are so spread out their useless anyway.
The majority of cross platform games release their console version prior to the PC version so while your grinning smugly over your perty graphics and adjusting your mouse position. Ill be playing the newer games with little to no setup.

Come on, do we really need to have a Console vs PC war here? I could see the point where the games on the platform were different enough that they had different kinds of gamers, but now that we get few exclusives, console vs PC is just a matter of convenience and personal preference.

Personally, I prefer the PC because there are some games I love playing that only run on it (Civ 4, Europa Universalis 3, to name only two), but i could be just as happy playing on a console if I didn't have a good gaming PC.
