I had the exact same problem. Everyone just kept dying.
Try using your archer, and target the arms. As long as you keep moving while shooting your arrows, it shouldn't be able to hit you

The tentacles respaned? After I destroyed his tentacles, I used Mark of Rift + Mark of Death and he was dead.
I was expecting something like Gurd, this Boss was a joke.

Thats excatly what I did, I just let everyone die bar Varric and kept shooting the heart while dodging attacks, and when it would do the aoe attack when it was near done I'd revive everyone, although my tank manged to stay alive too.

Where are you that the DLC cost $21? Or are you converting to dollars from another currency?

I know right? It may be because I played that waaay too late at night, but I was super worried about what happened to Valta, but she was just like, "*crazy stuff implying hive mind* I'm fine guys! I love the Titan and his dwarf pals. Too bad about my friend guy who died and all those miners and maybe this happened before, but man, I sure do love that Titan guy! Right? He's the best!"

Whaaaa?

Maybe it's Australian dollars. I don't know.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one with that reaction. As the Inquisitor, you really weren't able to express how creepy, terrifying, and bizarre that was.

Not to mention she mentioned the Titan being like a mother and we see codex entries before with dwarves that have gotten crazy going 'hM maybe mommy wants me to rip out my teeth!'.

Yeah. There should definitely have been a choice there. Let her be in the caverns, kill her (because she's probably enthralled or something similar) or incapacitate her and drag her stubborn behind away to try to figure out what's actually going on and help.

It would be awesome if you could make that choice, and doing anything but leaving her in the cavern resulted in a massive Game Over for Inquisition as the Titan protects their own and/or seeks retribution for taking and/or killing their newly adopted mouthpiece/child. I mean, in theory it's nice to think that the PC can placate even millennial old behemoths to run roughshod over their desires, but I can't help but think it would be risky to even attempt anything beyond the existing sentiment that the Inquisitor can express. As uneasy as it might feel, getting out alive and with assurance that the earthquakes will cease is a pretty good outcome, all things considered.

Are we even certain that's Valta anymore?  Or did the Titan pull a Cory on us?

I think we couldn't kill her because she may be plot relevant later...AND...she might have been MUCH more powerful than we saw.  Attacking might have turned Inqy into a red blotch on the floor...I think this is a set up for the next game.  Valta might be the next Big Bad (or whatever is controlling her), not Solas as I thought before...maybe...hmmmm...

It was essentially the Dragon Age 2 Legacy ending all over again, except for a easier boss fight.

At least cory had different stages, this thing I could pretty much just whirlwind to death.

I don't get what's 'too easy' about this boss. It's literally the toughest fight in the entire.

Cory was handled way better, though. It was easy to rationalise the change in behaviour as being released from Corypheus' call, and his smirk of victory was delivered to the player, not the player character. I mean, some of the hints were pretty heavy-handed, but Valta is basically just straight-up 'I got Titan'd' and Quizzy is all 'oh, okay then.' Cory relied on Hawke not being omniscient, whereas Titan!Valta just relies on the Inquisitor being terrible at inquisiting.

Yeah, the bit at the end was kind of sloppy to me, to be honest. A DLC is too short for me to get invested Valta much for me to understand her motivations. It just seemed sloppy to me.

I had a dual-wielding dwarven Inquisitor, Cassandra and Iron Bull get taken out very quickly, twice. I was trying to keep everyone in the fight, but decided to leave them for dead after the second shellacking that thing handed to me. I stuck with Dorian and spammed fire mine, immolate & wall of fire while staying on the run, slugging a few health potions and restoring my barrier.

At first, I didn't know what part of the final boss I was supposed to be attacking, until I noticed the limbs. But I had no idea the heart was another target, I just kept using lightning magic, arrows and whatever other projectile-based attack my team utilised, on the limbs while running around in circles til it finally hit the dirt.

Overall, it was an easier boss fight in comparison to that damn Emissary Alpha! That one, and the Gurd Harofsen battle, will forever have my hate.

I think the difficulty of this boss really depends on the team you bring. People bringing multiple ranged characters are screwed, since they have to micromanage where they are at all times to avoid the huge pillar from crushing them.

Oh yeah, that was waaaaaaay too easy. I thought my two mage two archer team was just kicking serious ass. I had to double check to make sure my difficulty was still set to Nightmare after I finished.

My dual wielding rogue got taken out quickly (yes, I know now to keep away from the tentacles) and I wasn't paying enough attention to where Dorian and Varric were standing so they were unconscious by the time the Guardian was down to half health. Luckily, like pretty much everything else in the game, it was unable to seriously threaten Blackwall so he just hacked away at it until it died. Not the most exciting way to win the fight, but I'll use some actual tactics next time.

(This is also how I took out the Storm Coast dragon and the Red Lyirum Dragon the first time I fought them. Blackwall does not do a lot of DPS the way I build him, but boy, he is tough.)
