The new DLC should be out today in some regions already.

As always, before I buy DLC for this game, I'd like to know if the 15€ for the additional game hours are worth it, and I'm sure some others might want to know as well.

If you played and completed the DLC already, would you mind to give a quick, spoiler-free summary on what's in the content pack?

I for one care about story and characters only and I'm not that much into the exploration/loot aspect. Others might see it different, but that's just my preference.

Your preference is more-or-less the norm from what I see on this site.

The Cullen thread rates it 0/10 for the lack of Cullen-related content. :P

I'd like to know as well please, I made a post in the spoiler forum and now I'm too scared to look. Since they've abandoned old gen, are we getting higher quality now? More cut scenes, better polish, no fetch quests, character interaction?

Well, there is quite a bit of lore explored in the DLC.

Almost no interactions with your companions. They say about a dozen lines put together during the entire DLC.

Without spoiling it much, from what I saw on youtube and other places, this DLC pretty much follows the same path as JoH. Main difference is that it's linear rather then open world.

The story is light. The start is pretty good, but the pace dies out soon and before you realize it, you are in a dungeon crawl filled with combat after combat. It does have more cutscenes then JoH though. There is only one boss battle and the ending was pretty disappointing in my opinion, answering absolutely no question that the DLC raises.

Out of curiosity what is the level requirement?  I'm 14 on my current playthrough, will i need to load one of my previous inquisitors?

That doesn't sound too appealing. I feared a dungeon crawler, which just isn't the type of content I really enjoy.

The devs said level 12 for the the beginning, with the dungeon getting harder afterwards. I think you should try and start and see how far you'll come, as level 14 sounds like a good entry level.

It's in the deep roads; aka A DUNGEON.

I've only started, but so far it's a dungeon crawler. Quite a bit of interaction between the new characters, but my other companions remain a quiet bunch.

So far lots of fighting darkspawn and lots of collecting shards  gears.

How come people already have completed it while I could only download it just now? What kind of magic is this?

Not an argument. The Deep Roads in Origins and 2 had a story.

It came out at different times in different regions.

Oh ok, that makes sense. I thought it was the same world wide.  :)

Last weekend I bought JoH and now The Descent, but haven't play it yet, so I have hours and hours of fun ahead of me. Yay!  ^_^

Interesting question.  The Order 1886 had a lot of those...but it wasn't a great game.

Are you sure you read what I was commenting on? Jaison1986 wrote that the story is rather light and it's more of a dungeon crawl, where afterwards I expressed my concern for the depth of the story.

There's a story in the deep roads, ergo it is a DEEP STORY.

I just started it, I'm maybe 1 hour, or maybe 1 1/2 hours in - but it's so good! There are cutscenes! Interesting new characters! Funny banter!

Spoiler

I don't understand how you can compare this to JoH - JoH is a DLC that is like the other regions in the main game, a main quest throughout the zone and some side quests, standard fare.. The Descent, so far, is completely linear (well, duh), so the story is tighter. There are scripted encounters, cutscenes, and so on. I prefer that but YMMV of course. (I also like the Darkspawn stuff and their lore, which helps I guess). I can't comment on the story yet but I really love it so far. Have to go back playing it!

Again: CUTSCENES!!!

ETA: It feels a lot like Legacy, just better IMHO (I never really liked Hawke, so a story about Hawke's family was bound to fall flat for me). It's very similar in style.
