I wonder if it might be some kind of free single player content?

Most likely it will be most people's guess and will be a big DLC--possibly the final story DLC.

I think extension is a good way to put it if they're so against calling it an "expansion". Because I'm pretty confidant this is going to be a fairly large sized addition and I think it's going to have a little of everything- even the advisers and extra romance scenes. And I'd be happy to pay $40 bucks for that. I don't think my husband would be but....lol

5 hours? I'm already at 7 hours in Descent and not finished, and Jaws took me about 12. Mileage varies I guess.

 

OT: I'd love to see an announcement of a digital expansion. I mean, Edmonton team has been working on something since Jaws that involves 5 new bard songs, and obviously wasn't Descent since that has no bard songs and was made by the Austin guys. Story and companion heavy I think (the new TOR expansion indicates that Bio is headed in this direction in general). I think this is probably the likeliest option.

 

Less likely by far, but something I'd be excited about, would be a sort of enhanced edition for Inquisition. Now support for last-gen has been ended, it'd be fantastic to see some of the features that had to be cut for old-gen to be put back in, in a sort of mega-patch. Mounts for companions, that high level boat-burning quest in Crestwood, more cinematics throughout, a reintroduction of the DAO/DA2 tactics options etc. I'm not even remotely expecting this, well into a flight of fancy here - far too much work involved for far too little reward - but it would be great.

 

Personally, I'd also pay money for a sort of cosmetic pack - new presets, hairstyles, beards, moustaches, horns, freckles, scars, tattoos, new Skyhold outfits, a new option for something to wear at Halamshiral ... all with really high texture detail. This won't happen either, but I'll keep dreaming ...

 

Of course, it could be something far more low-key - like an announcement of the winner of the Relics of Thedas contest, or a new MP map. This would be disappointing, but it's certainly possible.

If they managed to get me 20 hours, for $30 i'd be pretty happy.

 

I am hoping that they announce it at Pax. I think we'll see the Untold Relic  of Thedas touched upon, and just an announcement for the next DLC. I think that Bioware Edmonton has had a lot of time to work on the final DLC as Bioware Austin got to work on Descent, so it's been many months since Bioware Edmonton launched JoH.

No, the laundry basket (in the laundry room) is way too far from the bedroom floor I'm afraid. :-P
No, he's great really. Very helpful at home and he's a wonderful dad. I can't complain just for some socks on the floor...

Anyway, back on topic, I'm super excited about that anouncement. But my hopes tend to get high VERY easily.

Any big single player DLC will be exciting for me.  The more in depth, the better.  I just finished Hakkon, and it took me about 12 hours (including time spent crafting with new schematics found within).  Excited to start the Descent soon, and if that adds about as much to my game as Hakkon did, I'll consider it money well spent.  

 

If a bigger expansion adds considerably more to the game than those two, I'm fully on board with spending $30 or more on it.  (I can't recall buying any Bioware DLC for the DA or ME series' that cost more than that, but I could be forgetting something)

But only if one of the outcomes involve being able to kill him, because I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be satisfied with any other option.

 

But for that to happen, we'd need a DLC before that DLC where our characters find out who Solas really is and how he played his part in the Breach.

 

Or I guess they could do that in the first half of a Solas DLC, then deal with it in the second half, which doesn't sound unreasonable if its a project thats had a while to be worked on.

 

But if I had to give a list of things I'd want to be announced/discussed;

 

- Fenris novel, where Fenris himself, Gideon Emery comes out and reads a small part of it to people, replacing the words "Fenris said" with "I said".

 

- Details on the Tevinter comic series coming at the end of the year.

 

- Tease to a Qunari Invasion DLC. Or a reveal/discussion of it, with a tease where they tell us we already know who's behind it. (The community, not the players).

 

Obviously the first one could be very unlikely, but wouldn't mind more Gideon Emery.

It would be great, especially if it shows a couple of Qunari attempting to attack the new Divine, thinking she's just a regular person, and depending on who the Divine is in your playthrough, kick them to the curb!

Sorry to be the one to rain on your parade, but why is everyone in this thread so convinced that the SP "extension" will have an expansion's worth of content? Have I missed something?

I'd be happy for five hours (aka Witch Hunt), combined with the improvements from player feedback and dropping of lastgen support I'd gladly shell out 20 bucks, Chuckles or no.
