You're right, the upcoming expansion Knights of The Fallen Empire is. Maybe you should watch the trailers and realize they've moved to cinematic storytelling akin to ME/DA for this new overhaul. It's a singleplayer MMO now.

The exile and revan are canon in the KOTOR universe, not the film universe. Revan was a male, the exile was a female and their actions are set in stone, regardless of what you did in Kotor1 or 2.
