One thing that Destiny did great was the inclusion of Raids. I wouldn't mind seeing such a game mode in MEAMP.
Why PVP in MP?

PvP? Sure. Make it like ArmA. A "simulator" of what combat would be if that technology and weapons systems existed.

No PVP. It's impossible to do it with any kind of balance, given ME3 powers and weapons and without them the game would be a run of the mill standard-ish shooter. (I'm not saying that MEMP is balanced though)
Anyway, I would swear and post images regarding this topic, but I've already been issued 3 warning points for nothing, so I'm walking a fine line here ![]()

I kinda like this. Now, instead of just sticking to cover, you can jump on top of it and take fire in a 360 degree arc.
Now, it will be possible to get 360 no scope biotic charge boner shots!!!! ![]()

For me, almost everything about ME3-MP is compelling and a joy to play. I like the relatively small maps, I like that you can play as a team or lonewolf and I feel that the pace of play is perfect.
No other game is quite as much fun for me and so I personally would not like to see PVP if there is MP in MEA. I didn't enjoy the latest COD or Titanfall as the emphasis seems to be too much on speed/movement/twitch and less on tactics. As others have already noted, plenty of other games do PVP well.
I would like to see more emphasis on teamwork elements. Rather than just a pizza run or hack, why not make them joint missions i.e. one player has to collect an item, but cannot run with it until another has hacked an access computer or something on the other side of the map to unlock doors for the run and a third player has to man a turret to provide cover or the runner gets swamped in baddies. Or perhaps some form of relay relating to skills, e.g an item can only be run by one player so far and has to be transferred to another player with say a jet-pack to fly the object across unpassable terrain.

I would even go that far and say:

For example, teamplay should be more rewarded.

Goddamned straight!

I don't understand you guys really. if there will be a pvp, nobody forces any of you to play it. you can still play co-op.....
....I really think most of you is creating non existing problems.
I think you're missing the point about the resources required to develop another type of game mode, when it's the co-op nature of the Mass Effect MP world which is its most powerful attraction for seemingly the majority of players - and certainly the majority of the hardcore long-term players.
There are ways of facilitating competitiveness in players without just resorting to something as traditional as PvP. If I was a Bioware dev, I would be looking at creating an environment where the best aspects of the Hall of Fame threads and Youtube videos could somehow be combined into an Armax Arena-type scenario where both individuals and teams can have their skills acknowledged - all varities of challenges could be included - individual, various team sizes, species, weapons, weekend events etc. The potential for variety is absolutely enormous. I guess it's lucky I'm not a Bioware dev.....

^ True BSN babies already whine about multiplayer and its guns and stuff (acolyte included) Cough cough
that making a PVP mode will be highly impossible as it won't ever satisfy the hunger of BSN babies
as there will always be a character or gun that will be superior or crazy game mechanics that will get nerfed or readjusted
how is this THAT much different from the whining and ranting that goes on these *alleged* co-op boards to this very day?
GI? TGI/Harrier? OP as f**k, and yet people are still enjoying ME3MP 3 years after launch...
INVADERONE, I am over 2,000 hours in and have a decent enough grasp of this game in both SP and MP and STILL say that having a PvP mode would help the next iteration of MEMP immensely. Said as much before in another thread last week, but it's CLEAR from all the scorewhoring/thunderdoming that the hardcore and even just serious players in the base are competitive! Why not give them a mode that will at least DIRECTLY address that need? Then we can see where ppl's "epeen" actually stands, instead of just footracing to spawns and nuking wave 11 sh*t and claiming superiority...

Y not both?
I like co-op multiplayer, and owe a debt to ME3 for getting me into multiplayer, period.
That being said, I've discovered that PvP can be fun, too.

I just don't see them being able to play both sides of the PvE and PvP without powers being either OP as hell in PvP or being watered down in PvE. I don't mind PvP if they want to add it on as well but I think ME3MP did a very good job with the COOP. I think they probably would rank higher comparatively in ranks of other coop games than they would in other PvP games. JMO though.

