Aaaand how many games before destiny has a jump feature?
You're right. They're stealing from Mario Brothers.
I'm hoping the Salarians have a higher vertical than all the other scrub races, I mean other races.

I have some concerns with pvp. In order for it to be fair and balanced, powers would have to be nerfed into the ground compared to what we are familiar with.
Also, the pvp element would likely not have the staying power that the pve element does. A lot of pvp MP games eventually end up with mostly the diehards playing, causing the game to become more and more unwelcoming to newer players as time goes on. A big part of the reason this game STILL has new players joining is because the difficulty level is consistent, and enemies don't learn new tricks over time that they use to dominate new players. I'm sure a lot of people here who have played PVP games are fully aware of just how many experienced people in those games play low level matches (through match selection or smurf accounts) just so they can endlessly pubstomp newbs.
That being said, I could see them implementing a pvp game type with drastically nerfed powers while leaving the powers in SP and PVE powerful like we are used to, but I doubt I would play it much. At that point it would lose a lot of that distinctive mass effect feel and I might as well be playing a more established PVP game.
Overall, I'm skeptical but undecided how I feel about it. I was against the implementation of MP into ME3, and yet it turned out to be amazing. I'd really need to actually see how Bioware planned on implementing it before I could really make a judgement about it.

It's one piece of circumstantial evidence, sure, but tallied up with all the things they have stated about ME:A over this past year, a Destiny clone would fit all of it.
I called it a year ago after the first reveal that it would be a Destiny clone, and I haven't seen or heard anything to convince me that it will be anything else.
Adding a jumping mechanic won't change anything tbh. Jumping is one of the most fundamental mechanics of gaming
I agree unless they add it to the same damn button that runs, interacts, takes cover, drinks water, harasses teammates, dances, offer useful sexual innuendo, sleeps, pees, poops, blinks, breathes, swim, crawls, melee, etc, etc, etc.

Judging from the E3 trailer, we may have propulsion packs, and in LolDestiny characters had propulsion packs too. In ME, you can shoot projectiles like Biotics and if you combine that with jumping around with propulsion packs, it has the feel of LolDestiny.
EDIT: It would match since everyone said it looked like Halo + Mass Effect mash up.

True. But I really hate the way you have to abuse it in PvP shooters to be effective. Takes away from the "tactical" aspect IMO, which I've always thought ME was really good at emulating. I would be more for contextual jumping - similar to how the vault mechanic works.
Well some of destiny's powers were inspired by ME. There's an old article about it where destiny devs took some ideas from ME and reshaped it. TBH devs get ideas from other Dev companies all the time. No game Dev company is 100% original and adding jumping booster mechanic in ME:A fits the theme perfectly. If the exploration is as big as they say it is then it makes perfect sense...Judging from the E3 trailer, we may have propulsion packs, and in LolDestiny characters had propulsion packs too. They're adding a JUMP button to ME: Andromeda. I'm starting to see a bit of LolDestiny...

Don't you mean a JUMP "FUNCTION"? Tragically, it will also be the A/X button or space bar.

Yeah, I guess I should have said that. Now we can jump, interact, run, take cover, and etc. with the touch of one button!!!

I haven't found one, but from the E3 trailer the character uses a jetpack or propulsion pack to fly up into the air. They wouldn't have shown it if they weren't going to implement the mechanic. The worlds are larger, and I think we are going to need a jumping feature to traverse easier unlike ME1 where Mako had to solve your problems.
I'm a huge fan of having powers in addition to guns in PvP shooters (note my avatar), so I'd love to see ME PvP done well.
Given that Bioware has never made a PvP game before, and attempting to make a fun, balanced ME PvP would be terrifyingly hard for even the best, most experinced PvP developers, I'm not really sure I'd enjoy seeing what Bioware's version of ME PvP would be like.

BOO-------------------------------------- GO HOME...YOU ARE DRUNK

I would imagine that any PvP implemented in the series would inevitably be similar to other EA PvP shooters, and for the sake of balance would remove a lot of the unique powers and interactions in the game (or at the very least nerf them significantly).
AgreeThe wide variety of content and powers in this game is what makes it entertaining. If there was PvP, much of that would be sacrificed in search of game balance. It would completely change the way the game is played and limit options.
I'm not a fan of this idea
I don't understand you guys really. if there will be a pvp, nobody forces any of you to play it. you can still play co-op. Also i do not agree in a PvP mode everything has to be nerfed for the sake of balance. One way of balancing is to make sure everything is OP. If everything is OP thats already a good start for balance.
I see Me3 PvP as a possible fun based game, not some serious game like CS:GO or any other game made for E-Sports. Strictly designed for players to have fun and laughs. Somebody asked earlier, my answer is yes, i can pretty much imagine somebody lifting me in a game with biotics. I would laugh my ass off, and my other squadmates on teamspeak would laugh their ass off too and troll me as hard as they could.
We could do objective based assault type gameplay. For example salarian team infiltrating krogan breeding facility on virmire. One team plays as salarians, other team plays as Krogan/Geth or in the map ending objective somebody would play as Saren. Or infiltrating Rannoch. One team playing any human/turian/asari or any other alliance character other team playing as Geth Primes, Rocket Troopers, Hunters or whatever. Or assaulting the Collector Base (suicide mission). One team plays as collectors and can possess Scions, can play as Harbinger or as various collector troopers (guardian, assasin, drone). Or council forces vs cerberus or reapers. the variations are limitless.
Or a simple 4v4 team deathmatch game (could be round based). Why should powers get a nerf when you can have the same powers for both sides? whats there to balance? this is nuts. who uses the available skillset better wins the round. that simple.
I really think most of you is creating non existing problems.

You do have noticed that player powers are pretty powerful and that they are balanced against HP AI sponges, right? You wanna die in a single cast of flamer?
And I'm pretty sure they sat at the table and discussed the controller mapping at length too. If they're gonna implement a jumping mechanic with boosters as we've seen in the trailer then I'm pretty sure they've got it worked out.
Also I feel it'll add greatly to the exploratory and combat experience
You sat in on the development stage?
I'm afraid that implementing PVP would not just be a bonus you don't have to play, but mainly a huge pain in the ass as it would remove many powers and mechanics from the rest of the game. Can you imagine how frustrating something like stasis or dark channel could be?
But on the other had I've got a buddy who created a semi pvp mode for ME3 which is very fun. It's a zombie mode with a few possesed abos and three players compete vs a fourth one. But it's only fun because we don't use half of the biotic powers (they make the game crash anyway). And we've foud that the sentry turret is surpisingly effetive vs players!
Thankfully I don't see PvP happening. You want your game to stick out from the crowd and having a strong single player experience coupled with a co-op multplayer worked really well. If you think about it, the game is based upon working together and bringing diverse people/races together to fight a common cause. I wouldn't be surprised that people who are attracted to this aren't that interested in PvP.
There's plenty of scope of improving the co-op multiplayer and entirely possible due to using the next gen hardware.

So, Super Mario Brothers DLC confirmed?
