Game of the year

Konami is just a disgusting piece of the game world. How they treated Kojima to screwing up their main franchises by focusing on mobile gaming... I would be glad if Konami just disappears from this world.

Kickstarter gave us Shovel Knight, FTL and Freedom Planet. There's some hope, if a little dim.
I'm a little miffed about having to wait until 2017 just to get my Castlevania fix : \

The thing with Konami though is that they've been cretins for years, it's only this latest debacle with Kojima and decision to prioritise all assets on slots machines (possibly their trading card merchandising) and cell phone games that has pushed everybody onboard the hate-boat.
It's so surreal too considering the classic titles they've had on their resume a few years back -- All of it. Gone. Along with any integrity. How incredibly tragic. I mean, like Sterling said -- The concious decision of suddenly deciding to arbitrarily move development of Silent Hill away from the veterans of Team Silent to random talentless western developers beckons the thought; Perhaps Konami really, actually, believes that anybody is capable of making great games, creativity and talent are superficial concepts in their mind.
Who knows though -- R.I.P Silent Hill and Metal Gear. I wasn't gonna buy Phantom Pain a few years back when it was announced, but I've since reconsidered if only because it is the last one we'll see from Kojima. For real, this time.
The cancelled Silent Hills game looked amazing and I've no doubt it would have sold well. Konami are insane and have now lost all of their talent. Now they're clearly trying to cash out on the names of the IP's that belong to them. Metal Gear will follow after the Phantom Pain releases and then Konami will stop with releasing games altogether.
Kojima will no doubt make his own spiritual successor to Metal Gear as Iga has done for Castlevania so the fans and gamers will continue to support these devs rather than the slot machines or mobile games Konami release in future under the names of once great (but now dead) IPs.
