You're the first person I've encountered who says Episode 2 is his/her favorites!

ESB. No question. If I had to rank them all, I'd say: 

 

1. The Empire Strikes Back. 

2. Revenge of the Sith(I don't know who salvaged this mess,*cough*the actors*cough* but Lord bless them.)

3. Return of the Jedi

4. A New Hope

5. The Phantom Menace

6. Attack of the Clones(absolutely terrible. In like every way.)

I'd list more, but those are the only Star Wars films that Lucas ever made. Right? RIGHT?

Having said that, Star Wars is nearly there and ROTJ has the ultimate showdown between Luke, Vader, and the Emperor.

PS: Obi-Wan is the best thing of the prequels imho.

The original three easily, in the order of most favorite to least favorite it would be 4, 6, 5. Out of the more modern Star Wars movies I would have to say the 3rd was my favorite.

I would honestly have to say it is Return of the Jedi.  It may have it's flaws, and Empire is perhaps a more consistently good movie, but I feel that the good of Jedi blows the bad way out of the water.  Sure we get the ewoks and a lame death for Fett, but in return we have the masterfully executed confrontation between Luke, Vader and the Emperor, as well what is still my favorite space battle in all of cinema.  If you ask me, it would be quite a tall task to end the original trilogy on any other note.

Star Wars 8. There's no information about it available and the planning for it really hasn't begun, so as of now, it is immaculate in its perfection and we the public are free to imagine it in every possible form. Since it conforms to what I imagine it would be and the casting is exactly as it ought to be with tight sreenwriting and gorgeous cinematography, it is clearly the best Star Wars movie ever. Number nine is similar in that respect, but it suffers from being the last one, so it offers no hope for the future after it.

Probably Return of the Jedi, but I haven't seen the original trilogy in quite some time, so I'd have to rewatch them again to give you a better opinion.
