I actually feel the overwhelming majority of the "styles" are better suited to men not women. I cant help but feel rather insulted.
Suggestion. Hair pack.

I find it curious that the men have the same hairstyles as women. I mean, alright, there is this about equality, but anyway. There should also be differences between the races, imho (bad enough that you can have elves with normal eye size, although it is one of the major differences to humans, that they have bigger eyes!).
We really need more variety and especially more quality. It is hard enough to see only these few hairstyles all around Thedas. Look outside the window and start to count the different hairstyles you see within an hour (or longer if you live in a rather quiet area). I rarely see two people with the same hairstyle.

Many of the hairstyles would be great on females too, the problem is the hairline and sideburns. I like the half shaved/half long hairstyle, ot the tight ponytail similar to Varric's, but the male balding pattern prevent me from using those.
If something must be unisex, it should be unisex: not male hair slapped on female skull!!! and some things would have been easily fixed - many times the balding pattern is just into the textures! those hair could have been corrected for the female inquisitors. And the siderburns could be easily taken away with mods, so I can't think that little fix must be so hard for the devs, that have the chance to use proper tools.

It'd be really nice to see a hair pack instead of another armor pack. Don't get my wrong I like the extra armor, mounts, thrones and all that. But pretty much everytime I go to roll a new inquisitor I get to character creator and go "Oh yeah... this." The hairs are pretty lack luster. I'd like to get some nice long hair looks going. Remember the Dalish concept art from DOA? I want that guys hair. And I'd like my females to have an option of long hair as well.
I would definitely buy that pack.
I like the "idea" behind this but honestly even a hair pack would be such utter trash ... because let's face it, the Dragon Age team doesn't understand hair. They just cannot make good hair. I don't just mean design wise (but that too ... hello plastic craptastic "hair") but style. Do these people even live in 2015? And yes I know, it's "fantasy" so "old timey" hair. So that means... mullets??? and bangs that were cut by a two year old?! And 15 different kinds of bald? No, they are just terrible at hair, TERRIBLE! Were in all three games. I don't even want to know what some of these people look like in real life lol
Some of the modded hairstyle are just breathtaking. BW should just hire modders. They're so much more talented!

This is a great idea! I would pay for a hair pack. So would several other people I know. Right now we have several varying degrees of bald and a handful of hairstyles that look like they are premature balding or receding and look odd on women or have sideburns.
And they don't feel like they belong in Dragon Age. They feel like they belong in Mass Effect. Marjolaine called Leliana's hair all "messy and short like a boy's" and hers is one of the girlyest in Inquisition. And don't get me started on what they used for Florianne de Chalons... Ugh... An Orlesian Noble? That certainly did not measure up to the stories Leliana told Elven Grey Warden Lily Tabris (my warden) in Origins when we talked about the woman with the long flowing tresses adorned with live birds at court.
They can do better than this. I liked the hairstyles in Origins. I loved the hairstyles in Dragon Age 2. Even just to bring those back would be an improvement.
Please Bioware help the Inquisitors to look cool. After one or two Inquisitors I'm all out of new and individual looking characters of the same gender (unless I make a Qunari and they need some love, too).
New Hair pack containing 3+ new hairstyles per each race and gender (5+ if it is the same hair for all races and genders, including the Qunari) for $5? Would totally buy it. And that can't be any more work than a new item pack with totally unique armor for all eight character models plus companions...

As far as I remember, DA2 brought back all of DA:O's hairs and added new ones. Perfect. This is exactly what DA:I (and every other game in a series) should do. Even if they'd have to remake them for the new engine, the concept stage is over, and you have consistent styles for a universe. Not to mention the fact that unless your Hawke was bald, it's practically impossible to recreate them... (You can't even do the default Hawkes justice.)
I would pay for a hair/Skyhold outfit pack if it had good quality stuff. I can't help but think more people would buy it than either Spoils pack, especially considering the terrible quality of those packs. I'm just desperate to have something else to wear at Skyhold and even one more hairstyle would allow me to make another character.

What I ask myself is...where can we go and sign to let the devs know? I can't believe they still don't know how much the (lack of) quality in hair/eyebrows/beards/payamas bother many players, but I find quite frustrating that they created armours and helmets but refuse to do hair and some different retexture of the jammies.
Is not that much more harder doing armours and helemets than do hair. Hair don't move aniway, so there is no way that is a problem. Jammies don't even move like many armour and coats.
And I'm sure it would be much more interesting for players than the Spoils.

I think they know a lot of us want those things, but unfortunately seem to be too proud to admit what we originally got is terrible. There is no way they don't know how much players hate the hair and Skyhold outfit, and there isn't really a good reason not to make a pack for them either, so it must just be them being stubborn. Nothing new there...

I'm not so sure it's pride... Sometimes it seems like they go out of their way to make sure the player characters get the worst hair and armor. Not to mention the party outfits or skyhold pjs, I think we are being punished, I'm hoping they only do this subconsciously. ![]()

Well, the fact that they have terrible taste in aesthetics is clear, at least. I still think it's prideful not to improve when so many people want you too.

I didn't think the hair styles in the two previous games were good. I was always limited to one or two styles that I could tolerate for both the men and the women. DA:I is actually worse, because there is actually one hair style that I like-ish and only three that I would ever consider using.
Whoever said Bioware cant do hair was correct. I just keep hoping though... ![]()

The rule of thumb is: Hair sucks in Inquisition.
But that includes all hair. Facial hair sucks (not to mention being forced to have sideburns), eyebrows suck, and most of all, head-hair sucks. Eyelashes are fine, I guess, so... yay?
Though I don't understand why almost all of them are seemingly identical. Making new characters is really hard with so few options, because reusing hair makes the characters too similar most of the time. Add Hawke into the mix, and you'll be struggling to do just one playthrough with acceptable hair.
I have no idea what I'll do for my next playthrough. I used the 2 hairs I like for my first 2 playthroughs (though I didn't know one had sideburns at the time, and will not use it again until it's fixed, so probably never). This time, my friend lent me her sliders, so that's a no-brainer, and I used them to make Hawke identical to the Inquisitor for comic effect. But next time? I've already used everything. Even if they just added one good style, it would help me immeasurably.
I would agree that the hair situation is not ideal, but I've made like 7 female characters, all with different hairstyles and features, and they manage to come out very different from one another. I think if you're trying to make a conventionally attractive female character every time, you're bound to have problems for sure though.

So... hairstyles do suck, but they're not all the same, but I do think there needs to be some race specific variety, but it's manageable, but if you're on PC you can use mods, but I'm a console user... BUT really the biggest problem is the pajama situation!

It's not about making them conventionally attractive per se, it's just that I can only tolerate 2 hairstyles and only like one (avatar). I would like the other if I could remove the sideburns. Even if I just liked one more I could make another character, because when I'm going to look at them for 200 hours I don't want to cringe every time I see them!
I understand that you don't mind more styles than me, and that's fine. It's lucky, in fact. People are different. But I don't think I'm alone in simply wanting a wider variety of fairly average/standard/generic/common/conventional hair like we've had in previous games, and that also does not mean I'm against unconventional styles in addition.
I'm on console as well, and I suppose I have to agree that the pajama situation is the biggest problem, partly because I can simply replay characters I've already made (thus very crudely negating the hair problem), but no matter what, I'm stuck in that outfit! And also because I'm getting very annoyed at Bioware for not fixing the issue when it would be very easy, as I've said 1000 times.