I would NEVER argue to replace the co-op we all love with PvP. Just an addition to it. I do realize that with powers, etc it'd be hard to balance, but Nuke I'll tell ya that BW has done the best job of balance in a beta style game that I've seen back when they were servicing ME3MP. I would definitely trust them to do right by any PvP they'd venture forth, especially with EAs resources behind em ![]()

Maybe. I just see too many irons in the fire then. Balancing across multiple difficulties, platforms, and PvP with maintenance, development, add on content, etc. I guess it's possible but first and foremost I want a great coop game. If they can do a great PvP game in there as well, I'm all for it.

That's the rub. I doubt it could ALL be in there with ME:A.
PvP could find it's way into the ME franchise as a 'spin off' though...I could see that (a la Forza - Horizon).
It would be a convenient way for EA/BW to consume as much of the battle-based gaming market $$ as possible...more games, more launches, more hoopla, etc.
They could call it "Mass Effect - PvP for Dew-swilling, Mouth-breathing Squids"
Waiting...

With the demands of the "public" today, they would not have enough time/money to make a truly great PVE and a truly great PVP, so there would be constant bitching, whining, moaning, and community-wide erectile dysfunction about all the ways the game would have been great, "if only they hadn't spent time and money on...*insert game mode you don't like to play*". Imo, to try to do both would be an unbelievably laughable failure, and to truly to both well, it would cost each of us an unbelievable amount of irl credit chits, ya feel? There was a whole lot of time/money that went into the ME3MP to start, then a whole lot more to patch bugs, and this game still has bugs and kits that are broke af (Paladin, anyone?)
ME3MP had it's niche in a world full of copy/paste FPS; why can't we just let ME continue to hold the niche it holds, keep the great stuff, improve on the bad stuff, and be great fun? I feel like so often people get caught up with epeen measurements and in-game numbers they forget to just go out, melt away from reality for a minute, and firebomb some spawns and actually enjoy themselves.
Sorry if that last part felt ranty.

I have to admit, I did really enjoy the MP portion of Destiny. It was my first experience with PvP and it was really fun. But the characters in that game are quite vanilla from a diversity standpoint, making it easier to have a PvP option.
If they were going to add a PvP mode to this game, they would have to remove several powers completely, like Stasis, Hunter Mode, Biotic Charge. Those and many other powers aren't even close to feasable in a PvP setting.
Unsure how they could accomplish that without changing the dynamics of the PvE and SP portions of the game.

^The reality is, for this game to be a viable PVP, they'd have to completely revamp the game. Revamp weapons, powers, all of it. It wouldn't even be recognizable as ME by the time they got it to suitable PVP status.

I mean parts of destiny are completely broken as well. A ****** hunter can kill everyone. Golden gun is an automatic three kills

Yes, but more balanced than ME3MP in a PvP setting would be ...
And that Hunter only kills me if he see's me before I shoot him with the pre-nerf Suros Regime
Edit: Void spec Warlock is also quite powerful in PvP, teleport jumping is very handy, as well as the special .. nothing beats catching multiple members of the other team trying to capture one point

And reading all these posts I'm surprised more people would be reluctant to see powers tweaked to increase the skill curve on their use.
No PVP!
I would even go that far and say:
Let's increase the coop aspect even more.
For example, teamplay should be more rewarded.
(revives, help with objectives, debuffing, sabotaging, etc. etc.)
PvP and better PvE are not mutually exclusive.
No PVP. It's impossible
I literally just posted an example of how it's possible already.
This isn't about N7 vs N7. That would be stupid.
It could be about 4 N7s vs AI and one player controlled Banshee or something like that. The player dies a lot and respawns as another enemy. The player almost never wins, but is fueled by hatred and the enjoyment of watching farm runs go up in flames.
When it's all said and done most of the arguments for NO PVP in here sound the same as the old NO MULTIPLAYER IN MASS EFFECT!
I am sorry to say but I do have no interest in a co-op section of the game.
The Mass Effect series has always been about, for me, tailoring the events from the perspective of Shepard. It's about creating that personal experience that is unique to me alone.
Co-op, no matter how well done it is, can only detract from that. I will not be having that unique experience as I will have to now share it with three others.
Look at yourselves! Look at what you've become!
