Churchill looked in decent shape when he was in command of the 6th battalion. So still not fat.

I don't get it either. Then they claim you're a sexist if you take Biology over their beliefs. You're on to something with the comparison to creationists.

Somewhat off-topic....

Based on my personal experience, the times when I physically competed against men and won, the men I whooped really didn't take it very well.  I kicked this one guy's butt in a Brazillian ju-jitsu bout, and let's just say, in the next bout, he made me bleed.  When I came in second in a 10-mile race competing against 30 men and five women, one of my male supervisors, who was one of the men I beat, put me on his sh_t list.

My point: IMHO, despite my liberal leanings, I'm generally somewhat skeptical of physically pitting men and women against each other.

I don't recall saying anyone here was sexist. I also don't recall mentioning male physical superiority in any capacity greater than others' need to validate it with bogus examples meant more to diminish women; i.e. cherry picked examples of men beating women in male dominated fields dressed up as men-are-always-superior-because-reasons.

Read a history book not written by a man.

You know Factoid means Fake fact right?

@ Snake code. Health care. Educaton or anything consumer based i suppose.

Not inherently, actually. The second definition for factoid is an assumptions that's repeated so often it becomes generally accepted as fact, but the first definition is just "a brief or trivial item of news or information."

@Jazz- I don't recall saying you did. This is the BSN, it's not the first time this conversation has been had.

You keep mentioning how we're using specific examples from "male dominated fields" so i'll ask again. How about an example from a field where women are physically dominant? I'll wait.

It's not an argument, it's simply an observation of your credibility being blown apart.

So...which side are the people bringing up examples of "male oppression" arguing for, exactly?

Cause that's not an argument against mainstream feminism. That's an argument in favor of it.  I think pretty much all serious mainstream feminists would agree that modern western values place burdens on men as well as woman, and hence men should be invested in dismantling those values as well.

So you're a transsexual "genderfluid" person, who's also autistic, who's also depressed, who also was suicidal and who also saw a psychologist for it, yet also is a military veteran who also did ju-jitsu and is also good at running while also treated poorly for it?

Yeah, sure buddy.

Are there historians of certain races, sexual orientations and nationalities that we should avoid while we're at it?

A very brief response, because there is way more to discuss than I have the time to: Is this statement based on any survey by you of the relevant historical or academic literature on the subject? If not, I would consider not making strong claims about "what all intelligent people believe."

My own experience in the academic world suggests that the opposite is the case. Feminism is a thriving intellectual tradition, to the point where even evolutionary psychologists like David Buss identify as feminists and will discuss the "origins of patriarchy" (his words, not mine). Even philosopher David Benatar, author of The Second Sexism (a book which cites pretty much all of the factoids about ways in which men are mistreated that you just did) will concede that on the whole, discrimination against women is more severe than discrimination against men.

The problem with this topic, (and it's way off topic for a gaming forum) is that saying or implying that 3.5 billion people enjoy power and privilege while the other 3.5 billion people don't, is absurd.

Do some people on the planet have power and privilege?  Sure do! Are most of them men? Sure are! Do most men have this? Hell no. The ones that do are a tiny percentage of the population, and they are not willing to share with me just because I have something dangling between my legs.

Take Dwayne "The Rock" Johnston. Privilege and power? You bet! He was in the news a while ago. Damaged someones car. The owner practically thanked him and offered him money. What would happen if it were me? Or most other guys on the planet? Of course not. He has power, not because of his anatomy or skin colour, but because of his fame, exactly the reason someone like Oprah Winfrey has power and privilege.

Back on topic.. what was the topic again? More high ranking women in MEA? Oh yeah. Sure, why not?

It is not our game.
So if the writers want to have more women, more men or the same amount, they will decide that.
And there's no problem having more women or more men.
Freedom in writing, please!
I also want to see many things in games, I understand, I also write here asking for things, but that's what I say, the game's story is not ours.

Well, that was unnecessarily harsh.

And, yes, I've led an interesting life.  Most intellectually curious people do.

You can read whatever ulterior motive you want to in my posts as I'm not in the business of "proving" myself to anonymous internet pee-ons.  Nice to see you're keeping copious notes on my posting history, however.
