Hi,

I am on a fairly new processor.
Have 32 Gb RAM on an ASUS ROG Maximus mobo running an ASUS 970.
I loaded DAI about 10 minutes ago

7 minutes after clicking "Continue" - the damn thing is still loading.

As you're also moving over to Frostbite - Please do enough QA to ensure the game loads faster - who the hell wants to wait around THAT long for a game to load, even w new DLC installed?
Other games on this engine manage, hence asking,

/A

A Heads up.

QA reports only. Managers then make whatever decision they feel is appropriate.

DAI runs like a pig. However, my modest rig (see my sig), loads it under 40 secs.  Check your hardware CPU vs minimum required. I think you are below spec.

Not a bad rig. I've didn't get DA:I for PC, but for Witcher 3, my rig runs this game like a dream.

I know QA reports only,
Good companies HEED QA's reports.

What  IS it with people who assume others don't understand the rudimentaries of SWE? ;-)

Also - I think you're wrong, with a 3.5 GhZ CPU I am above the 2.0 -3.1 GhZ reqs.

But thank you for pointing it out,

Moving on: As a potential customer, I'd say load-times were important, I mean, I have clocked a f.uckton of W3 hrs - never had an issue with *load*times on a bigger, more complex game, developmentwise, the only advantage they had was in-house developed RED Engine, rather than having to jump to Frostbite, as EA -per rumour and read - penalise developers for using Unreal,  and hence, as a potential person who'd potentially pay money for their product, this is a genuine request.
Not that I for a second believe they pay much heed to users anymore, but at least I asked :)

If you are looking for some help, go to the EA Inquisition Answer HQ forum. Unfortunately it is quite a big beast.

http://answers.ea.co...p/DAInquisition

Posting your hdw specs plus your sftw including driver version may also get you a quick response from knowledgable members in this forum. Generalizations about a problem usually gets nowhere real fast.

BTW, a single, high clocked AMD CPU is marginal at best. The game is designed to use multiple CPUs and a quad core AMD CPU is the minimum. The Witcher 3 game has a min spec of an  AMD Phenom II X4 970, which is why it runs with your rig.

Good luck and happy gaming.

I don't care why it is the way it is, but DA:I's loading times or screens aren't acceptable by next-gen standards set at this point IMO. I know Witcher 3 gets bad when you get game over and it takes a while to reload (on consoles) but DA:I has so many doors and instances where it puts a loading screen inbetween whereas Arkham Knight and Witcher 3 had a consistent "game's loaded, no more loading", with the exception being fast-traveling in Witcher 3 which was faster than in DA:I.

But the worst thing in DA:I is how it consistently fades to black for more than half its loading time and that Bioware never bothered to fix it. It's like the game thinks it's ready to transition to gameplay but then it's actually only 1/3 through the loading screen and we have nothing to grab our attention. In most games they're smart that if the loading screens show some sort of info, like the cards in DA:I, they wait until loading is fully done and prompts you "press x to continue".

The loading screens in DA:I are terrible, and ME:A cannot be the same way.

I guess I wouldn't object to ME2/ME3 style loading screens either but I much prefer Mass Effect 1 where instead of loadings we got elevators to mask it, or door scanners "Stand by shore-party. Decontamination in progress" because what it meant was that the game was seamless, and not several maps that transition to each other via loading.

I wouldnt mind that either actually, either ME1 or ME3 style,  At least some of the ME3 load sequences were...somewhat seamless. Like that little area between the war room and the CIC, Shepard stops, slowly walks forward through the scanner and then the door opens and ta-da!

Im still more of a fan of the elevator sequences though but more for the squad talks :P
