Okay so there has probably been a MASSIVE onslaught of discussion on this already but I can not find a centralised thread to discuss it......anywhere.

So, Bioware loot/geek stuff/SWAG/whatever you want to call it.

We all have our favourites and we have all had stuff we've had our eye on but could never get due to Bioware's limited time of availability and limited stocks on basically anything cool in their store.

Shirts, figurines, statues, even blasted stickers and badges. :D

So let's discuss what we'd like to see/what our old pipe dreams were.

And let's also discuss how serious we'd be for opening the stocks so Bioware can take more risks with us and get us more stuff we actually want, rather than the $330 statues and $500 gun replicas that only the highest paid elites in the community could get.

I'll start the ball rolling with the Mass Effect Figurines.

I really liked them, only managing to snag up the first iteration of the Garrus figurine due to either shipping or availability for money at the very small window of opportunity for buying one.

I would LOVE to be able to buy the Play Arts Kai Tali and Garrus and maybe even a Legion figure....if they were around any more. Now I know that was a limited deal with Square Enix's manufacturer but dammit if I am not salty with being unable to have the desk decoration I want. :D

I honestly do not know why Bioware hasn't thought of the more smaller lines/medium lines for figurines/ statues.

And it's painfully obvious why they have a $330 Tali statue on the store instead of a $50 Tali figure in the store....right?

One thing only those with A LOT of money could buy easily or one thing many more could easily buy....hmmmm, nope I am rather baffled.

Maybe the figurines cost more to make but I am certain the profits would outweigh it. Maybe it's a manufacturing patent/process that's the problem.

Or maybe it's just that the games aren't the height of success at the time (even though the next game set in the universe is going to be made soon and hype is already being drummed up for it, which would mean people replaying the old ones for some more hype.)

In any case it's my personal taste that the figurines should come back, not just for ME but for Dragonage as well.

Oh and old Tshirt designs. ME/DA Legacy shirts range anyone? :D

I really need to see the Elcor plush available again. Those things sold out way too fast!

And I know this has been brought up a million times, but a GARRUS plush. Or Legion. Wrex. I'd keep listing, but you get my point...

DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THE MONEY WE WOULD THROW AT YOU, BIOWARE???

I have often wondered why games studios do not open this market, especially seeing as the return money and notoriety they'd get from it would do wonders for them.

The only thing I can think of that would hinder them is shipping and manufacturing costs.

I mean, take Fallout for example.

Even if we assume the last 2 years were a lull year for anything Fallout related, how many players do we estimate still playing the game(s)?

I can guess at least 3000 internationally. Given how the Fallout Nexus has it's download rates still being pretty stable at a decent number.

If Bethesda brought out a store right now with fallout based memorabilia and sold them they would find a lot of people buying it up.

Deathclaw statues, little faction based statues, weapon replicas (obviously only props given international gun laws like that of the UK) and all kinds of other stuff that if there was a full range people would no doubt buy a lot of. I mean instead of having to go out and buy an airsoft gun, disable it and remod it for a cosplay they could just buy a prop gun from Bethesda themselves.

And Bioware could do the same thing.

And if they're worried about a potential risk I would say they should have more confidence in what they have made. Especially as people still love Mass Effect, Dragon Age and even KoTOR. Or TOR. But that one would rely on them contacting Disney for the rights to produce stuff.

But yeah, Bioware have more faith in what you have made. :D

I'd slap N7 on everything if given an affordable opportunity!!!

I've got a jacket, shirt, scarf, hat, all the novels, comics, and even calendars! For goodness sake, I own N7 snow goggles for my skiing!

I'd buy a bookbag, bring me back the sweatpants, and gosh darnet just give me a plush to snuggle with!

You make some great stuff Bioware (games included. ME3 was a great game.), and I want to see some more products! :)

I bought two of the statues from the gaming heads line, and I'm hardly a "highly paid elite". It's called saving your money. You know Bioware is going to be putting this stuff out, so save up that way when something you like comes along that's limited stock you'll have the funds to get it.

Ah but this is usually the problem.

A lot of people are saving their money for a lot more important things these days such as school, living expenses and insurances. Not all can justify keeping that savings account that full for that long.

And even then there is so little stock in a very small window of opportunity that even if you have the money saved you might not hear about the sale of the items until they're already sold out.

I have priorities before I go splurge on $190 statues -_-

Actually, exactly what Mazder said there...

school, living expenses and insurances. Not all can justify keeping that savings account that full for that long.

And another point, I can tell both Mazder and myself are Tali'Zorah fans (Keelah Se'lai!). And I just discovered a brand new Tali statue on the Bioware Store. The "less expensive" one is $79. I can't just go blow all my money buying incredibly beautiful statues! I'd have all of them if I could!

But I just want the store to realize and pursue a more... affordable path for those with a tight budget but a huge love of Mass Effect!  :P

And that's all important, but you can't expect a business to lower their prices because of your predicament. No one is telling you to save $365 in one months check, small amounts add up over time. These statues are announced 7-10 months before release and it's not a stretch to expect there will be many more in the future. Tali's statue won't be out until october-november the earliest. GH has been experiencing delays lately with this line, so it could be moved down a couple months as the Liara statue which means more time to save money. Remember these products aren't necessities, but luxuries.

The old, canvas Normandy Messenger Bag. I know there are ME and DAI bags right now in the store, but I just like the old one, and now I could actually buy one :(

It's like someone is listening to me. That never happens...

Because plush Elcor is back, now offering a backpack, freaking Monopoly (I lived off that game when I was younger), and now I just sit and wait for some sweatpants before I throw my money at Bioware.

Forget life savings.

I want this so badly. I TOLD my husband I really wanted it and I never got it, now it's gone.

Now if there's something I want that much, I just get it without even mentioning it because who knows how long it will be available...

It's like whoever's in charge of the licensing doesn't know how passionate the fandom is. I want it all.... Old stuff, overpriced figures, reasonable priced figures, and NEW stuff.

I'd love the Thedas cloth map that came with the collector's edition of DAI. And more / better t-shirt designs. It's like they are not taking advantage to the potential of their merchandise, they could be selling much more stuff.

To add to what Jaron said: some of the sites that sell the more high quality stuff (Gaming Heads and Sideshow Toys, for example) also offer payment plans where you pay part of the total cost over the months leading up to the release. If you put away a bit at a time then it helps make the payoff easier.

Haha, better to ask forgiveness than permission! I like your style.

I did that with the Garrus exclusive from Gaming Heads. Made it up to her by getting her some merch off the Bioware store
