Remember. This is what Konami decided was a better direction then PT. You lost Silent Hills being a thing, so that this monstrosity could live.

Konami is worst company of the year. If EA wins that award again, It'll be a disgrace to everyone involved in that thing.

I'm not one to usually enjoy one Jim Sterling. But his videos on the subject and on Konami in general sum the situation up well.

Konami hates games. Konami hates gamers. Konami hates game creators and developers. Konami hates its employees. Konami hates its titles. And most of all, Konami hates You.

That's not Pachinko. That's pure slot machine.

And the answer is simple. Gamblers spend money on stupid crap easily.

“We will pursue mobile games aggressively. Our main platform will be mobiles. Following the pay-as-you-play model of games like Power pro and Winning Eleven with additional content, our games must move from selling things like “items” to selling things like “features.” - Hideki Hayakawa, New CEO of Konami

Pachinko jingle and space torpedo beams

Comic book violence and escaping steam

Like this is a Bioware forum.

We **** on EA alot, and EA deserves a good chunk of that. So does Ubisoft.

But at least those companies still release video games.

Konami doesn't want to make video games anymore.

EA and Ubisoft put in more effort than Konami. I never thought I'd say those two put in more effort than anything.

Konami made a dumb decision, they threw away all the good will they have built up and have lost their brand loyalty. While they will make a lot of money short term, they will probably lose more in the long run as the average Mobile/Casual gamer does not know brand loyalty, they tend to move onto the next popular thing.

I hope Konami sells off their video game IPs to companies that will put them to good use and withdraws from the Video Game industry. They can stick to their slot machines and making Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I suppose it doesn't really matter to me though as I'll be parting ways with them after I buy MGS V: The Phantom Pain. They're on my ignore list like Capcom.

as it now all i want is MGS V to be released without major issues. although some design decisions bugs me a lot. Konami may burn afterwards.

as for ubisoft and ea. i just don't buy their games for a very long time. and difference between konami and ea/ubisoft is the fact that konami murder their franchises in one swoop, when ea/ubisoft killing their franchises slowly and painfuly.

Just Cause 3 will be the first game of theirs that I'll have bought in 6 or 7 years XD

Edit: I take that back 4 or 5 years, because Just Cause 2 came out in 2010.

They should give Castlevania and Metal Gear to Platinum. Plain and simple.

Konami is boycotting hardcore gamers after Phantom Pain anyways.

Giving them money for their last big release before they exit the industry for more lucrative lower risk markets is fine by them.

I'm almost tempted to buy Mad Max instead since it's out on the same day.

Waiting for it to drop in price or buying it pre owned would be wise.

I just want a proper Castlevania game to cleanse my palette of Lords of Shadow 2.

Like a sequel to Rondo of Blood/Symphony of the Night about Richter and Maria would be so good.

But no. My favorite Castlevania protagonists are trapped in Pachinko Limbo  :crying:

Gintoki could not **** up this bad.

And that's saying something.

Like...We're getting Resident Evil 2 Remake now.

Dracula X Chronicles HD, or a big collection of the GBA and DS games.

Konami could do so much.

Yep, although they will continue to pump out Yu-Gi-Oh video games it seems, as they just came out with one called Legacy of the Duelist (it's practically the same as their last Yu-Gi-Oh game, from what I've seen it has the exact same music). I don't really see any point in waiting to buy the game used or boycotting, it'd just be one sale they'd miss out on and I'd have to wait longer to play the game. I've been bored and looking forward to this game, so no reason to punish myself with Konami whom is going to what they want. It isn't the same like it was with Arkham Knight and announcing $40 worth of DLC before the game is even released, in which case I did boycott the game in favor of a Game of the Year edition.

Well I mean, Mad Max looks pretty great too.

I dunno. Maybe I'll grab both.
