Hi all. I was thinking of starting playing through the game again with the DLCs, but I got about 45 minutes in to the game and I couldn't stand it any longer. I thought I could ignore it, but I can't. Please tell me there is some kind of mod or something that stops the journal entry box thingy from popping up all of the time. It annoys me so much and has to be one of the worst pieces of design in the game!

 

I go in to the journal to deactivate the quest so it doesn't pop up, but then the game can't wait to put something else in there...the worst one is just 10 minutes in to the game. The objective is to follow Cassandra, so I go in to the journal screen and turn that off, the box disappears, great!....then I pick up an Elfroot, and now the objective, in a big transparent box covering one side of the screen is 'save herbs for later' or something. I do not need that on the screen the whole time to remind me to not do anything with the herbs!

 

You might think it only a small thing, but it really shouldn't be like this. So is there a mod or something?

There's a menu option about showing the quest box. I can't remember what it's called but I think you can turn it off

I'm in it atm. makes it fade away after a time, but it still stays on for ages, and reappears at very strange times. I can go in to the journal and turn off the quest each time, but that is tiresome, and whenever you pick up a new quest(collect 10 Elfroot for example), it makes that your primary quest for some inexplicable reason!

 

I find it very bizarre.

They think we all morons and incapable to figure out by ourselves what to do. You just have to disable this manually every time. It's very annoying, but don't worry in game you will find even bigger announces in comparison update box will pale and become small inconvenience.
