I know neither of these are 'full' romances to the extent that some of the others are but I'm running multiple playthroughs to experience as many different options as possible and I was wondering if you can romance both Kelly and Allers at once?

 

According to the wiki you can't be locked into a relationship if you want to 'romance' Kelly Chambers but it also says that Allers doesn't lock you into a relationship. So I think you should be able to do both but I want to be sure before I dedicate an entire runthrough to it.

Kelly is ME2 and Allers is ME3 so why not?

 

Kelly doesn't appear in ME3 unless you have dinner with her in ME2.  And then you can forget to warn her so she dies int he citadel attack.  Allers comes after that.

Well then Wiki is wrong because it says:

"If Shepard had dinner with her and she survived the Collector's abduction in 2185, she will be found at the back of Cargo Hold B".

 

Are you confusing the dinner (where she agrees to feed your fish) with romance?

The fish-feed dinner is required to see her at the docking bay, so the wiki is correct.

Apparently there's a romantic encounter in your cabin with Kelly in ME3. You have to have romanced her in ME2 and she has to survive the attack on the Citadel and you mustn't be locked into any other romance but the option is there. It's not just her giving back the fish!

 

As to why, Allers. It's just because I'm a completist

 

Having said that, while researching this I've now found out you can have one night stands with James or Javik in the citadel DLC but only if you're unattached. I think I can fit that in as long as I do the Citadel before I lock in one of the other romances. I think there's more that can happen with Samara in that DLC too.

 

Logistically, it's going to be tricky. There's only so many run-throughs I want to do

There is no encounter with Kelly on the Normandy in ME3. It only happens  in the refugee camp

The only two I've been able to dual romance are Liara and Thane.

I'm thinking I can get the additional Citadel dlc one night stands (James, Javik and/or Samara) and still romance Kaiden, Tali, Thane, Kelly or Jack as long I have the Citadel party early enough. Similarly, Samara before Ashley.

 

Not sure when Allers or Traynor lock in but they might be possible too.

 

Of course to do that, you miss out on the more permanent love interest getting any romance dialogue at the party. Which is fine for Thane and Allers as there won't be any anyway.

 

The other problem is finding reasons why my Shepards might do that. I still like to keep the roleplaying going!

Allers/Traynor will lock you out of the normal ME3 romances but not the DLC ones I think.

 

In ME2 you can dual romance Liara with any of the new characters provided you had a LI with Liara in ME1.  Shadow Broker allows this to happen.

 

In ME3 I think the only possible dual romance is Thane and then a new person.  Hold off on romancing the new person but see Thane in the hospital.  Do the romance then when Thane dies after the attack you can proceed with the other romance.  It's not exactly dual like in ME2.
