Not surprising given the success of the previous game.
I still need to go back and finish the first one, I couldn't get fully into it the last time I played it.
Note that the enhanced edition is out soon. Free to everyone that has an original copy.
We've also included controller support on PC, so now you can kick back and explore Rivellon from the comfort of your sofa with Steam's Big Picture. We've put a lot of effort into streamlining the experience and have designed a slick, new UI that makes playing with a controller just as intuitive and fun as playing with mouse and keyboard. As well as local co-op, split screen and controller support, the Enhanced Edition also features:

Good, the story needs work, big time. Looking foward to the Enhanced Edition and a sequel. While i did enjoy the gameplay alot the story was pretty dull and the lore not interesting to me at all.

Hopefully they fix the inventory system, that was a mess in OS.
Isn't it surprising? I mean... isn't the idea of Kickstarter to give a kick start to things? Not just have ongoing crowd funding on every title your company puts out?
If not, then it all eventually just becomes a crazy way to pre-order games.
Because publishers won't publish these games no matter what.

With the money they made you'd think they could self-publish or that a publisher who saw the success would publish for them. Then there's digital publishing.
Given the success of Original Sin, I didn't expect to see a sequel so soon and on Kickstarter of all places. I have to agree with Fast Jimmy that Kickstarter should be to kick start new projects for companies that really need the funding.
I can't say I was too impressed with Original Sin even as enjoyable as it was. Compared to the previous Divinity games, the story and dialogue (especially player dialogue) left much to be desired but I enjoyed the freedom and combat encounters. Hopefully this sequel includes the same level of writing and wittiness of the original games especially Divinity 2 where the player character had some great dialogue lines that could be chosen. The protagonists of Original Sin had bland dialogue options whilst in conversation.
Yesss! Looking forward to both this and the (hopefully enhanced) Enhanced Edition. I loved the combat and mechanics in the original Divinity: OS but the story, characters and overall writing definitely needed improvement.
