That part sucked. I had two characters go down and I couldn't revive them because some how the boss was right on top of them. I had to rely on Solas and Blackwall to bring it down and it took forever.

The other thing that bugged me about the ending was;
The "Cry in the Dark" mission.
What? The door is magically gone and we assume Valta was crying about something but make no real attempt to figure it out/find her?
And;
"tell them the truth, you don't know what happened."
Eh?
They're still going to want a report of what happened, regardless. And as an ally, I feel it's owed to them. Theyd be PO'ed if the Inqy's response is "herp derp, dont have a clue what happened. M'kay? Sorry. K'bye.

On the final boss;
-with a Mage, I just kept barrier up on squaddies. Then kept spamming barrage/immolate/fade cloak etc.
-With my DW assasin rogue, I kept hitting MOD, hidden blades, trigger MOD, then going to spinning blades/flank attack/twin fangs etc rinse&repeat.
-with warriors I used shield wall to generate guard then used attacks and back to shield wall repeat.
Also have regeneration potion with proximity heal. You can usually heal 1-2 squaddies (or all) with 1 regen potion. And make sure you have a Mage with revive.
(Plus, I use heavy armor on my mages with guard on hit. Very potent combo for defense. This way, I'll have barrier AND guard going at the same time on each of my warriors and mages. So enemies have to chew thru barrier, then chew thru guard before they ever get to the squads health.)

Hated that boss fight. It played more like a boss fight from some action game where you just gotta keep range, learn when the big man attacks and then spam away when he's delayed.

I just used a tempest rogue with a bow and killed the titan alone since the stupid companions kept running into rocks so I decided it wasn't worth having them swallow all my potions.

The boss fight was rather easy for me despite playing on nightmare. I just used mark of the rift and Varric's hail of arrows and the boss was dead in under three minutes. I didn't even use any of my KE skills.

I've gone through so far with:

Rift Mage Inky, Sera, Cole, Cassandra

Archer Inky, Solas, Cole, Cassandra

DW Inky, Vivienne, Iron Bull, Varric

It was ok once I stopped trying to keep my dual-wielding rogue alive. Whether it's Cole or Inky, two hits and they're face-down. Cassandra/Bull do ok with a regen potion and occasional barriers. I can pretty much leave them to it.

My archer and mage stay together with a proximity regen potion and a barrier. The only real threat to them is getting smacked off the side of the platform by a tentacle. Yesterday, I played as Viv, and knight-Enchanter definitely has the easiest time. Her barrier is up almost constantly, so she doesn't have to worry about damage, or even getting knocked around if I time Fade Cloak right. Varric was less lucky with the latter thing.  :whistle:

Boss battle was easy - I had Bull, BW, Dorian and myself as an unspecialised archer (but with dragonscale prowler armour) and it was pretty much "hold mousebuton down, press 1, 2, 3 etc for harder hits" on L15/Hard - That Alpha Emissary earlier was much harder, THAT was a good fight! :)

I know its flogging a dead horse, but nothing post DAO seems to match the atmosphere and combat of the Battle of Denerim, sorry.

/A

I was nervous heading into the fight and it turned out to be extremely easy. I had 3 sword and shields (Myself, Cassandra and Blackwall) and Vivienne. But it was so easy that i think i could have brought anyone and i wouldn't have had a problem.

I went for high damage over short span of time. I killed it within 30 seconds on Nightmare. The boss itself is boring and cheap.
