hello fans of bioware and bioware reps,

I was just siting in my room and started to think of games that would be cool to play , and it hit me it would be cool to play a star wars roleplaying game like skyrim or mass effect that would be for a console game, I don't know if its just me but I would like to play a game that is like that but not for the pc . that is just my opinion so if the people of the blog would pass this forum onto the people from bioware or someone who could pass this idea to them.

We shall call it... Knights of the Old Republic!

and it shall have terrible combat mechanics but an otherwise great story with well written companions and you'll have a "not the millennium falcon" ship.

Also, why not PC?

There is a console version of KOTOR. Is that what you are asking about?

Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are good games and held up well.

We'll release it on a console. We can get Microsoft to back it!

Combat mechanics were awesome. That is why people still sing it's praises today, unlike another game I could mention whose board I may be posting on.

Perhaps OP means a more action orientated Star Wars RPG? Something like Jedi Knight but with moar RPG?

The Star Wars setting is a pretty versatile one allowing for a great number of different games and themes from full scale war to pod racing and there is definitely potential for some excellent games within the setting, but that said I am not sure what the franchise's new Sith Overlord's policy is when it comes to licencing out new games.

Personally I would love to see a game based on the Star Wars bounty hunter experience, I know there was the cancelled 1313 that was supposedly about Boba Fett's backstory but the game always looked like it was going to be more of an uncharted clone set in the Star Wars universe.

I don't think I've ever seen people praise KotoR's combat mechanics.

but either way my opinion is still that it's among the worst I've ever seen in a game. The entire can feel free to disagree with me, it's not going to change my opinion =P

I think the dnd rule set held it back in a lot of ways. But the synched sword-fighting animations were great. And I definitely felt like a bad ass when I would stun people with Force Wave and just Force Storm everyone to death.

I would love a remake, with all the same voice-actors.

Just get over the fact that it's a MMO, like everyone else, and play TOR. I promise it won't kill you. Even Male Consular.

Combat was kind of lame because your range of movement was limited, level design had no verticality or non-linearity (imagine force jumping to fight enemies on ledges and cliffs) and encounter design was very bland. Game was ****** easy to boot.

But what I loved about KotOR combat that hasnt been matched since was the synced combat animations. It gave the game a very cinematic feel which meshed very nicely with it's cinematic dialog sequences.

We still haven't seen them since then. :(

The animations were nice, but the whole trying to blend real time and turn based just ultimately felt extremely clunky to me.

To be fair, I still have very little idea how that blend even worked. An enemy could be standing a foot from me and somehow I'd still manage to get in 3 Force Storms before he could get in a melee attack. Whether a glitch or intentional, there were more than a few problems going on.

I think they were trying to get away from Vancian Casting, since Force Powers don't really work that way, but didn't commit with the whole system.
